Went to the hotel in June. It was our first family holiday since having the kids. Now 5 and 3. What can I say I went with an open mind, after reading some of the reviews, but I said to my partner a holiday is what you make it.
I was wrong the hotel is very noisy and we were moved to another hotel after stopping only 2 nights in the Olympic. It was impossible to sleep people running up and down corridors till 4.30 in the morning and then it would start again about 7am with two young children this was not much fun. The food was cold but they was a microwave.
We ate out quite often they was not much choice for the kids they did chips and that was it. I would say if you are young and like clubbing and don’t care about sleep this is the holiday for you. This is not a family orientated hotel.
They moved us to the Amika a 4 star hotel in the same resort totally different and after 2 nights from hell it was like heaven. The hotel was much nicer, quieter and the staff were a lot friendlier.

Returned from the Olympic Hotel Calealla in May o6.
The hotel is said to be the biggest hotel in Calealla and one of the oldest. This might explain the fact that the walls are paper thin and you can hear every noise from your next door neighbour.
Noise is the big issue with this hotel it awful. It is a very busy hotel and seems to have holiday makers booking in and out every day, not just on two or three days a week like the average hotel. When we were there, there was a local football tournament going on and there were hundreds of young lads between the ages of 12-16 who descended there from all over the world. I think this is the norm rather than the exception as I think the hotel caters for large bookings for children.
The children were not a problem (we had three teenagers in our party) but coupled with the other traffic of people it became unbearable. There were people shouting from their balconies and singing songs all through the night and people arguing and fighting on the landings. When complaints were made to the management the answer was "oh well they are going home in two days".
The hotel is run on an all inclusive basis and the free alcohol might have added to the rowdiness of some of the occupants, both day and night.
The food was ok, it was eatable but became a bit boring after the first three days. It was probably the worst in terms of variety that I have experienced after having been on numerous all inclusive holidays.
The beach is about 5 mins away, the sand is not nice, so better off staying around the pools. The pools are nice as is the pool bar. There are plenty of shops locally and plenty of places to eat. The food is good and prices are reasonable.
The rooms were basic but ok, the beds were not very comfortable and as mentioned before the walls are paper thin, therefore ear plugs advised as the toilet is next to the bedroom.
All in all, this is a less expensive hotel and you get what you pay for. However you could probably find some where less noisy for the same money. I suggest you go some where else.

Staff, the skeleton staff they do have, most of them were so miserable. Maids had been trying on peoples clothes and stealing them. 3 games consoles were stolen and a digital camera from guest during my stay. I locked all my suitcases whenever I left my room.
Children have activities to do during the day if they are under 7 and there is a mini disco that will entertain again under 7s but apart from the pools my children 9 and 13 were so bored it was unreal then they would get into trouble with all the other children for making their own entertainment. I'M SO GLAD I AM HOME AND YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL.
