The hotel staff were fantastic nothing was a problem. The main resort was a 15 min walk away and 20 mins to the harbour.
Lots of pubs and places to eat on the prom and the food was fabulous. Star Beach was just 5 mins away with foam party and live DJ in the afternoons which were chockablock!
Other beach access were at the bottom of the hotel.
Local people made us feel very welcome. Would go back tomorrow!

Just back from an excellent holiday in the King Minos Palace. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in but unfortunately it is in Hersonissos which is not so nice but if you like to stay in the hotel at the large clean swimming pool or you are looking for a good base to travel around Crete then this is a perfect choice.
The staff are all genuinely friendly and helpful and everything is spotlessly clean. Be sure not to miss the barbeque night (although you have to pay extra for it for some reason) and the other nights entertainment is of a reasonably good standard.
The hotel is unfortunately definitely not wheelchair or invalid friendly. There was a good mix of nationalities (British, German, Swedish, Italian etc.) and we all got on very well.

We have just spent a fortnight at the King Minos Palace and cannot find fault with anything. The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas including the toilets. The rooms are excellent and are cleaned every day. There is also a fridge in the room which is great. The air con works a treat which is very necessary in the current hot weather. The choice of food was excellent - so many different things at breakfast and at evening meal.
The pool is beautiful - clean, large and well planned. Although there is a fairly steep incline up to the hotel from the beach it was not a problem and you can actually walk down through the hotel gardens instead on a private path. The views at the front over the sea are wonderful. Every single member of staff we came across was friendly and helpful and never stopped smiling.
The restaurant manager makes a point of speaking to everyone each morning and evening in the hotel, nothing was too much trouble for them. It was relaxing, peaceful and first class.

This was definitely one of the best, if not best holiday destinations I have been to. The King Minos Hotel was an excellent hotel in a perfect location across the road from the popular Star Beach. The staff were extremely friendly at all areas of the hotel, making our stay even better. The maid service is also excellent. I found the food to be of a very good standard with the chefs cooking the food in front of you in the restaurant. The hotel also has a very good sized swimming pool.
The King Minos Palace is situated in Hersonissos, which is definitely the perfect location for those seeking a friendly and lively resort, (but not the kind of lively you will find down the road in Malia). A ten-minute walk will bring you to the main shops, bars and restaurants. However the hotel is at the top of the hill, but is was good exercise!! It is a very friendly resort perfect for everyone. It is also a perfect location to explore the lovely island of Crete. Malia and Stalis are just down the road on the bus, which is very cheap. You can also get the bus down to Heraklion, which has a wide variety of shops including our Marks and Spencers, Accessorize and Zara. You can also visit the popular Saturday market.
Overall the holiday was excellent! Excellent hotel in a perfect location. I would give it 9 and 1/2! Already planning the return trip for next year!

King Minos Palace I have to say the hotel was fantastic! The room we were allocated had a huge double bed and a sofa a free mini fridge which was a massive bonus! Always well maintained buy the friendly cleaners! A view to die for, we were allocated the top of the hotel which was great fun for the little boy to play on, and a view of all Hersonissos.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Requests were always dealt with politely. Have to give a big thanks to the Head Waiter Manos and the hotel Shop Manager Kiki who made my little boys holiday even better. My only concern of the hotel was the lack of children’s food options, but having got a 2yr old that does survive on chips he did well!

The location was fantastic about a 5/10-minute walk to get into the centre which had plenty for all! Have to give this one the big thumbs up its been the best so far!

Check in went smoothly and the pleasant receptionist was astonished that we were only staying for one night. When we told her we were staying in Koutlouloufari, she gave us a map and directions. This was only approximately 10 mins up the hill. She also gave us a map and highlighted places to visit. Our cases were taken to our room by a porter.
The room allocated was well appointed with a balcony and side sea view. The balcony was not very private and their was only an open partition between ours and the next one. I wasn't keen on this. However, the room was good and the bathroom was adequate with good shower above the bath and toiletries provided. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.
The restaurant was pleasant with a good view. One course was freshly prepared by one of the chefs in situ. I remember there was some lovely ice cream that you could help yourself to. Breakfast was equally good, but they clear away on the dot of 9.30am. I had to ask them to get me some yogurt and honey at 9.35am. Waiters and staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive.
The swimming pool was at the back of the hotel and had plenty of sun beds. There was also a pool bar serving snacks. Prices were reasonable for a hotel bar.
Unfortunately, Hersonissos is not my favourite resort in Crete so would only stay here on route to somewhere else. Would definitely recommend it though to anyone who did like the area. The price we paid was excellent at £59.21 for one night HB (booked via Travel Republic).
