An excellent hotel.

- Advice: It's the best ski resort in the world. Amazing scenery, phenomenal skiing, wonderful little town.
- Activities: The pizza restaurant at Trockener Steg. But I can't fault any of the mountain restaurants.
- Good For: Ski
- Board Basis:Half Board
- Tour Operator:Inghams

The Best Western Alpen Resort is a lovely hotel in a perfect position, close enough to the centre to be convenient but far enough away to avoid late-night noise. It's also within easy walking-distance of the Sunegga lift and the ski-bus stop.
During our stay, the hotel staff were all friendly, couldn't do enough to help, and spoke good English. As spectators, we were impressed by how patiently they dealt with some very demanding and ill-mannered guests from another country.
Our room, which was a good size and had plenty of storage-space, was cleaned thoroughly but not intrusively every day.
Mealtimes are very flexible, and there never appeared to be any risk of the food supply running out for latecomers or of our huge exercising-at-altitude appetites being left unsatisfied. Breakfast (from 7am) includes a wide range of fresh breads, cereals, cheese, ham, jams and spreads, fresh fruit, and a small selection of hot food. The coffee, however, is a foul chicory blend. Dinners are varied and interesting, with unlimited access to soups, salads, and, often, desserts. There is no problem with having free tap-water as a drink with dinner instead of the expensive wine or bottled water.
Ski lockers and a boot-dryer are available in the basement, accessible from outside by a lift.
There is a small goldfish-bowl fitness-room and a good-sized (we estimated 13m) swimming-pool which was usually quiet when we were there. Towels for swimming-pool use were provided in our room.
