we have just come back from a lovely break in Paphiessa hotel. Having read some reviews I did wonder what to expect! however all was well. Not the plushest of hotels but perfectly adequate. rooms were a bit tired and it shows it's age a bit but staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. fortunatly for us it was quiet there, which is just how we like it! setting right near the sea is great, sea was lovely and warm. quite rough some days but calm on others. Didn't need to try indoor pool as sea was so nice.Entertainment in evenings was good, live music, dancers, bingo, roulette. all very enjoyable.

This was a great based holiday. The hotel was near all of the bars/restaurants and the beach/harbour. The hotel itself, was a very friendly, relaxed place. It had 3 SWIMMING POOLS, A JACUZZI, GYM, ARCADE GAMES,POOL TABLE. If you are going half board, the food is variable from day to day. They put a notice up with what is on the menu that night. So if you dont fancy it, then tou could go out and have a meal instead. There are plenty of restaurants around to choose from. They have a happy hour on all drinks every night. The staff are very friendly, and will help if you need it. It caters for families as well. They have entertainment on every night, which is also placed on the notice board. I would go back to this hotel again, and would recommend it to everyone. If you are use to luxury then this wouldnt be your type of hotel, but if you like convenience, and a hotel which above average, then this is the place to go

Stayed at the Paphiessa for two weeks in October 2011. Very well located being just a ten minute walk to the sea front and other bars and restaurants, fantanstic, entertainment in the hotel most nights ranged from a party nights with kareoke and singer Dave, and other nights a female vocalist, and not forgeting Nic's crazy quiz and bingo night somthing for everyone. The reception staff were very helpfull and friendly nothing too much trouble, as were all the staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was excellent especially the beef on sunday, but good choices throughout.

This hotel is ideally situated in Kato Paphos for restaurants, harbour etc. It is still family run and we found the owners and staff enthusiastic in helping us, including arranging a hire car at short notice, and at a good price for me to find The Cyprus railway Museum.
I would certainly recommend this hotel. They have in house entertainment most eveenings. Nice service from all levels of staff right up to managers.

After reading reviews for this 3* hotel prior to departure - we were a little apprehensive to say the least....... However - we have just returned after spending 11 days at the Paphiessa - and we had a fabulous time .... all staff were friendly, attentive and courteous - the food was excellent - Breakfast was hassle free with lots of choice. - lunch was tasty. You could use any of the 3 swimming pools - and getting a sun bed was not a problem.....
The entertainment team worked very hard and we thorougly enjoyed all their efforts - relaxed with drinks and enjoyed the shows each night
All in all we had a great holiday - and would definitely go back to this hotel.......
I read some reviews about this hotel from guests that have not been there yet and they gave a bad comment to it by taking into account an e-mail answer. Discusting!!
We went home - relaxed - tanned - and probably a few pounds heavier......!!!!
Thank you Paphiessa.

Stayed for a 10 day holiday on a B & B basis. It is a nice friendly hotel. The room was good and was cleaned every day. It was lovely to be able to have a drink of filtered cold water in your room. Much easier and cheaper than having to buy bottles of water every day. The hotel is in a good location, a shortish walk to the harbour and very close to lots of bars and restaurants. The bar is meant to close at midnight, but luckily the barman kept it open later than that when required. The breakfast is good, with enough choices to keep you going. There are two good size pools and it was always easy to get a sun bed any time of the day. The hotel has entertainment most of the nights. There was a real mixture of ages, with some long term residents staying at the hotel. I would recommend anyone to go there, it is a very good three star hotel.

Stayed here at the beginning of August. We were in 40+ degrees heat and no air con. When we queried this we were told it was OUR problem. The room and bathroom were filthy and when the bed got changed they gave me another guests dirty pillowcases as they had run out of clean ones. We had a dead cat outside for a couple of days and wheelie bins which were full of refuse. The pool was dirty and over-chlorinated so I had chlorine burns on my neck and back. The edge of the pool was also slimy. The bath had a tide mark all round it, the loo brush was thick with faeces, the shower curtain was mouldy, as were the bathroom walls and ceiling and the bedroom wall was crumbling and mouldy.I tried to lodge a complaint with the owner and he grabbed me and shouted at me. As we were leaving, I tried again to lodge a complaint with him and he pushed me hard. I asked him not to touch me again and he then pushed me so hard that I lost my balance and screamed abuse as well as saying he was going to get me arrested and put in prison. He even threatened to have our taxi driver arrested if he took us to the airport. Luckily another guest intervened and we escaped. We have written to the British High Commission in Cyprus as he physically assaulted me. This man not only runs a vile hotel but he is a bully. For some reason, my photos won't upload on this site but they are also on Tripadvisor so can be viewed there.

hotel had everything you need, very friendly staff, rooms cleaned evey day, fresh towels if needed, lovelly warm pool with plenty of sunloungers. only downside was the food, though adiquate, there wasn't much choice,if you wanted to treat your meals as the complete dining experience its not for you,but if you just want 'something to eat before you go out for the evening' as we did this is the place for you!
we enjoyed our stay here, but would try somwhere else next time

I have just returned from 2 weeks in cyprus, i go every year and this place is by far the worst ive ever seen! i normally have a villa, but this time we stayed in a hotel. we paid for the seperate bedroom, and we got given a normal room, and when we complained they told us this was the room we paid for?! we had no bowls in our cupboards, no toaster, only enough hot water for one shower, which could only last about 5-10 minutes, then nothing but cold water. we returned from a night out one night, very tired, but instead of going to bed i had to walk round my room killing mosquitoes and ants that kept appearing from holes in the walls! i walked in to the bathroom one morning and found a HUGE ants nest in the bath! the cleaners only gave us clean towels every 3 days and didnt clean our bedsheets once. i would never return to this place again, i felt dirty the whole time i was there! oh and also, people hog the sunbeds, they place their towel on the beds and then go out for the day so there isnt any sunbeds after about 11 o'clock. useless!!!

The staff and the regular patrons made this hotel a good choice for us.
Plus points include:
Helpful owner - we had issues with our booking company but Niccos was helpful, relaxed, advised us well and calmed us down with his reassurances.
Generous team - we ran short on money and decided to share a last lemonade rather than break into our last note as we needed to keep it in case of airport delays but the bar staff just served us 2 glasses of lemonade - one on the house! That's unusual and indicative of the care taken of us.
Food was lovely - though one night I didn't like the choice I had make -our waitress (who was very lovely) insisted on bringing another dish out - which was gorgeous! I rec the moussaka and the fish.
Close to nightlife in paphos - but not too close. We went out for many drinks and on out return we were clear enough of the bars to not be disturbed at night.
Central for a variety of stuff. 5 minutes to the bars, 15 minutes walk to the harbour, and pafos centre, 5 minutes to the bus stops.
P.S., Buses for 2 Euros all day travel in western cyprus including coral bay, aphrodites baths, polis, mosaic place, temple etc.
The other patrons of the hotel were friendly with lots of tips (as they were staying for 3 weeks) and good for a few nights out too.
Negatives
It it next to a road not the seafront (but not a terrifically noisy road and has road crossing point)

Why are people moaning! We had a studio apartment for 3 adults and it was basic, but totally adequate and spotlessly clean. Towels were changed every day and room was made up every day also. Entertainment team worked very hard and lets face it, it would be impossible to please everybody and you don't have to sit there, as beautiful Kato Paphos is only a walk away. Three fantastic swimming pools which were well maintained. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent and there was a wide choice every day. We are hoping to return to Paphos at Easter and will definitely consider the Paphiessa again!
