Hotel was dingy and dirty and out dated,in bad need of refurbishment. My bed room was poorly decorated, the bathroom was in bad state of repair(eg)glass shelf over wash hand basin, chipped and discoloured in general the batheroom on a whole need to replaced.I stayed for 7 nights, the towels where replace three time as was the bed line. The bathroom was never cleaned at anytime throughout my stay. The staff standard of hygiene was very poor,(eg)threr only seemed to be three members of staff working in the hotel, the worked in the bar, restaraunt, and cleaned the pool. One morning while haveing breakfast I saw one member of staff planting flowers at the pool area,he then proceed to the restaraunt to replenish breakfast items, with out even washing his hands. The quality and standard of food was very poor and no variety,Breakfasts consisted ot tea, coffee, convience orange juice, toast, two ceraels, cheese, beans, boiled or scramble eggs.No freash fruit or freash bread rolls or croissants.I have dinner on the sunday night the meal was so bad I could not eat it.

We were quite concerned about staying here after reading all the reviews on this site.
But for a 3* hotel, everything was expected! We stayed in a studio and it was very clean (including the bed sheets and towels). A cleaner came in every morning to empty the bins, mop the floors and if you had put the towels in the bath - change the towels.
The bar staff were very friendly and I think thats what made the holiday whole.

just returned from hotel as been there from 5th-19th sept. this is gospel and not made up. the hotel staff were good but rushed off their feet.If you intend to go half board beware cos the food selection isnt sparking but its edible. drinks are the bar ae a tad expensive but you are on holiday so beware. the rooms are basic if not outdated, a lick of paint is needed. The area is overun with ants, flies, cats and we found at least 2 cockroaches so beware. If you travel with thomas cook beware as the rep doesnt go to the hotel unless u make an appointment .overall ok but i wouldnt go back unless it was totally updated.

Having read some of the reviews for this hotel, I was a little concerned it was going to be awful. It was in fact fine. Ok, there were some ants in the room but what do you expect in Cyprus when the temperature outside is 40 degrees centigrade.
Our apartment was cleaned every day and sheets and towels changed every 3 days. We were supplied with loo roll and toiletries. The apartment has a microwave but no proper oven, just 2 electric cooking rings. Take your own travel kettle if you want lots of brews!
It's a 10 minute walk to the harbour area which is lovely. Lots of nice restaurants and bars. No sandy beach close by but Coral Bay is a 15 minute bus ride away and worth a visit.
The pool area of the hotel was clean and tidy. Some of the sunbeds were a little worse for wear, but get up early and get yourself a nice one. Always plenty for everyone.
Can't comment on the food as we went self catering. A decent enough apartment for the money. You get what you pay for. It's not luxurious by any means but it was clean and spacious. We were on the road side and it was a bit noisy at night, especially with the windows open. After a couple of nights, you get used to it and it doesn't really affect you that much. If you think it's going to bother you, request an apartment which doesn't overlook the road. All hotel rooms are on the opposite side so the traffic noise won't be heard as much.
All in all, an adequate place to stay. If you want 5star then pay for it. If you want a base from which to enjoy your holiday, then this one is fine.

Having read some bad reviews of this hotel before leaving, got me worried. I was staying half board. Lets do the bad points 1st as there r more of them.
1. Ants in room
2. Carpet disgusting
3. Balcony funiture disgusting
4. Air Con just a fan
5. Bar Expensive
6. Breakfast below average with cheap dried bread
7. Poor food choice on evening menu
8. Sunbeds need replacing
9. Enteraintment starts at 11:30 - 1:30 so if u looking for an early night than forget it - although entertainment not everynite.
10. Reception, Resturant & bar has NO air con so extremally uncomfortable in 40 degree heat with 88% humidity.
11. Towels never changed
12. Cleaners never give enough loo roll, I had to nick one from the maids trolley when she wasnt looking!
13. Decor extremally dated
14. Bus stop 20m away - buses DONT even go along this Rd, nearest actual operational bus stop is 1 mile away!
15. If you have a pool view u will be faced with a noisy duel carriageway.
16. You do have to walk past a male betting shop with often a group of men to get anywhere - sole travellers beaware.
17. Cats everywhere & jumping in bins outside supermarket - dont ever stroke them!
Good Points.
1. Staff Friendly & very helpful speaking good english
2. Pool good size & cleaned daily.
3. Good location 15 mins from Harbour & 5 mins from Bar street & nightlife area
4. Supermarket opposite hotel providing much cheaper drinks & better choice of ice creams.
I would defo not stay in this hotel again - I have been to MUCH MUCH better 2* places. This is not worthy of 3*.

my wife and grandson arrived and were directed to room 15 very basic and in need of renovation. after opening patio doors we were confronted stacks and stacks of broken sunloungers on closer inspection we realised this was the hotels dumping ground.after complaining we were moved after 3 days the room was much better but the cleaning was a disgrace.but for the bar staff the paphiessa would have nothing at all to offer.if this is how you are treated when you book twelve months in advance then i will keep my money in my pocket.

On arrival at the Paphiessa self catering apartments we were shown to our apartment which was in need of refurbishment going out onto the patio and looking left we were confronted with 6 high stacks of broken sun loungers old bricks and any other rubbish that was to be dumped.4days after complaining we were moved from room 15 to better accomodation.Cleaning of the rooms was a disgrace as they only mopped the floors.

Aug 2010, globetrotters

me and my partner decided to book a holiday as i had just finished my uni exams and he had just returned from 6 months away with the Navy, we had saved all year only for it to be wasted at this dump!
the staff are rude! the rep was rubbish! many problems were reported such as the broken radio, shower, air con and nothing was done to fix them in our entire two week stay.
food is appalling, found hairs in my omlette! yuk! and also very expensive. the breakfast is quite simply a joke. the only thing we dare eat was the cornflakes.
we were shocked to read such reviews about all the entertainment on offer. we must have been in a different resort because in our entire stay we saw one karaoke night and one singing act... and that was it!
sunbeds all broken, not surprising when they have cats climbing all over them.
the maids didn't actually clean, all they did was fold up our dirty towels and put them back on the rail and, more bizarre, mop the carpet.
after being put in the wrong room (we had been put in hotel room after paying self catering) we were asked to pay 168 Euros to be moved to a self catering room which we had already paid for anyway with the travel agents! refused to pay that but was still in need of a fridge so was charged 60 euros for that. when the fridge was eventually brought to our room it was so gross and mouldy inside, it definately hadn't been cleaned for quite a while.
good points when you are not at this hotel: harbour is lovely, chinese restaurant called chloes is absolutely gorgeous! make sure you go!!! also a good italian restaurant on the corner of the harbour strip. we also enjoyed a jeep safari to troodos mountains/ kykkos monastery and also went on a trip to the bird and animal park. the roman mosaics are defiantely worth going to if you have an interest in history.
after having such good service travelling with olympic in previous holidays to greece we were extremely disappointed and felt very let down by them this year, and this unfortunately has put us off travelling with them again. We are at the minute trying to get some compo back after spending so much to stay here and having such an awful time.

My Cyprus holiday

I found the staff on arrival very helpful and friendly.i was given a very nice large room overlooking the pool.i was across in cyprus to go to my daughters wedding so i just wanted something cheap to use as a base.i think the people that have written bad reviews about this hotel have maybe set their sights a bit high.just as a matter of interest my daughter was staying at the amathus beach hotel it cost 11000 pounds for 3 weeks including the wedding.her room was smaller but the location was better.in essence you get what you pay for.i was very happy indeed with what i got for my money and would not hesitate to stay there again.

After reading all the terrible reviews for this hotel i was a little worried of what to expect, but i am so glad we stayed at this hotel.
it is a warm and friendly place with really nice people working there such as Del, Mohammed and Liam.
Rooms were very spacious and our beds were changed near enough everyday!
The pool area is gorgeous!!! Such a large pool and plenty of sunbeds for everyone.
Loads of places to eat if you are self catering, just a 10 minute walk to the main part with the bars and restaurants.
We stayed here for 2 weeks at the beginning of july and loved it, we didnt want to come home :(
All in all a great hotel with lovely staff, dont listen to the bad reviews, this hotel is fab!! :) xxxx

JULY 2010
This Hotel is not 3* would be lucky 2 make 1*, it is infested with ants they are in ur room, all around the hotel, at the pool, it is terrible. Cats are everywhere also, they pee all over the sunbeds.
The kids pool was never cleaned....
The bedsits(apartments) were never mopped, dirty towels were just folded and hung up by the maids...
There entertainment was a joke, i dnt know how they can call it that..
PLEASE do not put urself threw the worst 2weeks stay of ur life like we did by stayin at this hotel it is a DUMP and out dated. There is far better hotels close by for the same price PLEASE check them out before you book this one...
I have stayed in many hotels and have never experianced 1 as BAD as this and believe me i am not a fussy person but this place was a disgrace and i know you will agree if you are mad enough 2 go and stay.
The drink and food prices are very expensive.
its an extra 10euro each nite for air-con in ur room and believe me u will need it.

Dated Dirty and Distgusting
1 / 10
Jul 2010, opal

This is the first time I have been on holiday and couldnt wait to come home. The bedsits(because thats all they are)were actually apartments that have been divided again to make extra rooms and extra money.
When we arrived we were told to go through the arch across the road to room 38.This room overlooks the front of the hotel and day and night all we could hear was car doors banging and buses pulling up at all hours.Underneath these rooms is a gym and during the day all you could hear was the boom boom boom from the music they had blaring(if I ever hear Lady gagas poker face again I will scream).
On one side of the room there was a fridge 2 ring electric hob and microwave. You couldnt use the microwave at the same time as the cooker as you only had 1 socket on the wall.A whistling kettle was provided along with a toaster (that had to be plugged in on the dressing table) 1 frying pan and 2 pans.
We had no entertainment except one night Karaoke in 2 weeks except for the world cup until the night before we came home.Ants were in the bedroom and I was given a aerosol to spray but told to bring it back as they only had that one.Cats were on the sunbeds at night and one must have been in our room as scratch marks were on the bottom of the door. The lady next door said her bedspread smelt of cat urine.I have travelled the world and this is the worst place I have ever been and that includes third world countries whoever gave it 3* wants shooting I would struggle to give it 1*.
We have been to Protaris Limassol and Pathos before and NEVER came anywhere near seeing facilities like these it wants closing and fumigating.
