Almost totally agree with everything Mr Sales no way is this a four star. Staff are very good and do their best.
Our room needed refurbishment; paint peeling etc. The hotel is surrounded by banana plantations but on the other side of the busy main road. This is not however the tropical paradise it pretends to be.
Would strongly recommend using another tour operator Thompson are not a patch on what they were. Very disappointing

We had an excellent holiday, the quality and choice of the food was better than buffets on some cruise ships. The food was displayed at different points of the restaurant so there was not the queue and shuffle normally associated with buffets.
The entertainment was far better than could be expected at other hotels, with Thomson's Production company calling in 4 times a fortnight and guest artistes doing an hour each night, along with the holiday reps who are quite talented, every evening we felt we had been well entertained each night.
The hotel is well run, with a good ambiance and the management and staff show that extra effort. The beach is small with some stones but bathing shoes get you into the sheltered cove, protected from the breakers.
The sunbeds on the beach are not owned by the hotel and must be paid for daily. Drinks in the hotel are expensive for those not on all inclusive drinks package (CY £9.75 per day).
Local buses are frequent for Coral bay which is close by or Paphos which is 8Km away.
The bedrooms are comfortable, if a little tired. At the end of September 2007 building work began on the next plot to the north of the hotel at 8.00 each morning, so best to check if it is complete at the time of your holiday. Overall 10 /10.

We have just returned after a week’s stay at the Atlantica Golden Beach. It was one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
The bedrooms were lovely, daily maid service and they even come and turn your bed back at night, and leave a sweet or biscuit on your pillow. On the last night it was a red rose.
The food was wonderful and plenty of choice. If you don't like sauces and foreign food there was a roast every night and the puddings were to die for.
Everybody from reception staff, waiters and bar staff were very friendly.
We did not want to come home and it is certainly a hotel we will return to.

Disappointed with this hotel from the start. The hotel looks tired and the bedrooms are worse. Stained carpets, ageing and broken bathroom taps unable to keep water in bath as plug not fitting properly.
No English channels on the TV ended up watching German TV. If you book a limited sea view you have the choice of either full sun and a view of waste ground or no sun and a view of the pool.
Nowhere to go for a stroll unless you like walking on the road edge with all the dust and grit also look out for the time share touts as we were grabbed within 2 minutes of leaving the hotel. Hope you like red meat and sauces as very little white meat options and hardly any food cooked plainly.
The best part was breakfast. This hotel does not warrant the scores it gets in the Thomson book, it’s only a 2* which may be a Thomson 4t. I will never go back to Cyprus again and will attempt to find a better tour operator than Thomson.

We have just come back from the Atlantica after getting married in Cyprus. Where do you start? The hotel is gorgeous, set in a quiet part of Paphos but there is a bus stop right outside if you fancy going to the harbour or coral bay.
Because we got married in the town hall the hotel upgraded our room to a full sea view and it was truly breathtaking. Rooms were very clean and spacious with a huge bed!
We opted for the half board basis, although drinks were quite expensive. Breakfast was a mix of English and continental with a chef preparing omelettes while you waited. Dinner, there was so much choice that we both need to diet now we have come back. Food was of a very high standard.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the drinks party was great with Yannis the manager talking to everybody.
All in all a great place to go and we certainly are going to go back next year for our anniversary.

Lovely accommodation, clean hotel with friendly staff, excellent holiday with bus route outside the hotel.
Thomson staff all brilliant and nothing too much trouble. The rep nights were great and the friendliness made our first Thomson Gold holiday special.
The walks along the shore side to Paphos/Coral Bay was really good. Overall rating for this holiday was definitely 5*. Planning to go back.

Just came back off my honeymoon at golden beach, it was the best holiday I’ve ever had, it was so relaxing food and service was excellent, the reps and entertainers were 5 *, there was no way you could fault this place they had thought of everything, we had champagne flowers and choc's on arrival, chocolates placed on our bed every night and on the last day a red rose and chocolates with a love poem placed on our bed. It was so nice, the people are very friendly and made you feel so at home and welcome.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone who wants a relaxing and stress free holiday, not for those who want to boogie and party all night!
A recommended trip would be a day in Egypt a long day but very well worth it
A holiday I won't forget.

Fabulous! What more can I say?
I booked this holiday as an allocated on arrival price breaker deal and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel - the added bonus being there were no children there.
The staff were very friendly and the waiters in the restaurant were great. Food was fabulous (considering I am a fussy eater), snacks were massive and there was plenty of choice.
The bar staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you. Nibbles were constantly brought to your table and replenished frequently.
I was here over Christmas and the hotel looked stunning, the Christmas Eve gala meal was amazing with fresh tiger prawns, etc being cooked to order.
I would go there again, but it gets fully booked quickly and the brochure price is a bit too expensive!

The hotel was immaculate and our room (sea view superior) had tea and coffee making facilities as well as a TV showing, amongst other things, BBC1 and BBC World. There is also pay TV which is very cheap. The staff were excellent, helpful and attentive. In my opinion, the only way to obtain the best from this hotel would be to book all inclusive and do it in the UK as it is cheaper that way.
The full all inclusive (as opposed to the drinks only) gives you access to lunches, snacks, tea and cake, ice creams etc. and will almost guarantee you will put weight on. We were there for 10 days and had an excellent time, with virtually no complaints.
Downsides? the pool is a bit small if you want to swim for exercise, the hotel is a bit remote from habitation - apart from a couple of shops and restaurants opposite, there is no toilet on the same floor as the main bar. Not big deals if you want a relaxing holiday and can walk a few yards.
Ups? Excellent food with plenty of variety. We took packed lunches a couple of times instead of the restaurant lunch. Delivered in a cool box, they contained more than enough to keep you going. (If you were still peckish on your return and couldn't wait for dinner there are also snacks available), pleasant rooms and attentive staff.
The entertainment was about average for Thomson (where are all the funny comedians?) but was passable with one exception in the unlikely guise of an Elvis impersonator who was excellent. Usual Thompson Gold crowd of middle aged to elderly with a sprinkling of young couples. If you are looking for a relaxed holiday in the sun and don't mind drinking the gassy local beer and passable local wine, I would recommend this place.

We have just had a week at this hotel and it was great, even the weather was excellent.
Food, the food was above average and plentiful, there were a lot of sauces, so if you like plain English food, you may be restricted in choice but there will be something that you will enjoy.
The room was excellent, it had been refurbished and the cleanliness was amongst the best I have experienced. The whole hotel in fact was spotless. The facilities in the room were good although if you want English TV then you will be disappointed, There is sky in the Bar.
The pool is good, although it was a bit chilly at this time of the year, there are plenty of sun beds, again at this time of year I suspect that in summer it is a bit of a bun fight.
The Gym was ok, there are the usual array of machines, a bit old but useable and a nautilus and some free weights. You can go anytime, I think I was the only one using it.
The bar service was good, and the all inclusive option was good value, although we booked this in the UK, it was dearer if booked at the hotel.
The entertainment team were excellent the two young girls tried really hard to please everybody and the resident band tried hard to play something for everyone. As usual at a gold the slant is towards geriatrics who can waltz.
The location is as described in the brochure, remote, we tend to stay in the sun so it didn't matter to us.
All in all a great place which I would rate second to the Panorama Marina in Ibiza.

We had a good holiday at this hotel. The strong points were the food and the staff; meals were very good both in choice and quality, and the service excellent (those who didn't like it were those who couldn't take the dry Cypriot humour!). Bar and lounge service was also cheerful and prompt.
We would reckon accommodation to be adequate rather than good; the room was clean and of a decent size, so no complaints, but nothing to write home about. As we were there at Easter we didn't need to try out the air conditioning (but the weather was gorgeous, like a mild English summer).
The pool area is very pleasant, with a decent poolside bar area and a well-kept grassed space for loungers. It has to be said that the "beach" really isn't; there's a very little sand, but that's it.
The hotel's clientele tends towards middle-aged couples; this was fine by us, but might bother some. Certainly if you're looking for entertainment, this is not the hotel for you; there's not much apart from what the reps put on. The hotel is a long way north of Paphos town (about 4 km), so you can't just wander in after dinner (it's also a busy road with no pavement). However, during the day there are very regular and cheap buses which stop right outside the hotel, so getting in and out of town is no problem.
Overall we were very satisfied, and the only reason we would not return is that we always like to go to new places.

I have just come back from getting married in Paphos Cyprus and what can I say - it was fantastic!!
Everything was organised through our tour operator Thomson or through the hotel (Atlantica Golden Beach) and everything ran without any problems. We had a fantastic day and would love to do it all over again I enjoyed it that much.
The hotel couldn't do enough for us, all the staff were really friendly, and the food was out of this world. It was a little out of Paphos but we never found that to be any bother as the buses were very frequent.
The whole holiday and wedding was very relaxed and all my guests enjoyed themselves as well.
Anyone thinking of getting married in Paphos Cyprus - go for it, you won't be disappointed!
