We were a party of 6 and were accommodated in first rate very modern suites overlooking the lake. The standard of all the suites was nothing short of exceptional and the cuisine very good. The staff were all very welcoming and put themselves out to make one feel at home; nothing was too much trouble. We would rate the standard of this hotel superior even to the Weisser Rossl. We all would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to all our friends.

First time in Austria, but not the last. It was at the Cortisen Hotel where we were made to feel so at home, with all the warm and cosy surroundings of the lounges, the dining room with its excellent cuisine and wide selection of fine wines.

We had a very comfortable room with the most amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains, quite breathtaking. Roland the proprietor owns a wide collection of amazing books which we were allowed to take to our room to read and relax with. All the staff were professional, helpful and very friendly; nothing was too much trouble for them to please their guests.

We would absolutely one hundred percent recommend this excellent hotel to anyone. We'll be back!

Wonderful hotel in the perfect location. Very quiet but only a few minutes walk to the centre. Food was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Only about an hour bus ride from Salzburg. St Wolfgang itself was beautiful. Had a ride on a horse and carriage and the scenery was breath-taking. Would have no hesitation recommending it to others. Carolyn. Louth. Lincs.

Our stay at the Cortisen was a most pleasant stay. The hotel was of the highest standard, the food was outstanding and the staff you couldn’t ask to be more pleasant and helpful. Our ski instructor James was of a very high standard and made you feel at ease on the slops. He made the holiday one to remember as he made are skiing group have a wale of a time, and achieve things we never thought we would at the beginning of the week, like skiing from the top of Pastalm on own at the end of the week.



The awards ceremony on Thursday, was another night we will never forget as the ski instructors all let their hair down and joined in with the celebrations. It was night were the dinks were following and everybody was enjoying themselves.



The only critiscm that we have was with the tour company itself as we felt the girls in charge of our resort lacked experience and confidence in the job. They were not very oranganised and found it difficult to communicate with the guests.



Overall the ski instructors and the hotel staff made our holiday one that we certainly wont forget in a hurry, as we hade an experience and holiday of a life time. Which was made possible by are ski instructor James and the hotel staff.

My wife, two teenagers and myself just returned from magical Christmas holiday in St Wolfgang absolutely brilliant, loads of snow, Christmas markets and breathtaking picture postcard scenery. Plenty of skiing and non skiing activities, bus to ski area leaves twice daily from outside Cortisen hotel, ski hire equipment for hire from shop next door.



Hotel Cortisen spotlessly clean and well furnished, well equipped gym and sauna/steam room. Good location 5 minutes walk from centre and right on lake front. good walking trails nearby plus ferry to lakeside villages.



Hotel staff friendly and courteous, buffet breakfast good and evening meal excellent with gourmet cooking(my wife wanted to kidnap the chef). Good choice for top class hotel in quiet scenic resort.

My husband and myself were on holiday at the Cortisen Am See - a **** hotel - in St Wolfgang, Austria for two weeks in August 2005.



This is the first time we have been there and wish to advise anyone who is considering this Hotel to book it without any hesitation. It is spotlessly clean - very tastefully decorated and the rooms are excellently furnished and kept. I had a PBWCBLV room which included two arm chairs - table - writing desk and chair - TV - High Fi system for radio and cassette - alarm clock and on the balcony a table and chairs.


There are two lounges for the guests with very comfortable leather arm chairs and settees - and each day one gets cake and coffee from 4pm/5.30pm each day - there is also a free boat trip on the lake.



The food is excellent with a variety of choices - they accommodated for me when I was not able to take what was on the menu because of health problems, without any trouble.



The staff are so friendly and helpful at all times - nothing is a bother for them.



A great hotel - book up and try for yourself.
