A mixed ability group of 6 of us (twenty something’s) travelled to the Seiwald with Crystal Ski in Feb this year (2009)and had a wonderful holiday.
The hotel was clean and typically Tirolean in its furnishings. The rooms are a good size with Austrian style twin beds (in Austria these also class as a double). The bathrooms were clean and tidy.
The food in the Hotel was excellent and provided real variety throughout the week. The breakfasts had all of the usual offerings and the four course meal was something to look forward to on returning from the slopes. Vegetarians beware though as with most Austrian cuisine meat is a big part of the menu (though we loved this!!) One of the best desserts was the "omelette of lady fingers" (which turned out to be a delicious pear sponge!
Having read the previous reviews I agree that the cellar bar is not a centre of thriving nightlife but provided there are enough people still in the bar they were happy to stay open until gone 12. If you want a livelier night then head to Costellos at the far end of Kirchdorf (about a 25min walk - though 2 - 3 bars on the way. Also nearby St Johann is worth a visit for a few nights out (agree the taxi prices first).
The location of the Hotel its self is pretty good. Right at the foot of the Kirchdorf slope so you can essentially ski to the bottom of the lifts. The Kirchdorf ski area however is pretty small and even intermediates will get bored pretty quickly. It is however ideal if you arrive early and get a bonus half day free. A word of warning - If you wish to do this, buy extra slope passes rather than trying to add to your week pass (as possible in other resorts) a lesson learnt after a very nasty incident with the lift pass office in Kirchdorf!
The hotels best feature has to its indoor heated pool. You cannot beat relaxing there after a long day on the slopes. With comfy loungers and a maze of showers, saunas, steam rooms and plunge pools it really is a great way to wind down. NB Bathrobes are available for around 5Euros a week and towels are provided around the pool.
Easy to access ski resorts at Waidring Steinplatte or St Johann are both only 10mins bus rides away. During the week we visited both but returned to the Steinplatte more often than not.

We really enjoyed our week skiing. The hotel is lovely with great facilities. The staff are friendly and very helpful.
The downside to our stay was that there was not much choice for children at meal times and the cellar bar was not open, so we were unable to get a drink after 11pm. We would recommend this hotel to others as it is lovely and quiet and right on the doorstep for the skiing school and buses.

This is a excellent family hotel, with really good facilities.
We have stayed here several times and although we are all good skiers, we like the fact that the bus stop is 1 minute away and the lift pass takes you to about four other good ski area's, including the beautiful St Johann.
We are taking friend who are all non skiers this year, so the nursery slopes are right outside and the kids can not get lost!

Everything you need after a long day’s skiing, you can go for a swim in the indoor heated pool, then go for a sauna followed by a rest in the steam room then into the cold dip.
Also on site there is an indoor tennis court area where you can play tennis, football, table tennis, go to the gym, rooms with balcony and shower/bath, TV/radio. Plus if that’s not enough only 200 metres from the ski slopes.
Recommend you visited this hotel more than once to use all facilities available.

We are currently 7 of us staying at the Seiwald hotel. The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable, although in need of serious remodeling: the windows are not sealed and a constant freezing draft oozes through the cracks, at least in all 4 rooms we are renting.
Unfortunately, the meal options are of rather poor quality. Breakfast, although generous, is bland and basic fare (except for a nice choice of fresh breads). On the other hand, the fruits are usually dated, whether displayed in a basket or mixed in an ever recycled salad.
Dinners do not taste like home cooked, but rather like catered food from a public cafeteria, which guarantees rubbery meats and overcooked fish and pasta. The choice is poor, mainly in the kids' menu, and worst of all, the starters buffet has a definite taste of deja vu. It is mainly composed of recycled leftovers, some of which, in our experience, have been re-served for the last 3 dinners.
One annoying detail: you have to pay for tap water the outrageous price of 2 Euros for a one liter carafe! And also, forget about indulging in a real hot chocolate, as it comes with virtually no chocolate in it.
We will definitely not come back, considering the wide choice of hotels around of similar category but better quality.
