the marina royal palace is alovely hotel ,staff cant do enough and food wonderful.we payed for a sea view room for three and it was massive with a dressing room area and lovely large bathroom. the down side for us we went inlast week may for 2 weeks and the holiday park you can also use was not open, neither was the marina hotel and apparantly according to someone else this happened before and as they were booked in the cheaper hotel ,everyone was put in the marina palace. but towards the second week more was opened up ,so just be aware if you go early ,other than that i definatley reccommend it. i have been all inclusive to carribean and the quality was as good which i did not expect for the price. i was amazed how everyone was cleaning the pool areas and beach and everywhere in the hotel all the time it was spotless. the shows at night are first class ,not your usual boring ones with you being picked on for the entertainment of others. give it a try

We had a fantastic time at the Pelican last year. We have recommended it to friends who have just come back and also thoroughly enjoyed it. This year we are returning but upgrading to the Palace. An excellent resort. Always fastidiously clean, wide range of activities, superb food with huge range, quality evening entertainment, varied daytime activities to suit all tastes. A highly recommended holiday for people who enjoy activity and entertainment (not peace and quiet but you can find it if you want). I have no hesitation in recommending this suberb complex.

We staied at Royal Marina Palace for 7 days! everithing was very good! There was only one small problem: on the last day our acces card started to work impropperly but the problem was very soon fixed by the reception girl and the bellboy! The food was very good and for all tatstes(even my boy who is very spoiled love it)! The entertainment was very good, especially the night shows at the amphitheatre which again captivated my boy(was quite a surprise!) I had not the time to try the Archery range but every one said that it was very enjoyable! For me I wanted more Capoeira lessons(there were only 2 in that week)but you can not receive every little thing for every one! The entertaiment team was doing a very good job, very skillful especially the Capoeristas(who were brasilians)! I wood recomend this resort for families with children, not suited for noisy and agitated people! but for resting and relaxation it is perfect ! Everything was very clean and you could not see when they clen everything so well! except for the people that had jobs that needed to be seen it seemed that were few people in the resort! It was so relaxing! Almost everything you wanted with minimum disturbance! The concept of closed resort was new and very pleasant to me! No one who is not staing there is allowed to enter the resort! So there is allways space on the beach, at the pools, at the bars !You can go with all yor family or yor friens to the beachor even in the room to take a nap an leave your things on the beach till 18.00 with no problem! It felt veryy safe an relaxing! bravo Bulgaria!Bravo Duni! The most beautiful vacation!

Loved it from the moment we stepped into hotel. So clean and bright. Staff very friendly and helpful. We even saw staff picking seaweed from beach ! Food fantastic and plentiful, and spent many a peaceful night at bar where barstaff went out of their way to help.
Entertainment team were very enthusiastic with their pool side games and the shows that they put on at the amphitheatre.
Had great fun at Archery where again the staff were so helpful. But we really chose this hotel and location to just relax on beach which is exactly what we got. Oh and the cakes that are served each day at 4pm are to die for.
The one point that stands out about the complex is that it is so clean and tidy, we simply had the holiday of a lifetime.

hi
just thought id leave a wee comment, i am just back from duni, there were 6 of us four in early twenties and two in early fiftys, we had a brilliant time, on arrival a member of the staff took our suitcases to our rooms and give us very warm and helpful welcome especially when it was near 2 am!! the rooms were lovely huge bedroom and lovely marble bathroom. i felt so at home and it was very very clean. every morning we had a lovely buffet breakfast which suited evryone tastes from the picky eaters ( like myself) and the dinner and tea buffets were excellent , very goog varieties, i lived on the veg!! the whole hotel was very luxurious, and relaxing, the pool was huge and we were right beside the beach, the entertainers were fantastic at getting games organised and we only left 2 days to go shopping and to an aqua park. i thoroughky enjoyed the holiday nad would recommend it to anyone thinking of going, the only thing was it was out on its own, but the taxi into a brilliant village called sozopol is only about 8 minutes away with lots jewellery markets and pubs etc. so depressed now we back home, def would consider going again.
- Advice: excellent hotel
- Activities: watersports at resort and shopping in near villages

I've just arrived from one week holiday at the Marina Beach Duni Resort.
The Hotel is great...very clean and nice. I'll start with negative experience me and my friends had there.
We made the reservation for 4 double rooms, with a sea view at the beginning of May. We arrived there by cars (from Bucharest).
From the beginning everyone was smiling and very friendly at the reception BUT when we give our vouchers/reservations the girl from the reception told us that they don't have any more rooms with sea view...i repeat we made the reservation from the beginning of may.... paid fool package (7 nights, 4 double rooms with sea view)... AND they told us that they have no free room with a sea view... that one room will be available only next day.... and nothing about the others.....We were very upset... we asked to talk with the manager...and they called smb and told in Bulgarian "look there are some persons with sea view problem, the manager is not "here", you are the manager so take care what you will say.. and off course the pers from the phone, the "manager" couldn’t help us...
i am Ukrainian and understand quit well Bulgarian... so i heard when one person ("reception boss") told the other staff (other 2 girls) this guys will not receive sea view.... I COLDN'T BELIVE WHAT I HEAR.... and here "everything" started...
i went to "reception boss" and told her (in English) that i am Ukrainian and understood what she just said... she changed her face...and started to speak Russian with me .... so it was a lot of bla bla bla... at the end (after a hour and halph) ve received "an offer" of 4 rooms with sea view only on the next day...
Everything was OK, copying Turkish service but they should try much more to reach their services...
1. Food - OK (but one of child leaved the hotel with high temperature/food intoxication...
2. Doctor - asked for 100 Euro pay --- even if we had an international insurances (and only after explaining what means this insurances they understood it)
3. Rooms very clean (10 points from 10)
4. NO natural juices... even if they had plenty of fruits....
5. Coffee -- bad...
6. Beach area -- not for a 4 star hotel (Only Marina Palace has 5 stars, even if on most of the site all the hotels from the resort are presented as 5sarts hotels)
and all quests from the all hotels from the resort goes to the same beach...with a lot of shells in the sand...
In the last day we wanted to leave the resort at 9.15-9.30 BUT one of our cars was blocked in the parking place...and they couldn’t find the one of the 4 owners of those cars that was blocking our car....
they didn't know in which room were staying those owners of the cars.... so we spend an other 1.30 h at the reception trying to solve this problem...
the resort is ok....BUT not enoth experience/wil of the staff from the reception who was trying and vesting their and OUR time with explaining that i just work here... i am not responding for this problem ....
Wish you good holiday at this resort.
PS: Better learn Bulgarian before going there in holidays ;)

Hi i have just returned from a lovely holiday in the marina royal palace resort in Duni. The food was amazing with a great choice on offer every meal. The hotel was kept very clean and all swimming areas were kept immaculate. The beach was a short walk from the hotel. One small problem we encountered was that the third person in our party was expected to sleep on a sofa bed which was inadequate, this was soon resolved by putting two mattresses on the floor. Rooms were spacious and kept clean and tidy. Overall i would recommend this holiday if you want a restfull time away from the crowded cities maybe not suitable for young people looking for nightlife etc but great for families. I would go back again.

The pelican Hotel was clean and basic
The staff were ok,didn't really speak a lot of english
But the rep we had was great, he was a local and he was very helpful.
We couldn't believe that we could use any of the restaurants on the site
(apart from the royal) but who cares! there was so much choice, you needed to go for a long walk on the beach to burn it off! which was a few minutes walk from our hotel.
the entertainment at night was great, fun for all the family.
we went on day trips, but if you just wanted to chill by the pool, you could.
we had an amazing time and plan to go back again!
BUT the airport is horrible,go downstairs you might find a seat!

My husband and 2 children were looking forward to a lovley Honeymoon at this '5 star' hotel, apparently with lots going on throughout the day, unfortunatly the weather was appauling which then meant that the entertainmant staff.in turn thought that they would have the nite off....sorry but this not on..my children were bored,we were bored the old people were bored and i think the only ones enjoying themselves were the living dead...
What a shame this hotel is beautiful, very plush-at that is it
the staff will only speak to u if you are german, russian or bulgarian, they are not informative when u ask them a question and look quite peeved at the fack you have dared to speak to them.
the girls in the kids club saved the holiday for my children, they were lovley to them and did their best again thought if your child is not already bi-lingual,it will be by the time you go home as video time is always in german in our case we had 2 kids, and 1 little(yrs)girl who was german and my kids were not allowed to watch a film in english...........well our money spends the same as anybody eles and it is disgusting in this day and age where there is still a stigma about who you r and what country u come from..we were told her parents would not be happy about it.what more can be said.
we had many issues about this hotel its rude, rude staff.lack of entertainment, lack of intrest in wether anyone was enjoying their holiday,
but i also must say that had the sun been out in its full glory we would not have minded so much, this hotel could be fantastic it needs a lot more planning..ie,if there is bad weather there should be a backup plan for entertainment, the dancers should not be doing the same danceses nite after nite, but just putting different music to it......they r wasted at the moment, because they are good now but they could be great.
now about First Choice we only booked our holiday a couple of weeks befor we went
we were not told tha****was end of season and that everything would be closing down, there was only 2 hotels left open..i asked for a livley destionation-again it was not
and most importantly we found out that we had payed at least 1000 POUNDS MORE THAT MANY OTHER FAMILYS OF 4
we are not happy
would we ever go back to Duni
NEVER,NEVER,NEVER
unless we reach the age of 290000000

Oh My Gosh i have just had the most amazing holiday ever , i spent the hol week saying " i love this place i just love it " i must of drove my husbond crazy , but he did agree with me it was just fantastic . we stayed at the Royal Marina for one week and it was just perfect . there is not one thing i could or would want to complain about .we arrived at 4 in the morning and was shown to our room by a very helpful bell boy . the room was very pleasent , we didnt have a sea veiw but it actually turned out to be quite nice and peace full. we attended the welcome meeting the following day were we greeted by the best holiday rep i have ever met , his name was Barny with 20yrs of experience behind him he new exactly what he was doing and insisted no matter what time of day noon or nght if we had any problems to call him as that is what he was there for . thankfully we never needed to call him . We arranged a trip on a catamarang which was just superb , it cost about £50 for the both of us and it was a bargin i didnt want to get off. The rest of our holiday was spent relaxing around the amazing pools and beautiful beach with its lovely warm clear sea . we didnt really do much more then sun bath but for those of you who find this a little boring well there are no end of activities for you to take part in . for example. twice a day they have water areobics , volly ball , shuffle board , latin dance classes , capawera lessons , step arobics , yoga , hip hop dancing , artchery , ect ect the list goes on , there are even massarge huts on the beach, oh it was heaven . All beach towels are provided you just need to leave a deposit at reception . food and drink are severed all day so you will never go hungry , and if you ever need water there are huge fridges full of litre bottles which just help yourself to . the food i have to say was out of this world it was just so tasty even my husband who is so fussy managed to go threw four course every meal time and he's not a big man . Oh and the salads are just amazing so much to choose from i was so spoilt . we also took advantage of the a la cart resturants which are also free , and Oh my they were just superb especialy the italian and we should know we were in italy last yr and no resturant there could beat this one in bulgaria it was fantastic . if you wanted to you could eat in a different resturant every day as there are 4 hotels and 1 holiday park all attached to each other so you will never get bored . the entertainment team where very very talented they put on wounderful shows every evening . on the thursday they organised a beach party with a huge bonfire, bar b q , DJ and bar followed by fire displays , fire works oh and more but ill let that be a surprise . it was great everyone dancing around on the sand it was perfect . i truely recommed this holiday to everyone , iv read some of the bad reviews and they had to dig really hard to find some thing bad to say about the place . some one commented on recepetion staff , these girls were lovely they did the best they could to help everyone there english was not fluent but they did there up most best to help . some people complained about not having a room to stay in till there pick up . well we were picked up at 1.00 am and we had no problems we didnt choose to hire a room we enjoyed a day on the beach and then used the delux saune facilitys to shower and get changed and then enjoyed our last dinner followed by a show by the talent team and then sat on the amazingly comfortable sofas in reception drinking tea and eating even more cake as there seems to be an endless supply , they even dished up more meals at 12.00am so some people sat in the resturant eating . there really isnt a problem if your on a late flight , if you have children it may be difficult but as the rep will tell you if you resever your room at the beginning of the week there will be no problems .I can say nothing negertive about this place it was like Heaven on eartha nd anyone who decides to go there will have a truely fab time so go a head and book it i know i am .
P.S dont be put off by the review were someone has wrote the pools were to deep they obviously did not bother to look around , there are at least 7 pools to choose from and children seemed to be playing in them all the time and they had no problems and neither did the people joining in the aqua arobics every day . Have a fun holiday x

Got back last week from a holiday in Bulgaria. The Marina Royal Palace hotel was absolutely superb, comfortable, clean with spacious rooms. There was more food for each meal than I have ever seen before in my life. However, it got very tiresome very quickly. Most of the guests were German and the hotel catered mainly for German tastes. By the end of the week we were sick of the sight of it. We also found a lot of the staff unfriendly, the reception staff couldn't muster a smile between them. The pool in the hotel was useless to me. I'm 5 ft 2 ins tall and not a strong swimmer and the pool was very deep so as I couldn't put my feet on the bottom I couldn't go in. We booked a couple of excursions; we visited the town of Sozopol. Excellent morning and the guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly. We also went on the shopping in Bourgas trip. We didn't realise that there are no big shops in Bourgas so were very disappointed. All the shops were very small. The last day of the holiday was the worst day of my life. We had to vacate our room by 12 noon and we were unable to find another room as everything was booked up. Our flight was in the middle of the night so we were being picked up from the hotel at 2am. 14 hours! We had 14 hours of feeling like hobos with nowhere to go. We had to kill 14 hours! We could hang out in either the Lagoon Bar or Reception. Both were smoking areas. What started out as a 5 star hotel turned into a sleazy, smoky bar with very uncomfortable seats. Never again!

Just back from Duni, the best holiday I have had in years, stayed at the Marina Beach, the hotel & staff were first class, the animation team were the best I have ever seen in all my travels. There were plenty of options of food & drink, honestly I do not understand how anyone could give this complex a bad review, perhaps it is that they do not understand different cultures.
