The main reason we booked this hotel was because of its alleged suitability for families, however on arrival they had us booked into seperate hotel blocks!, even after much complaining, and being seperated for a night the best they could come up with was two rooms in the same block, but still on seperate floors - not good enough when you have children to look after!.

The lift to our rooms worked very infrequently, and on one occasion we were all trapped for over half an hour before a guest allerted staff and we were released - the emergency/alarm buttons did not work, and we did not even receive an apology from the hotel staff for our troubles.

The food was probably as good as could be expected given the large scale it is prepared for, rather like a big works canteen quality.

The staff all seemed to be a bit apathetic, and there was very little signs of anyone being enthusiastic in their work.

The location was very good, in fact - nice place, shame about the people who work there!.

We would definitely return to Bulgaria, but certainly not too the Pelican Hotel, the management needs replacing, and the staff needs a lesson on how to treat guests properly.

I stayed in the Belleville Hotel, it's absolutely lovely standing a little bit aside, but not far from the beach and all the animation. It's a good five-star hotel with four storeys, so it's rather quiet and nice. I loved the lobby bar there. In general these were excellent holidays with all inclusive board, good food, 4 o'clock coffee and cake, nice service and the lovely Black Sea. I liked the climate there it's not humid, as it is often the case in other countries' resorts. I would advise to visit this resort to anybody. Thank you, Duni!

We stayed at Royal Marina palace 5 star 2 adults 35 one child 13 who had a ball. Met up with some lovely English people, we were the minority, all in our hotel was til 2 am then the sky bar til 4 am if wanted were you pay. We didn’t think much of trips offered mainly as our daughter was having the time of her life there good entertainment so my daughter said we didn’t go disco kids are totally safe, staff very friendly.

Lovely views no fights for sun beds, no need to take your own towels as provided fresh whenever you want entertainment more geared up for Germans but if you meet up with some English it makes it more fun. Drink was ok for all and I surprised myself I ate and I’m fussy will say they we all experienced upset tummies. But this is the norm.

You can let the older ones go off as they totally safe as long as in a group. To be honest ourselves and the people we met up with didn’t see much of our kids they were too busy having fun. All normal water sports if you want to chill for 2 weeks this is for you.

Personally I found a week enough, but that could be because I was not too well. We spent hardly any money as you only need it if you want to go out. We went to Promsco about 3 times, good fake clothes etc and nice to get out of complex as I did feel bit cooped up, but saying that I didn’t use facilities to the full. In Promsco we got bottle of Becks for 30p so we brought these to sit on the balcony with kids club and teen club where they get to use waters ports for free once a day.

Totally chill out holiday without dipping in pocket 4 kids all the time taxis reasonable they wait for you but I didn’t like the fact of being on a time limit they give you 2-3 hours in but everyone is different. Also found it easier to tip on first few days bout 10 lev and you well looked after.

I was worried our daughter would be bored, but she loved it. We were in bed most nights before her, don’t where she gets that sort of behaviour from. Also the jeep safari was meant to be good and sozopol, but we didn’t try these. Think if more English would definitely go back as hotel was lovely. Wouldn’t bother with the hairdressers though, sauna, steam room, great gym was 10 lev a day. Airport bit of a nightmare but when you arrive at the Royal Marina you’re in heaven, they can’t do enough for you.

(Pelican Hotel).

This was one of the best holidays we have ever taken! It’s a 4 star hotel and we got a great deal for 2 weeks. The food was superb with a large number of chefs cooking the meals there and then for you. You are made to feel so welcome and the alcohol available does not just limit you to local beers and spirits. You can have everything from behind the bar for free! We were drinking champagne as though it was water!

The rooms are very nice, with thorough cleaning every day. The hotel is within a very large walled area (for added security) which also includes two other hotels (one other 4 star and a large 5 star). The hotels are set far apart so it is in no way cramped. It is basically like a village! You can use the facilities for the other 2 hotels including most restaurants. There is plenty to do with shows being held most nights in the amphitheatre, a disco and there are tennis courts and a horse riding club. The hotels also share a private stretch of beach which has water sports available for a small charge (such as water skiing, windsurfing, a banana boat) and there were small boat trips which were quite relaxing.

The hotels also set up coach trips to small villages along the coast such as Sozopol which is very quaint when you find the right area down by the sea. I recommend you take a taxi to this place as it gives you as long/little as you like and its roughly the same price as the bus tour. Nessebar is also a must see. A little fishing village. But when looking for bars or cafes, look down the side streets; they’re cheaper. We found one where you sat on a balcony and watched the locals drying out crabs as ornaments on the opposite balcony!

We would definitely return in the future to this amazing resort. It is especially good for those who can't do much walking as everything in the resort is within walking distance.

We also visited Sunny Beach which is full of clubs and bars; we thought this was nice for a day trip, but we weren’t looking for a clubbing holiday this time round so Duni was much more chilled.
