We stayed at the Do Golfe for one week. I dont really know how i stumbled upon them, but they are fabulous. They are small, but extreamly clean and tidy. The maids visited everday (even Sunday) The poolbar food is lovely and reasonably priced. The pools are very clean and well mamaged. We did have a small amount of noise when in bed from kids clip clopping up stairs, but it can be expected i supose. It would take about an hour to walk down to the Marina, the road & paths are all now finished so a walk is ok now. We have flights boked for 2009 and we will definately be booking Do Golfe.

Apartments were just out of Vilamoura and roughly 5 euros for a taxi to the Marina. Apartments were bright and fresh and situated in the centre of all the major golf courses. They rooms extremely clean and maid serviced them each day. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet and peaceful and you did not have to fight for a lounger! Bar snacks were ok, but would not recommend restaurant food. Restuarant food and drinks were quite expensive and not that great, although there was a happy hour for drinks, which deducted 30% from bar bill. Pools were cleaned daily and lovely to swim in. There is a local supermarket (roughtly a 10 minute walk) - this is quite expensive, but saves you having to get a taxi into Vilamoura itself (if you do decide to go into Vilamoura for groceries - go the the Jaffers supermarket - its the cheapest around). When ordering taxi's please bear in mind to book 20 mins in advance (particularly on Saturday's and Sunday's). All in all, we would go back to the Do Golf Aparments.

As first time visitors to Portugal we booked our week long holiday through our travel agent and travelled with Thomsons. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment and that was more than adequate for us 2. There were 2 single beds in the bedroom and a pull out bed in the lounge. The kitchen was equipped with microwave, hob, kettle and all the necessary crockery and cutlery. All areas of the apartment were immaculate. Cleaning was carried out every day as was towel change.
Breakfast can be purchased for 6 Euros for those who have not included it and is a buffet style. Meals can be purchased throughout the day at the bar up to 11pm and the dining room always has spaces for those who wish to dine in.
The pool area, which was only a dozen or so steps from our apartment was also very clean and very quiet as a lot of groups who visit are golfers who are away during the day. It was lovely to swim in a pool which I had all to myself.
The only downside was the courtesy bus which only runs down to the marina and beach a couple of times a day, once in the morning and once at about 5pm so we needed to use taxis most of the time. This said it has not deterred us from going back again and have already booked for June 2008 and are in the process of booking for September.

We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday at this resort. We have been to Portugal a few times now, staying at different resorts but by far this was the best, very clean, friendly and food was great. Lots to do, free shuttle bus down to marina at selected times, if times don't suit its not far to walk if you feel like it.
Our room was spotless, clean towels every day we were there, ladies friendly and all staff were great. Highly recommended.
This complex was exactly what we...

This complex was exactly what we wanted for a relaxing holiday. The studio was well equipped and beautifully clean. The maid service was excellent, clean towels every day and linen changed twice per week. The restaurant was very good and the reasonable prices and great deserts led to a substantial weight gain for both of us. The gardens and pool are well maintained and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Having hired a car and visiting the entire Algarve we certainly felt we had chosen the best area for our holiday.

Accommodation was very good, villas had plenty of space with well maintained gardens all around. Cleaners did a good enough job however towels only changed twice a week. Pool was some times over crowded as it wasn’t really big enough to accommodate entire complex. On site supermarket sold pretty much every thing you needed. On site restaurant ok.
Due to situation taxes are required to marina but only costing no more than 5 euros. A nice quiet complex ideal for a very relaxing holiday. Finally Tessa looks a lot older than she really is!
