It's my 10th time almost to the same hotel. It's one of the best hotels in Hurghada based on my experience and one of the best resorts in general.
Keep doing the good job as I'm coming again

Fun Time!!
9 / 10
Aug 2011, Biffer

Hi there,
I have just come back from the Hilton Hurghada Resort Hotel after staying for a week with my daughter.
We both really enjoyed our stay and had a fantastic time. The food was good with plenty of variety for all tastes. Our room was kept spotlessly clean by Maher and Amr ensured that everything in the room was up to scratch and we had everything we needed. The retaurant staff and other staff around the hotel were also very helpful and friendly.
The amenities were also very good, large pool with a separate children's pool, clean beach and plenty of activities going on to keep people amused.
The highlight of the holiday for me and my daughter was the boat trip to Paradise Island with a chance to learn snorkelling, a first for me!! I really would recommend it. I was very impressed with the standard of the excursion it was very well organised together with very high standards of health and safety. Kemo, the snorkelling instructor was excellent and very professional as were the boat crew, Walid and also Peppo the photographer who took some great pictures of us all, on the boat and in the water!! The food that was provided was also very good.
I would also have to mention Oskar the camel and his owner whose name I cannot recall who did endless camel rides round the beach.
The only slight drawbacks I felt were that the bottled water should have been more plentiful in the room. Instead of one bottle per room a day another bottle would not have gone a miss, although you could get glasses of water in the lobby bar and restaurants etc. And for some reason milk was not considered by some of the waiting staff to be a part of the all inclusive package which I thought was a bit odd. Milk was freely available at breakfast but getting some to take away was a bit more difficult. However, these were just minor points.
I would highly recommend this hotel and would definately have no hesitation in going back.

If you are all inclusive, then dont bother as the food is terrible and not much choice also there is a limitation on what and how you consume!! Very bad for hilton standards, otherwise staff very helpful!! PERSONALLY I WOULD RECOMMEND INTER-CONTI NEXT DOOR

After a lovely Nile Cruise in the first week of our holiday, we came to Hilton Hurghada Resort for the second week and oh dear. I was with my boyfriend and his family, in total 9 of us.
As we arrived the bell boy took our luggage for us to the room after check-in although the guy at the desk told us to wait for more information but at the same time the bell boy was taking our luggage so we just went with our luggage. The rooms are as seen in the pictures. I would say though that if you look in the bathroom, the tiles are not all clean and there are a few marks here and there. There is a mini-bar too with everything from biscuits to chocolate to wine ready for you but obviously if you take advantage of this, they will put it on your room bill. We actually got the staff to empty the mini-bar so we could fill it with our bottled water and also not to give in to temptation. It is not a big fridge and it is not that cold either which I found a bit disappointing. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of storage too. We had a pool view also. The staff cleaned the rooms once a day. If you wanted your towels replacing you had to put them into the bath, if not just hang them up. The staff did not enter our room unannounced and always knocked.
The hotel grounds were lovely. There are all sorts of stalls in the grounds from wood furniture to necklaces to henna tattoos and sand ornaments. The beach is lovely also.
Restaurants. Well. There is a snack bar right at the end of the beach that sells burgers and they were lovely although my boyfriend did just want a plain burger with nothing on it but salad and it took some time for them to understand. The burger came but with jalapeno peppers on it and he didnt ask for that so they gave me and my bf a free coca cola drink because of it which i thought was nice. It is very cheap there too, ranging from 29 LE - 49 LE for a burger and coca cola's were 16 LE.
Lagoona restaurant - they served seafood mostly but did steak and chicken which is why we ate there. The steak that they do is big and tasty and if you don't want rice, they serve you chips. The chicken was nice too. It was quite reasonable in price too. Oh and they have a fishtank in the middle of the restaurant, not a big one but its cool.
La Casa is an Italian restaurant but we never ate there but 2 other people from our party went there and they said it was nice.
Blue Sky restaurant now this is what lets the hotel down. We paid 180 LE each for a buffet that was rubbish. There was all sorts of food that didnt look that appetizing. What outraged us was that my boyfriend's mum saw the chef that was handling raw chicken with gloves on, cooked the chicken and then handled raw beef and then cooked the beef. We got the manager and the chef over to tell them that what he had done was wrong. The manager apologized and the chef offered to cook some more beef for them but we said no. It totally put me off the food, I didn't have any meat at all and just stuck to pasta. They did not give us a discount on the food or free drinks or anything but the chef knew he did wrong and he changed his gloves immediately after however the damage had already been done. I would definitely say do not eat there. It is a rip off. We had to eat there for breakfast as we were bed and breakfast and it was ok. The croissants were fresh one day but then were not the next.
Hard Rock Cafe. I would definitely say eat there. It is really good value for money. It is 20 minutes from the Hilton to the right. They do burgers, pasta and steaks and you get free re-fills. I pointed the re-fills out because we did not know until I had drunk my drink and then got a re-fill thinking I would be charged but wasn't. Take full advantage of that! I had pasta topped with chicken one night and then a burger another night and they were both lovely meals. Really nice staff work there and we got up and danced to the YMCA there too. Go to Hard Rock Cafe.
With regards to the water, if you walk to the right of the Hilton down the main road and go to Bavly Star (which is on a huge Pepsi sign), the water (Nestle big bottle) is sealed and costs 2.50 LE each. I would probably get 4 at a time as that was how many we could get in the fridge without overfilling it hence emptying the mini-bar.
Hurghada however is not to my taste. I would not go their again. I hate the fact that you get hassled wherever you go. When you walk to Hard Rock Cafe you will get hassled. They ask you all sorts of questions and being British i feel rude not talking to them but you just have to walk by no matter what. It is just so annoying when you get hassled. It makes you not want to buy anything at all. I was also wary of the deli-belly that Egypt is notorious for and even though we were so careful (brushing our teeth with bottled water and using the anti-bacterial hand-wash after handling money etc) I still got diarrhoea but no sickness and I felt drained most days. You have to drink loads of water to try and stop this from happening and try not to spend too long in the sun. The heat was getting too hot to handle just before we left which is why I was happy to leave to get away from the heat and get back to normal.
Overall, good hotel, some fantastic staff, some not fantastic, grounds were good and guaranteed sun. P.S - if you want to buy some perfume go to the guys at the side of reception, they are great, they make you red tea and its lovely and is very good company.

I stayed at the Hurghada Hilton in October of 2008 for two weeks. Now this was a fabulous holiday. My (grown) son and I have no complaints at all. Our rooms were immaculate and we found the housekeeping staff very helpful and good at their jobs. We had no issues at all with staff entering our rooms without permission (as in a previous review). We found the food to our liking, the facilities were very clean, all staff members were polite and helpful, the diving lessons (by EuroDivers) were wonderful and in fact the whole holiday was the best! We often took the local bus from right outside the hotel to Hurghada Old Town (for 3 Egyptian £) to enjoy the local food, music, shopping etc. We will certainly be returning to Hurghada for another relaxing vacation.

We were on a 10 day tour through...
2 / 10
Jun 2008, Ms BOC O''Connor

We were on a 10 day tour through Egypt and the Hilton Hunghada was where we were spending our final two nights. This was meant to be a relaxing two nights in a 'Five Star' resort after all the sight seeing in blistering heat. We were in for a shock. We arrived at 1pm after traveling from Luxor in the tourist convoy, on arrival our group of 40 were told that book-in was at 2pm but they would try to accommodate us earlier. Our rep suggested we have lunch and he would get us as the rooms became available. We were eventually given our rooms at 3:30pm two and a half hours after our arrival and an hour and a half after offical checkin!!! This delay was just as well as it took between 45 mins and an hour and 20 mins for our group to get our lunch after ordering. For any 5 star resort to use the fact they could not handle the numbers (40???) as an excuse to the terrible service is a joke.
The rooms were 5 star quality and the pool was lovely. While the beach was clean and there were plenty of beds there was no one to assist you to get a bed. This is fairly standard for any 5 star resort I have even had this service at better 4 star resorts.
The food and staff were definitly not up to 5 star standard. The staff didn't seem to have basic training never mind that of a 5 star establishment.
A very serious word of warning to any girls taveling by themselves. All house keeping staff are male. We had house keeping enter our room even though the Do not Disturb sign was on the door. After this occured we put the bolt on the door. Even worse while in the shower I heard the room door opening and when I went to the door I saw the same house keeping staff member with their hand inside the door on the bolt. On speaking to other members of our group they all reported similar things as well as some of the single women receiving phone calls in the middle of the night. We made a complaint to the hotel and to our rep but even though the hotel stated they took our complaint seriously and would deal with it the same member of house keeping staff walked into our room on the last morning while the Do not Disturb sign was on the door.

21/01/2008

just got back from a week in the hilton, after being on a cruise boat the week before, this place was a shock to the system.we arrived at the hotel about 8.15pm after a long bus ride across the desert in the rain! the convoy only drove about 15 mph so it was a long ride. Our first impression of it was an airport lobby, the atmosphere was cold and uninviting and our room was the same. after we took our bags to the room we went for a beer,we wanted a nice quiet bar just to relax,we didnt fancy the main reception bar area as it was very noisy and full of people smoking,so we asked a guy if there was a quieter bar so he sent us across to the aqua bar, well this bar was like an airport lobby to ,shops included! we wanted to get back on the bus and go home, there was 10 people from our cruise that felt exactly the same, the next day we asked if we could change rooms as we requested a sea view,so we got moved to the sea front in an upstairs villa,it was a smaller room but had a nicer feel to it although the bathroom was as grubby as the first one we had,as far as the foods concerned it was awfull ,it was cold and pretty much the same every day,i had toast for breakfast as i was sick of cold scambled eggs and mushrooms,as the week went on we settled in,we spent every day on the beach as their was plenty of wind breaks and boy did you need one, as the wind was very cold.you also get hassled all the time by people wanting to sell you massages, trips out ect,it really gets a pain in the backside, the evening entertainment is rubbish, we hated it when the evening came cos there was nothing to do,it was down to the staff that we stuck the whole week, they were fantastic, they love the british as we talk to them and they can have a laugh with us,they dont get that from all the russians and all the rest of them, they can be really arrogant and rude to the staff, and the staff dont deserve it,as they really are great guys, they cant do enough for you and they are so friendly, the good points about this hotel are the staff, the pool area and gardens and the beach, its not proper sand on the beach,it is very gritty but the lagoons are lovely, and there was plenty of beds.the bad points are the bar areas ,the food ,the bathrooms, and not enough british people, you tend to feel like your out of place, the over all feel of the hotel was like being in an airport the hotel is just too big. I would not recommend this hotel if your after a warm friendly enviroment as your not gonna get it

Jul 2007, Mr I H Currie

Second visit to this hotel in 2 years and still great. Plenty to do or very relaxing as you choose.
Good for diving snorkelling as hotel has own pier and boats. Restaurants are good but you can also wander down the quiet strip and eat in other restaurants.
The rooms are high standard and staff very friendly. Excellent centre for visiting Cairo and going into the desert to ride camels, dune buggying etc.

Apr 2007, Mrs Ann Fitzsimmons

Stayed here for the second week of our holiday after cruising down the Nile so a very welcome rest for the second week.
This was one of the most beautiful hotel/resort that I have stayed in.
The complex was very clean and the gardens were well cared for.
The meals were fine and the prices were no dearer than any other holiday resort in Spain!
I would recommend this hotel complex for anyone who wishes to have a very relaxing holiday.
Beautiful scenery/ lovely complex/ very clean/ good food!!

We spent the first week of a two week...
9 / 10
Jan 2007, Mr B STREEK

We spent the first week of a two week holiday here, the second week on the Red Sea Magic cruise aboard the Thomson Celebration.
You can see that review on the Cruises page of this site.
THE HOTEL (9/10) is a self contained resort with a main 'services' building and the rooms in separate small 3 storey buildings on either side of a central pool and garden complex.
This leads down to the private beach which is amply provided with sun beds and parasols.
The rooms are a good size with large comfortable beds, plenty of storage space, a nice bathroom and effective aircon/heating. All have balconies overlooking the pool, the gardens or the beach.
The gardens were well tended and full of colourful flowers, the pool was clean and fairly warm and there were plenty of sun beds etc.
THE FOOD. (9/10) We spent our first 4 days on a B & B basis, having lunch in one of the various bars around the complex and eating in the various restaurants that are also within the complex.
The food in all of them was inexpensive but excellent and the Egyptian wines we tried were also very good value for money at £10 a bottle. The 'New World' and French wines were very expensive, starting off at around £25 for a bottle you can buy in Sainsbury's for £5. The Egyptian wines were a very acceptable substitute!
For our last 3 days we decided to try the 'all inclusive' package at £15pp which was still good value for money but the buffet style food wasn't to the same standard as the (private) restaurants.
The wines, beers and spirits, all local, were OK but the soft drinks like orange juice were horrible.
THE STAFF (10/10) were delightful. The waiters were always smiling and joking and trying to teach us some basic Arabic which worked well outside of the hotel in the downtown shops.
The room stewards kept the room spotless and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They even made up amazing shapes (swans, birds, hearts etc) from the towels and our nightclothes, each day different from the last.
THE TRIPS (10/10) were many and varied, with Luxor and Cairo available with overnight stays and Cairo even by air!
We were there to wind down so only went out on the 4x4 desert and stars safari. This was a 'must do' trip ending with a buffet meal at a Bedouin encampment after watching the sun set behind the mountains.
After the meal, we spent nearly an hour looking at the night sky through powerful self tracking telescopes and for the first time in many years, we saw the 'Milky Way' again.
One 20 year old on the safari with us didn't even know of its existence or even what it was!
THOMSON REP (10/10) Kelly was very cheerful, informative and helpful although very busy with all the hotels she had to get to. Also very brave to drive in Egypt where the only rule of the road seems to be 'blow your horn whenever possible'.

The hotel was fine except for one...
8 / 10
Jun 2005, Mr A Fearn

The hotel was fine except for one very big problem. Last year we went to Hilton Sharks Bay in Sharm where we could snorkel over the home reef directly from the jetty. We were hoping to do the same here but when they built the beach they destroyed the coral, the bay is dead.
I was told the other hotels in this part of Hurghada are the same. If you want easy snorkelling forget this place. Other than that the staff are very friendly, the hotel is clean and there were no problems with the room.
We went B and B so didn’t use the main restaurant much but lunch at the beach bar was good also the Egyptian and fish restaurants in the evening. The meals aren’t expensive a pizza or salad is about LE25 and the most expensive dish in the fish restaurant about 75.
If you want to go out for a meal you can walk 10 minutes down the road for a choice of restaurants or take a bus supposedly about LE 2or 3 per person or a taxi LE20 per cab and go to Sakkala or Downtown. Don’t have crab I tried it and got 4 small ones, which were more or less empty. We went to Mamiya Island. If you’ve never snorkelled before they’ll give you a quick lesson before you have a go round the coral there but it’s very busy.
You then have a chance to go offshore where the coral and fish are better. We also took a trip with the dive shop where the coral and fish were better, I still preferred Sharm though.
It seems the best place to snorkel is called the aquarium but the way the trips are organised they can never tell you where they’re going until the day as it depends on the weather and the skill of the divers going.
We went to Cairo and Luxor, flying both times which is obviously more expensive. Even so they were exhausting days there’s such a lot to see.
