Carvoeiro Sol Hotel

we had a great holiday last summer (august 2004 empty-nesters late 40s-but not past it). All staff from front desk to chambermaids really friendly and genuinely helpful. This is a small hotel with a really nice atmosphere. Lovely courtyard for breakfast food fine and plentiful. Do not come here expecting lary bustle and is not really the kind of place that will impress the average adolescent (shame!!) Pool small but fine for cooling off and always very clean it was bliss to have the peace to sit and read. There is some entertainment in the lounge a few times a week all quite tasteful.Rooms good sized and air conditioning can be a little too effective - we woke up freezing first night. We were automatically upgraded to a seaview on arrival at no extra cost and it was a real plus being able to watch the world go by at the sea front. can get loudish when the club on the beach empties out circa 6am but did not spoil the holiday. wonderful restaurants in the resort we ate heartily in a different venue each night. We are going for a mini break in may when i suspect the whole resort will be quieter.
