Got back from a week at the Mirachoro recently. I was somewhat disappointed by the hotel and don't think it deserves a 4* rating. The public areas are bright and cheerful but the rooms a little tired. My room was never made up before 4pm which was inconvenient as the weather was not great so I often just wanted to relax on my balcony in the afternoon. Breakfast was no more than adequate. No fresh fruit available. The dining room is on the small side and could get very busy. The pool itself was cleaned every morning but the surrounding area was not always cleaned very thoroughly and used ashtrays etc from the previous day could sometimes be found. There were also weeds growing between the flagstones around the pool. The staff on reception were efficient but not very friendly. Carvoeiro itself is a nice little place and the many and varied restaurants excellent.

The hotel was clean and extremely colourful, especially the reception and bar areas! Lovely pool area. Weather quite windy for beginning of May but still lovely and sunny and hot until after 6 pm. The choice for breakfast was fairly limited - not fresh fruit (tinned peaches, pineapple and pears), different breads, usual egg variations, bacon, hot dog sausages and cold meat and cheese. The hotel was situated up a hill (although nothing strenuous) - a nice walk down towards the beach was had every day and night to find places to eat - lots of restaurants to choose from and bars too with lively music (sometimes live). Overall, enjoyed stay and would recommend if looking for a quite, relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle.

The hotel was good(2nd visit). It was handy for lots, a great place to rest and a few nice wee bars. (don't go to this resort if you want loads of night life) Some of the staff were not so helpful. The hotel did not live up to its 4 * rating. With a little more work it could have been better but all in all good value..
DON'T go H/B the restaurant was not great. You should enjoy the many places in resort.oh.. and decor funky in public areas, i liked it!! The hotel i think could be a true 4 *..but needs a wee gee up and some more staff training.

We have just returned from the Mirachoro and were very dissappointed with our stay. The hotel and rooms were spotless but the beds are like concrete - pillows just flat pads and when we asked at reception for more plump pillows we were told they were all the same but I found one in the wardrobe and asked the bedroom staff for two more - neither of these requests were acted on. Also our room was not serviced till late afternoon which is not very convenient if you want to spend time in your room or on the balcony. The sheets were torn and had a hole in one of them. The towels were thread bare with the majority having gone into holes. They were hard and some stained.
We only went bed and breakfast thank goodness as the food was not good. No nice presentation of bowls of fresh fruit - got the impression that it was all done as cheaply as possible. We can't understand how this can be classed as a 4 star. Compared to other 4 star hotels we have stayed in in Portugal I would class it at the most a 3 star. No Menus to give you the option to have evening dinner - but that didn't really matter as the restaurants nearby were excellent and far more friendly and not overly expensive. This was possibly a very nice Hotel at one stage but is now suffering from a air of neglect and lack of investment. Carvoeiro is a lovely village and we would definately go back but not to that hotel.
