Pestana Levante Hotel

Well my hubby and me have just come back from staying at the "Levante" for a weeks break.(b/b)....our second time to Portugal, but our first stay here...and I’m already wishing for next year to come! Although we had rain almost everyday it didn’t at all dampen our holiday as it was still warm and we could get around on our own using the local buses which were great! There were plenty of tours and things but if you need a quiet hotel and peaceful resort this is it!!!!
The hotel and staff were just fab, I mean that too as they couldn’t do enough for you, anything you needed they would see to it that you got it...I must mention Andrea on reception(speaking most languages!!!)She was absolutely lovely to us. Thank you and the bar staff...especially Riu...who had to stay up all hours listening to us and our friends...filling our glasses...thank you....also all the staff who worked in the breakfast room. providing you with everything you could ask for. it was a fab buffet brekkie...5 courses if you wished and freshly made waffles...yum.yum...thank you.there were also a dinner served to you at night but we like to eat out.
We had a sea view (which we did pay extra for) and it was a delight to wake up too each day! The only drawback it had was a very small balcony with not much room only a table and two chairs able to fit. the patio doors were also fitted with mossy netted doors...brills!!!!(though we didn’t see many of them!!!)The room was ok and very clean, the maids came each day we were there!!!...lovely too!!!...but I’m so glad I took my iron and kettle as it was room only. there is a sauna and fitness room in the hotel, a lovely games room with the air of a library, plenty of comfy chairs to read in and a small shop for little souvenirs and a paper. not food. the swimming pool is fab but too cold for me to go in this time of year.....the nearest supermarket is about 15 mins up hill, but in the little village there is a couple, again bout 15 mins the other way. we did eat out every night, but not many places were open...the restaurants we visited were excellent...porters...clippers...pizzas plaza ...rij (cliff Richards local indian!!!).
We met up with some lovely people who some have been to the hotel 16 times!!! Others 7...9....I could go on...we will be meeting some again next year for our 2nd visit!!! It is actually closing for 3 months at the end of October for a tidy up they said!!!! So I look forward to going back.
