How fantastic! Not a Brat in sight. So peaceful by the pool. Great Reception staff, so very helpful. Rooms cleaned everyday. One problem was with the hair dryer, i have very long hair and it took several attempts to dry my hair as the dryer got very hot and burned my hands!... more

We have just returned from 10 days relaxing stay at the Falesia, We agree with previous comments read that the walk to the beach could be difficult for some, however the bus to the local resorts from the hotel are good value, and easier than the local bus travel. The evening... more

If you are after a quiet holiday then this is the location for you. The Falesia hotel is situated in a quiet location on the Algarve, however on saying that there is a regular bus service to both Albuferia and Villamoura at a reasonable charge. There is also a daily beach... more

Fantastic holiday! Great hotel, lovely surroundings, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful weather, what more could you ask for. Only gripe was airport transfer, used a cab on arrival and was 55 euros, we then found a very nice guy at faroairporttransfers@live.com for the return and was only 25 euro, highly recommended!!

Excellent Hotel & Entertainment let down by Thompson excursion
My wife and I booked a last minute week and thoroughly enjoyed it; all bar the one Thomson organised excursion we booked to a nearby carnival. Fourteen of us were left behind at the hotel with no apology from the rep. at the time. Luckily the carnival was on for 3 days and we rebooked with a local tour operator saving 7 Euros (see the last paragraph). We concur the majority of reviews that the hotel, its staff and the entertainment were all superb. We had a standard room overlooking the gardens to the right of reception (231)... more
Relaxing time at the Falesia
Booked a bargain break through Portland Direct for a week mid November (9th to the16th) Lucky with the weather had 6 sunny days about 70 degrees. Lovely well kept hotel, with beautiful gardens and pool area. Enjoy a nice lunch on the decked area overlooking the pool, a little pricey but good quality food well prepared. the Buffet breakfast and dinner are taken in a beautifull restaurant with colourful block mounted paintings, and polished wood flooring, head up past the buffet for a view of the lovely gardens. At night the concealed lighting... more
Great setting!
We've just arrived back from a week in the Hotel Falecia. First impression was that we were in an ocean liner. The hotel lobby was beautiful bedecked with greenery. We booked a superior room expecting a pool view and were told that none of the superior rooms overlook the pool. Well, room 307 did, as well as the beautiful gardens, as we were on a corner. But if you book a superior room, some may be above the entertainment section with all the associated noise although it does stop at midnight. Agreed with the comment made by... more
Lovely Hotel
Just returned from a short break at the Falesia Hotel. The hotel from May to October is a Gold adult only property. Due to last minute changes I ended up travelling alone. Right from the start checking in the hotel the staff were fantastic. I was on half board and found the food to be very good. Many people found the drinks in the hotel very expensive but there is some very reasonable priced bars near to the hotel. My only critizism is that even though I had a superior room at £13 per person per night the use of the fridge wasnt included.... more
lovely hotel, staff excellent location not quite so good food not as good as El t
Got home today after two weeks in Falesia. Had two weeks in El Tope Tenerife year before last and Cyprus last year, so tend to compare to these. Hotel lovely, clean, staff excellent, so helpful and attentive.Pool area and gardens beautiful.Weather wonderful, 30-40 ! Husband enjoyed golf courses as did his brother and partner(i enjoyed sunbed while they were golfing!) Two beaches we tried, the Sheraton hotel beach was was nice but too far a walk for us in that heat and expensive sunbed hire if you wernt from the Sheraton.... more
Really enjoyable holiday
Our holiday was exactly what we expected, a Thompson Gold Holiday, (we booked via Portland holidays as it was cheaper). No kids, 4 star hotel, first drop off & last pick up, excellent food, room, & entertainment. Yes the hotel is a little way from the beach but they do provide a bus several times a day. We went a couple of times but found it hard to leave the wonderful gardens surrounding the hotel. They were so peaceful & quiet. No matter what time of they we went there four of us always found spare sun beds. Plenty of shade provide by many... more
Great Holiday
Me and my husband stayed at the Falesia recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes the hotel is in a very quiet part of Albuferia, but we prefer that. It's out of the way therefore we kind of have the hotel all to ourselves. There are a couple of places to eat if you need a snack at lunch time, in easy walking distance. And the food we had was very good. The hotel itself is clean and the staff very friendly. The food is good, but we feel there could have been more of a choice. The beach is quite a walk, but the... more
Lovely base to stay
My husband & I have just returned from Portugal, where it was hot and sunny almost everyday. We were checked into the Falesia hotel promptly, we had a superior room, and all in all found the accomodation, food, pool etc to be of above average quality. We would agree with it's 4-star rating, and the ONLY thing that irked us was the charge for the use of the fridge in our room (for which we left padlocked!!). Considering we'd paid for a superior room (all that was left available), it was the first time we've not been able to use a fridge in our... more
one of the best
very nice hotel and staff food exellent also entertanment very good.not much to do outside of hotel, few bars and shops.would recomend this hotel if you like quite restful places.
a review for younger couples
As a hotel we can't fault any of the staff or the Thomsons team. But as a couple in the younger generation we were in the minority, as the daytime activities by the pool and evening entertainment were specifically designed for an older audience. The food was of a good standard and the choice of wines was excellent , the waiters are very helpful and never seem to stop. We would strongly advise anyone who in enjoys busy nights out to maybe plan on going into Albuferia which is very commercial. All in all me and my husband had a wonderful... more
