Marriott Denia La Sella Golf Resort & Spa

We have stayed a few times in this hotel simply because of the absolute lack of other 5 stars hotels in the area. The rooms are nice but stay away from rooms near the pool and the restaurant if you value your rest. Cleaning is o.k. but often done as early as 2 or 3 p.m.. The staff is typically spanish : now they see you and now they don't. Not very friendly and usually busy with each other. A real pity. Check your bill frequently on the t.v., mistakes happen. Roomservice is slow and often not complete.

Stayed here with my husband and 6yr old son and had a good time. Be aware though, the Kids Club staff spoke mostly in Spanish (Spanish children were in the majority) which put my son off. The in room TV has no children's channels and limited to news unless you paid for a film. Having watched this hotel being built over the past years, we vowed to stay there, which we did for a long weekend in March 2006. Certainly the building and upkeep are worthy of 5 star status. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped; the beds comfortable and the housekeeping first class. Nice balcony overlooking the La Sella Golf Course. We booked a last minute fare via mariott in a junior suite with breakfast included for our two kids (6/9). Considering the very low price of this mariott it is one of the best bargains I have found so far in Spain. The experience with the staff and hotel infrastructure was exceptional, in contrast to some other reviews we prefered the hotel dinner to any place in Javea or Denia. It is a great place to chill out and relax, no package tourist experiences, very child friendly.

Excellent hotel: we stayed in Denia for 4 days last month. While the hotel is a few miles outside of the main town there is a new (public bus) service which runs by the hotel to Denia and Javea. The buffet breakfast has excellent variety. The staff are very polite. Unfortunately one of my tops was taken to the laundry by mistake. We thought this was lost forever but a few days after returning home a package arrived with the freshly laundered top! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Marriott hotel last week. We have previously stayed at a sister hotel in Majorca which was much better. We arrived on Sunday night, tired and ready for dinner to be told the main restaurant was closed but we could eat in the second restaurant. When we went in we were told the only option was a American buffet - which I didn't want. Hotel is a few miles out of Denia, so car advisable. Buffet beakfast, which is served until midday, is excellent. Pool is excellent for youngsters.

They don't have a system of checking that you are who you say you are in the bar. When I checked out I went through the slips and found a great deal of them were posted to my account and had nothing to do with me! Another in our party had items posted to his room from the week before we arrived. Advice is to put a mark or number on everything you sign as they'll argue about this at check out and claim they can't tell the difference between signatures. Stayed here with husband and 3 kids aged 6, 4 and 1 year for 7 nights. It is perfect for small kids, my older 2 went to the kids club - which is only 5 euros per day or 10 euros if they stay for lunch. Excellent value as the kids loved playing with other children, making bracelets, playing in the pool, games, soft play, art and watching movies. We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of July. The hotel is beautiful in all respects. The location is remote however the beach is 10min drive, there are some local restuarants within 5 mins drive all of which were excellent. A taxy back from Denia if you want a night out is 12-13euros. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to take you in to town and the beach and runs throughout the day till 9pm at night.
