ROOMS - Twin, although will accommodate extra single bed up to balcony window. Bathroom en suite, with over bath hand held/wall mounted shower. Heating on through most of night, upon waking up and during most of day. Daily cleaning and towel change, rooms spotless.
Restaurant (non smoking) - Stairs down to restaurant. However, ground floor access can be made through the patio doors directly into the restaurant. Lifts are not suitable for mobility scooters. Folk left them parked outside entrance.
Good choice of hot and cold buffet for breakfast (8.30am - 10am)
Lunch (12.30pm - 2pm) and Dinner (7.30pm - 9.30pm)
can become a bit repetitive, so this hotel may best be served to go half board or B&B.
Lunchtime is not much of a crowd. However, evening meal folk start to queue at 7.20pm By 7.45pm the restaurant can be crowded, so we found there was a lull and could get to a table for our party at 8.30pm. The restaurant manager likes to allocate the appropriate number of people to the right table settings. There are a small number of round tables that seat 5 to 6 people. The others are a maximum of four. Many are set for 2 people, but extra settings will be placed if required.
There is a bar area, overlooking the outdoor pool. This has a television, and I believe permits smoking.
There is a seperate(non smoking) lounge area with many large comfy sofas and chairs, and a pool table. Here people can sit and relax and talk. Next door is another similar room, with chairs and tables, and here is where occasional live music is held.
The hotel offers a laundry service. There are hairdryers in the bathroom. No kettles. The cleaning staff, and some restaurant staff are friendly and speak very little english. But communication can be somehow made. Reception is a little hit and miss, but whoever gets into a chit chat with them anyway.
The bar closes between 11.30pm and midnight. You can take a nightcap up to your room from the bar. There are two lifts to 7 floors.
This hotel serves many nationalities. While I was there with my large party, English, Spanish, German, Dutch people were staying.
Location, it is half way up 'Cardiac Hill', although as a sufferer of arthritis I found it not a problem, you get use to it. Closeby there are the usual fast food chains (Burger King / McD /Subway) but their prices are slightly higher than here in the UK. Closeby is a Chinese restaurant open 12 noon to midnight, overlooking the beach. It offered a great buffet deal of 8.75 adult or half price for kids.
This is a good hotel if looking for a clean comfortable budget base to stay, and I would recommend it for this purpose.
However, as it was the festive season we was just looking for a little bit more of an atmosphere, which we always found at our regular hotel elsewhere in the area.
Sadly, my disappointment did not reflect in anyway towards the hotel, it was to the british idiots staying somewhere nearby, as usual shouting and swearing on their way home from the clubs in the early hours. I just wish these numpties would have a bit more decorum, and good manners when abroad, rather than reflecting the brits in a bad light.
Advice: Clean sandy beach. Rowdy drunks late at night. Smokey pubs.
Activities: Chinese restaurant nearby to hotel on beach front / Amstrelli Bar (beach front).
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Mrs J A DoddsI have travelled abroad for 30 years and the mont park is the worst hotel by far that i have ever stayed in. I had read the reviews on different sites and therefore went with an open mind but every bad review written was true of this hotel.
Unpleasent and rude reception staff. Very smokey bar/lounge area with closed doors and windows. 2 small lifts which are always full. Air conditioning thats never on. Old and dated rooms. Pool very grubby and old looking. Restaurant what can i say in the basement no air con switched on and doors and windows closed. After queing for a table and then whatever you want to eat you are to hot and stressed out to eat it. After 3 visits to the (dungeon) restaurant we ate out for the rest of the holiday. We expected lots of spanish guests as it seemed to be a hotel mainly for the spanish what we didnt expect was the rudeness and unfriendliness of these people. They were not even polite enough to return a smile. I have never been so glad to pack my case and return home.
If you are taking a baby DONT GO and if you do go dont expect a cot or a high chair or air conditioning as this hotel is totally child unfriendly.

Submitted By: mountainspringThe night time reception staff was not very helpful or happy, he did not make me feel very welcome.
The bar area was very very smokey, you could hardly see from one end to the other.
The restaurant was a bit on the small side and i found my self being pushed out the way so people could get tables - soo rude, but the staff would always find you somewhere to sit and would, if possible, sit english people with other english people - they must if found this hard as there were hardly any english people here, i was the only one for the first two days of my holiday. Onto the food.
It was excellent, i am the worlds fussiest eater and i found i had plenty of choice evey night. the variety at breakfast was also really good. The only complaint i have about the resaurant is that for the last three nights the waitress decided to keep my change.?? but it was only 50cents at a time so its not like she was taking all my money!
The head waiter is a lovely man and always smiling.
The room was a good size, but, like the reception area, it was very dated, it looked as though it had not been decorated for a good 20 years and the furniture seemed very flimsey. The only heating in the room was in the bathroom, so at night the room ended up being very cold and the bathroom was like a sauna. The balcony was nice and sunny though which was a added bonus.
The maids were lovely and did an excellent job.
Beware the hill!!!!
it isnt nicknamed cardiac hill for a laugh, i was glad the hotel was only halfway up! i have to say though i found it very amusing watching people stuggling to the hotel right at the top, they all looked so knackered at the end.
All in all this was good value accommodation and for the price i paid i wasnt exactly expecting a palace. With a little updating and a bit of staff training this hotel would be fab!!!

Submitted By: Mrs S TimmsThe lounge next to the reception desk and at certain times, the lobby of the hotel, was extremely smoky.
However, the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent - both the quality and the variety and the staff were very helpful and polite, but the dining room was way too small for the amount of guests staying there and people were consistently waiting for vacant tables.
The beds were incredibly hard and the pillows lumpy.

Submitted By: Miss N ChambersThe lunchtime menu was very similar to night time. I also found there wasn’t a lot of English people staying there.
I weren’t sure of their nationality but staying there on my own I just nodded to most of them and smiled.
It was clean though, and I probably would stay there again at a last resort. But beware of the hill.

No high chairs provided for younger guests which meant push chairs were brought in, even less room. Drinks were not provided at dinner and payment of bottled water was required, bread was mouldy at breakfast and stale baguettes from breakfast were kept for dinner. The staff did not speak much English and it was very hard to converse. The pool was too cold to swim in and most guests avoided it, there was no entertainment at night for families, I once saw the lounge area with elderly people ballroom dancing.

After returning to the hotel of an evening we found ourselves sitting on the veranda playing cards, but that did not last long as lights went out just after 12?? Hotel is kept very clean by chambermaids who did a great job. <br>
