Great Hotel
from Rangers9
We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Benilux Park, from 19th to 26th Feb. We booked this as a cheap deal through Portland Direct, so wasn't entirely sure what to expect This is a great hotel to stay at. The staff are all very nice, the hotel is very clean and the food is fantastic. Your room is cleaned and towels changed daily. Dont expect too much, the fixtures and fittings in the rooms are typical for this age of Spanish hotel, but I have stayed in much worse 4 star hotels. The rooms are secure and have a safe you can hire. I would say that 95% of the other guests were Spanish pensioners, which didnt bother us at all, but as a couple in our mid 40's I wondered if we might get asked for ID at the bar as we looked so young. We were booked half board and the restaurant opened from 7 till 9 for evening meals. All the Spanish pensioners would start to gather outside the door from about 6:30, jostling for pole position. When the doors opened it was like greyhounds out of the trap, only much slower, to get to their favourite seats. We found if you ate around 8:15, you could get seated no problem and there was always plenty of hot food left and a good choice of salad. The evening entertainment was all geared toward the Spanish, but after all the hotel is in Spain. And I can tell you this, these old Spaniards can line dance to any music thrown at them. The bar staff were 'great crack' and always full of banter. The only criticism I have of the hotel is the fact that the walls between the rooms must actually be made of cardboard, as you can hear every word from the joining rooms. The hotel is located in the old town, not far from the beach and its about a 15 to 20 min walk to the new town. On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again
Great time was had by all

Stayed for 7 days Jan 2008 and enjoyed every part of the hotel and holiday. all staff in all areas were great so was the food. rooms were kept very clean towel change daily. reception staff very helpful as we missed the coach for return journey to the airport through no fault of our own as there was noe one to tell us which coach were had to get on and had to pay 60 euros to gat us to the airport by Taxi.later told it was the fault of the driver for not informing us. I say again this hotel is the best we have stayed in for a long time and will be going again in the near future the entertainment was fine and drinks at the bar quite cheap. a great holiday thanks to all the staff at the Benilux GO AND ENJOY

Stayed for 5 days 27thdec-1st jan. Arrived at 1.30am and ws booked in quickly without problem, We were then shown into the restaurant were a meal and drink was waiting for us this we thought was very very good. Our room was nice and overlooked the pool it was clean and comfortable. The food was good for a spanish hotel of this size and found the choices to be adequate. We only ate breakfast and lunch though as we prefer to eat our evening meal out. The hotel is very popular with the older spanish and we found them to be a little bolshy and loud especcially at meal times also the staff did give them priority service. The tables in the restaurant were not reset quickly but we didnt find it a massive problem to lay our own. The new years eve gala meal was lovely, But the table that we were allocated was full when we got too it and the spanish that were on it refused to budge so four of us were left without a table till we got the head waiter to get us another which turned out to be better than the one we should have had. We like this hotel but found it too far from the nightlife so when we do return we will get a hotel in the new town. i would recommend to those of you who like a nice hotel but away from the hustle and bustle.

Good Hotel
from sooby50
We stopped at the Benilux Park and even though I have rated it Average it was a very pleasant hotel to stay in.On the minus side the beds were very hard, but clean. The service at the hotel was good, the staff very helpful, basic but clean rooms, Lovely food there was a choice for everyone well presented and plenty of choice. The bus stop no 12 was outside the hotel so you could go to the new town easily, or anywhere for that matter for only a Euro, great value for money. Very Spanish but we didn't mind that but again the entertainment was very watchable although latish. All in all a good place to be based to see Benidorm. Try the downhill Bikeglide with Neil & Vanessa not for the faint hearted but a very enjoyable day out.

we booked this hol with portland and its wasnt a cheapie we arrived late at night recepition ect looked nice got to our room it was so small you couldnt open the wardrobe door without movin bed no prob tho ..the bathroom was so small you had to sit on the loo sideways unless you are a very small and short person then you can get uor legs under the marble slab around the sink... the food was the terrible runny mash meat you could not cut so tough wouldnt feed it to our dogs this food was like going back to spanish hotel food in the 70s.....most of the guests were spanish pensioners and semed to like what was on offer they pushed and shuved and demanded their table to be cleared we layed our table many a night as the restuarant staff looked after them first...no prb a bit of salad and we were gone...we didnt stay around hotel very much the first week as it tlike a reteriment home but with ballroom eve dancing ...the good bits about this hotel its a good location off the main shopping road short walk to a good beach where its shallow and sandy into sea plenty of cheap bars nice walk along the prom to the old town....we would stay in this area again very spanish and freindly but not in the benilux maybe the corona del mar right on the front would like to say that we are in our 50s not ready for a morbid hol yet.
Returned after great holiday last sept

Stayed again at the Benilux Park hotel. Great location. However the food was not as good as last year, having said that, it was still a great place to stay. There could have been more choices with the food, most nights it was pork and beef dishes as the main dishes. Great location, just round from the old town and you could get a good nights sleep, a lot better than being in the "new town" would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Short break

While it is true that this Hotel is very Spanish, why would you want it to be British?? - Go to Blackpool for that. The hotel is quiet, clean, with good food and pleasant staff. The entertainment is adequate, but you're only a short walk from the bars and clubs, if that's your thing. Down the hill, right, first left, and first left again takes you to a delightful little tapas bar on the right run by a married couple - and the prices are very reasonable (Cafe Mirabelle?). The bus for Terra Mitica leaves from the bottom of the road, and is only 1 Euro, and the hotel can usually sell you discount tickets (about a third off). The grounds of the hotel are very green and there seemed plenty of sun-loungers available when we went. Would certainly go back as this represents probably the best that Spainish Benidorm has to offer.
Benilux park hotel

I stayed at the Benilux Park Hotel from 14th March to 21 March 2007. This hotel surpasses all others I have stayed at in Benidorm, very clean and bright, staff very friendly, food excellent, it would be impossible for anyone to complain about the food here, there is so much choice and caters for everyone's taste. All the rooms have balconies, I would recommend a room that gets the sun on a morning as it can get a bit hot in the afternoon in the ones with afternoon sun, (this is of course a matter of choice) It is on the edge of the new town, so only takes about 15 to 20 mins. to get to the old town, very pleasant walk to the bottom of the street, then either along the waters edge or along the walkway, plenty of shops, cafes and bars nearby. I went on my own (I am 61 and female) everone was very friendly even the young ones, there is entertainment every night except Sunday, line dancing classes every day at 5.00pm for an hour. A very enjoyable week, and the weather was good 23deg. every day, just what you need after winter in UK. Mystic Mo
excellent hotel

we have just returned from a weeks stay at the benilux park, the hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The food was also very good the entertainment in the hotel was for the spanish but as the amount of entertainment outside is vast this is not a problem. The only slight problem was that we were in room 226 and as there was an overgrown tree outside the balcony you had no view as we did not sit out on the balcony this was no problem to us. We would not hesitate to stay there again it was excellent value for money.
