Lovely hotel, polite staff, clean rooms and decent food. The pool is great fun too. For those on a budget and tired of parks so not fancying going back out for evening meal the pizza is lovely and about 10e each. Easily earns its 3 stars. Booked with hotels4u and a real bargain at around £300 for 4 nts three people b&b.

Great hotel, busy shuttles...
I read reviews from here before i went so thought i'd add my own. We flew from bournemouth and then were picked up by airport connection, they were on time and although the service is expensive (75 euros each way for family of 4) we did have the taxi to ourselves. The hotel was just what we hoped, the children loved the adjoining room with bunk beds and their own tv, this was the deciding factor in choosing our hotel, having more space. there were fresh towels and beds made daily. I would advise taking own tea and coffee/coffeemate as the sachets were horrible and you only get enough for one night (pay for more). Didn't think the dinner was great but it did the job just for the first night, after which we ate in disney village. Breakfast is ok, has everything a child may need and apart from it being busy we were quite happy. The shuttle was packed before 9.00am but wasn't so busy an hour later. As explorers is the first pick up we got a seat most of the time. In the evening the children enjoyed the play area while we relaxed, nice pool although we didnt use it, it seemed popular. I would recommend booking a breakfast or dinner at cafe mickey in disney village (must book when you get there) all the characters come to your table and it was a real highlight of our last day, something we didn't know was its free to get into the village so you can go back on a day your disney tickets run out.
Could do better
The brilliant customer service of Disneyland Paris seemed to stop when you left the site. On arrival at Explorers Hotel, we couldn't find our room - nor could some of the staff! The hotel has various wings and extensions and we were at the far end. The pool was great, but the changing area was shabby and could be cleaner. When the restaurant was busy at breakfast on Sunday they ran out of crockery and cutlery and there just weren't enough staff to respond to the problem. OK it was winter, but there should be more frequent shuttle buses to avoid pushing, shoving and overcrowding ... but if you didn't push a bit you didn't get on. The hotel wasn't bad, but they could learn a lot about customer service from the Disney organisation.
Adequate but expensive food and drink
5 of us stayed in The Explorers on the first week of August 2005. The rooms were adequate to be used as a base but not much else. The pool and kids facilities were good. The continental breakfast was fine and you could stock up with rolls for later in the day. Although the kids complained it was always the same and were bored of it after a few days The worst part was the prices. I paid 6€ for a pint of lager. We did not even try the restaurant as the prices were exorbitant. We found ourselves going back to Disneyland for our evening meals. Note that in Disneyland ALL food is expensive. A typical price for a family of 5 having a burger, chips and a drink was 55€. The coaches to Disney came often. They were crowded if you left at certain times of the day but if you timed it right there were plenty of seats. All in all it was what we expected. Ideal for the kids and handy for Disneyland.
Ver Poor
I thought that this hotel was poor. It was quite expensive and offered poor value for money The room was new and relatively comfortable but even here the bathrooms were not entirely clean... The facilities for children were reasonably good with a pool with a slide, etc. The food in the hotel was awful. The main restaurant was a buffet style restaurant. The food was bland, unpalletable and usually cold from the delay in queuing to pay. It was also extremely expensive given the quality served up. The staff were also unhelpful, overworked etc.
Excellent hotel
Could not fault a single thing ablout this hotel.Bedroom: cool, ample air conditioning. Staff: friendly & helpful at every cost. Rooms and bathrooms spotlessly cleaned. Great atmosphere - very child-friendly. Breakfast lovely. Shuttle bus always regular. would recommend to anyone-will certainly be going back!!
Not convenient for adults
We picked this hotel because it accomodated my family of 5 people (2 adults and 3 small children). The hotel was accomodating to children, but definitely not for adults. We had one room with an adjoining small room with bunk beds. In one room, we had 4 single beds. The beds were extremely uncomfortable; it felt like we were sleeping on army beds. The bathroom is small and can only fit one person at a time. There were no closet or drawer space to unpack so we lived out of our luggage for 5 days. Things that were missing from the hotel room are kleenex boxes and coffee maker! Like I said, this hotel was great for the kids. They do have an indoor pool with a slide which our kids loved. They also have a kids gym area where they can go in and play as much as they want. The have an arcade room too. The food at the hotel was TERRIBLE!! We tried the buffet restaurant the first night (very expensive) and it tasted horrible. We tried the pizza parlor the next night, it was just okay. If you can avoid eating at the hotel - I would recommend to eat somewhere else. I would not stay at this hotel again!
Terrific hotel!
I stayed here from 20-23 April 2005 with my wife and five-year-old son. We had looked at booking one of the higher star hotels within the resort but to be honest, they were between 40-70% more expensive. We chose the Explorers because we thought that it was within easy reach of the park and knew about the shuttle service that existed from the train station. In view of the fact that we weren't intending to spend much time in the room, there seemed little point to pay more than we needed to. The bus stop is a 30-second walk from the station (catch a number 54 shuttle - pink bus - they are clearly marked with the number 54 and the names of the hotels they stop at). We waited no more than 7 or 8 minutes for a bus on any journey to or from the park - in some cases the bus was already there. The bus journey itself takes about 7 minutes and is very straightforward. The check in process is easy and the staff speak excellent English. Our room was on the first floor and a bit on the small size but had everything we needed (apart from good lighting in the main room - the bulbs were very low voltage so it made it a little dark on return from the day out). We had one double and two single beds in the room and the linen was clean. The bathroom was a good size and spotless and we had a separate WC. As a previous author has mentioned, the breakfast was absolutely fine, with cereal, croissants (which were delicious), rolls, fruit juices and yoghurts. A cooked breakfast was an optional extra at 5 Euros. The staff were very helpful and assisted us with booking a "character breakfast" at the park for our last morning at Walt's restaurant in the main park. All in all a very pleasurable experience and would stay there again.
EXPLORERS, PARIS IS EXCELLENT
We stayed from 19th April to 22nd April and was thoroughly pleased with everything the hotel offered. The bus service was excellent, the breakfast had a nice choice and the rolls were so delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hotel had 3 very good restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Although we had no children with us, my sister and I agreed that this was the ideal hotel for children. It had a lovely swimming pool and play area for children and even though there were plenty of children in the hotel, their was never any noise when going to sleep at night. The left luggage room was very good too with someone watching it at all times.
The way to go with KIDS!
The Explorer's hotel is great stay for kids and parents alike. The hotel's indoor pool is enclosed in glass, which allowed me and my wife to relax, while watching the kids in the pool. Car is not needed unless you will like to venture off and take a trip to Normandy (highly recommended) 3hrs away leave early, they are lots of small towns in route to marvel at. Shopping is great even on the week dollar the Val' Europe shopping center has it all even factory outlets from favorites like Reebok, Puma and Timberland. For your trip to the city of Paris I recommend the RER (metro) 48euros for a family of 4. On and off the metro all day makes it easy to the city. Have a list of things to see, kids are free in the museums.
This ones worth it.
Upon arrival the girl at reception was extremely helpful, we stored our bags in left luggage and hit the parks straight away(arrived at 13.00 hrs, check in is 15.00 hrs). Came back to hotel and checked in at 21.00, bags delivered to the room straight away. Myself and my family went to Explorers hotel 31st March to 4th April 2005, We were an awkward number(5) so went for a 6 person room. Excellent rooms enough space for our needs. Proper power shower, good beds, cleaning service to a high standard every day.TV for early morning cartoons Breakfast is good, coninental style, choc au pain, croissants, rolls, yoghurt, cheese, ham, fruit salad. Brit breakfast is yours for an extra 6 euros. To be honest unless ur a lard junkie the continental is great. Swimming pool is a good size, maybe 30 people in before it starts feeling tight. Never did much Hotel evening entertainment(surprising being where we were) but it seems to be pool, parks or --- at the hotel bar. Options 1 & 2 best but of course some people can't resist option 3! Buses to and from the parks every 20 minutes, Buses back to airport every 4 hours(approx). Timetable for your return at reception. Be aware bus is not just a couple of Euros. I was 65 each way for a family of five. All in all i would rate this hotel at 3 1/2 stars pushing 4 in some areas and i've stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world. I would use it again if i went back.
