Lovely hotel, polite staff, clean rooms and decent food. The pool is great fun too. For those on a budget and tired of parks so not fancying going back out for evening meal the pizza is lovely and about 10e each. Easily earns its 3 stars. Booked with hotels4u and a real bargain at around £300 for 4 nts three people b&b.

i recently stayed in the explorers. my sons red ninentdo dsi was left on the bed in a clear sandwich bag by accident but after phoning reception on 3 occasions and emailing on 3 occasions i got a reply 1 wk later saying no dsi found! and that was it. appalling customer service and lack of concern i will never stay at that hotel again. A hotel were hundreds of children stay every wk and things left behind will never be returned. A brand new Dsi and it just dissappeared!!

We found the hotel lovely. The staff were friendly, it had a lovely gift shop and my husband bought me a lovely bag there which I will treasure for ever. I knew before hand there wasnt a lifeguard at the pool, so we pre-warned the children about how they should behave and stay safe. Luckily we have children who understand and stick to the rules regarding safety. When we had breakfast their last Thursday, one of the staff fell and cracked her dead so loud, i jumped out my skin. We felt for her and I think it is terrible they women have to were them long skirts while serving, they are too long easy to trip over and a complete health hazard. That poor girl. The rooms are clean and the children loved having their own parted room. Breakfast was basic, but the kids were happy with it so we didnt mind. The pool was open 8-1pm, a blessing and a curse! Yes there are children running up and down at 11.15pm because the pool is open till 11pm! I read many angry reviews about that, but its a childrens holiday and we didnt think it disturbed our sleep. The ball pool and activity section is for rough and tumble kids only! It smells of kids feet in there! The maids shouted at us in french because they wanted to change the bedding, but our son was poorly and decided not to leave for the park. She was very rude and i speak a little french, asked her if she would like to scream at me infront of the manager!!! She huffed and sauntered off. I think she thought i was an inconvenience in her world, but I made it clear i would not be shouted at! For that reason I would not give it 10/10!!!!

We have just come back from 3 nights in the Explorer Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Hotel room basic but nice and clean.
Hotel also very clean and nice to stay there.
Pool great and really good that it's open so late 11pm.
Breakfast was continental, fresh fruit, bread, cheese, ham and lots of cereal we choose a slot of 8am as this was a quiet time, any later and it would get busy.
The Hotel was rather quiet so there was a lack of food on the evening, only a pizza palour open and a buffet resturant which cost 22 euro per person, we choose to have pizza 10 euro and chips 4 euro which to be fair was nice. On busier times there is another 2 or 3 places in the Hotel that would be open to eat at so you would have much more choice.
There is a nice little shop in the Hotel with lots of Disney stocked items.
The Explorer Hotel has a free shuttle bus every 20 mins which takes you right outside the Disney park/ studios.
We will for sure be going back to this Hotel like I said clean with friendly staff.
If people want a 5* start Hotel with Disney characters walking around the Hotel then pay for it!
This Hotel was very reasonable compared to the Disney Hotels.

We have 4 children aged 5 , 3 and twins who turned 2 whilst there. We have just returned from a stay 4-7 Novemeber. Staff not very friendly, it was as if you should no where things were and if you dont find out. We moved the 2 small tables in our room to accomodate more room during our stay, stains were down the back of where the tables had been. Holes in the sheets, corner of the duvet cover was yellow..... The Bathroom had not been through a thorough clean for some time, tiles had long standing slime on them and in the grout obviously because it was only ever having a quick rinse. The coffee and tea FREE was only there on our arrival day and not replenished during our stay. Breakfast buffet very average....the cooked breakfast was available at additional charge of 4 Euros and wasnt worth it. To top it all on our last night at 11.15pm the Fire alarm went off the staff were running around like headless chickens no one directing the Guests , people were evacuating and some not ....after 10mins it went off many many guests were just standing in the hallways waiting to see what had happened. I went to Reception to enquire and was told the disco were using a smoke machine which triggered the alarm and she laughed and said sorry.... Good and regular bus shuttle, Dinsy Express is worth doing....beds were comfy but there is issues that need addressing for a family hotel....the swimming pool seemingly was not heated and was freezing altho the kids dont tend to notice.....

We just returned from staying at the hotel as we went for my 40th birthday and wanted a nice hotel as a base without spending too much.We previously stayed at the santa fe (very basic), hotel new york(very overpriced) and the hotel new york (great but not wotrth it if you dont spent much time there. We booked the holiday ourselves-we booked the hotel seperately, bought the park passes seperately and booked our own transport it was easy and saved us a fortune as opposed to if we had gone through a travel agent.
The explorers hotel was welcoming, the staff were very friendly and the hotel and rooms were great, only gripe is they only supply one pillow per bed. We had adjoining rooms but only had one bathroom, however the toilet is seperate which is great when the little ones need to go and someones in the shower. The breakfast was superb with plenty of selection including cereals, fresh fruits -melon,oranges and pineapple, yogurts, bread rolls, croissants, pain au chocolate, toast, ham, cheese, preserves, pancakes which the kids loved), fresh fruit juice and hot drinks. You were able to help yourself to as much as you wanted and no-one questioned you. You can have a cooked breakfast and pay a supplement but because of the choice already available we didnt bother. One thing we did do was take a rucksack to breakfast with us and we made up some ham and cheese rolls wrapped them in serviettes and took them into the park with us and did the same with some pastries also if I had known about the fresh fruit before I went I would also have taken a plastic lidded container to take some fresh fruit with us. The benefit of taking some food into the park is that not only do you save money but you can eat it while queuing so you save time as the queues can be quite long.
As we went by car we also took some crates of small bottles of drinks with us and took them into the park as they charge you 3euro50 for a small bottle of coke and as it was warm when we went we were all drinking loads. This meant we had more money left to spend on souvenirs.
In the evening we ate in the Disney village and tried to eat between 6.30 and 8.30 as its quieter then. We were 4 adults and 1 child and it cost us between 85 and 110 euros a night for a main course and a drink each (yes its expensive to eat in the disney village). The kids and husband had a great time in the pool and on the waterslides but there is no lifeguard on duty and they charge you if u dont take your own towels. Overall we all had a fab time and I couldnt have had a better 40th birthday.. We would definately stay here again.

I was a little apprehensive prior to arriving for 5 nights first week in August as I had read a few negative comments but we (4 adults 2 kids) were really pleased with the accomodation and facilities. In fact my grandson was keen to leave Disney in order to get back to the pool which was exceptional, loads of slides and a fun area with the buckets and water jets etc.
The bunkroom was adequate and clean and we managed to obtain a fridge on request through Thomas Cook prior to leaving UK.
Plenty of choice for breakfast fruit, cereals, ham cheese & rolls or 4 euros extra for a full cooked breakfast. We ate outside most days and this saved us Qing for a table allocation.
Lots of people made up sandwiches for lunch as well.
Evening meals and snacks are pricey but there was happy hour from 7 till 9 (2for1) which made drinks same as UK.
We had a hire car and hotel pass saves you the 15 euros on the parking at Disney. If we had been there just for the weekend I would not have bothered with the car, the shuttle was regular both to Disney and the airport.
My only negative comment is that there is nothing around the hotel and there are no outside areas with tables or benches (other than the dining area which is closed off later)this would have been nice when the sun came out.
In conclusion, it was a good choice of hotel and an excellent compromise based on price when compared with Disney hotels.
Some people seem to enjoy moaning but perhaps we were too busy enjoying ourselves to pick up on all the faults! One thing that did really help our stay was a book called 'Brits guide to Disneyland Paris' by Sue & Simon Venness discounted through Amazon, loads of useful tips and it was more than paid for when we got a 20% saving on our bill at Planet Hollywood restaurant which we would also highly recommend.

Minimal hotel

Been there spring 2008.
Room next to very noisy eartquaking elevator.
Rooms are primitive (construction yard container style)
You can adress the room as clean
Take away pizza en french fries downstairs. (Pizza is OK)
Swimming pool could do.
Breakfast ok.
This Thomas Cook affair is pointing at british customers.
If you are a brit then it is OK. If not find something better. Mind very much the parking lot stair, you can easily break your leg or something else.
You are near Eurodisney entrance if you are a bit fit to walk. They have some kind of bus also.
Minimal shops in hotel.
I would never go there again. Some might like it.
Some comments filed to management (like breaking the leg nearly) Their response was not interested coming to the point.

Great base for Disney break

Booked this as a cheaper alternative to one of the Disney Hotels and pleased with the outcome. Was worried about the negative comments before we went but the hotel is clean, good facilities, great pool for kids (but cold water), rooms are basic but adequate - after all, they are only for putting your head down at the end of a long trudge round the Park - we had a Crew 6 for 5 or us, had double bed and 2 singles in the main room and a bunk in an adjoining room, all clean and made up daily. Yes there are paper cups for tea making but who cares about that! The trouble with Eurodisney is being in France - found the service everywhere to be excessively slow, we were an inconvience to the French (both workers and toursits), and everything is OVER-PRICED - cost of a beer is about £6 and a meal for 5 (2 adults and 3 children) is £100 plus. The pricing is everywhere in Eurodisney so not just in the hotel but I guess that the low Euro exchange rate does not help. We think that we might investigate going to USA Disney as the service is far better and food quality too. But Explorers Hotel is fine and would use again if returning to Paris Disney
