just back from the Explorers hotel...

just back from the Explorers hotel and loved it !, our party consisted of 3 adults ansd 1 child of 7years.I had read mixed reviews about the hotel proir to departure and was dreading it a bit but i honestly couldnt fault it. The rooms were basic but clean and really just used to sleep in ( after a full day in the park none of us could even read a magazine !!and were all asleep prety soon after returning. The breakfasts were of the continental variety and always had plenty of cut up fruit (great for kids to lazy to peel fruit !!) and as there was a distinct lack of food of the healthy variety in the parks it was a must !!) l. Some people were quite greedy and took rolls , ham and even filled bottles with the orange juice to take to the park!!.I would definetly go back to the explorers hotel as i thought they coped marvelously with the vast amount of children in the hotel , all the kids seemed happy with the play areas , pool and amusement arcade ( take plenty euros for the latter !!)Ther is no life guard at the pool so be extra vigilant as some of the older children can be wild !. I enjoyed my experiance in disney but it was spoiled by some some sad people who felt the need to que jump !! i let it go the first few times but after waiting in ques for an hour in the sun it is hard to control the rising rage!! and i allways chalenged them after that !

We have just come back from a 3 night...
9 / 10
Jun 2008, Mrs S Rippon

We have just come back from a 3 night 4 day break at eurodisney and we were so sad to leave! the accommadation and parks were fantastic excellently clean, staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms wer spacious and there are free films(you have to activate them at reception so do this when you book in) , films like meet the robinsons and ratatouille for free! also play stations available again free.
I was a bit nervous beforehand as I had read some terrible reviews on our hotel but none of these could have been further from our experience. Myself my husband and two boys aged 4 and 16 months travelled and the break was ideal for all our ages (however our 4 year old is resonably tall and so was allowed 2 ride nearly everything)
I have a few things to share with you that I would have found helpful if I had known before;
It is well worth catching the 9o'clock shuttle bus from the hotel rather than any later ones as they were less full and we could get a seat although if you don't then the parks are less than a 5 minute ride away, the hotel was so much closer than we thought it would be.
It is definitely worth getting to the parks before they open, even though you have to queue outside for a whil,e as some of the attractions should be done 1st to avoid long queues, I would advise getting into walt disney studios for half past 9 which is when the gates open and getting straight to the nemo rollercoaster, you will have to wait in line for half hour as all the rides only open at 10 o'clock but it is worth it as there is no fast pass and you'll be waiting over an hour if not another tip for this ride is that if like us you are taking young children with one that can ride and the other can't then ask for a baby switch card once you have been on the ride with your little one you can swap with your partner and they can then go on with them again without queuing! so you can both experience the ride.
When getting into the Disneyland Park early if you are not staying in the disney hotels then you will not be allowed into any of the lands before 10(different to the studios which allow you to queue up for the rides at half 9) we went 2 wait outside frontierland as the thunder mountain ride is most popular so again even though we waited ouside frontierland for half an hour we were able to shoot stright to thunder m oiuntain when the gates opened and got straight on, I would also say do the same for peter pan as this is also a really popular ride and you fast pass it but we found that the fast pass queue was just as long!
Another thing we found was that the little one could go on almost everything which was great as I was expecting to be stuck outside trying to entertain our toddler whilst my other half had all the fun- not the case he loved all the shows so we did them all
get there at least 20 mins before the show starts as the seats will dissapear that quickly!
This is not a cheap holiday so take drinks and snacks with you, the rainforest cafe in the disney village was our big splurge which cost £100 for our meal but worth every penny for the kids faces-fantastic!
The hotel pool is open till 11pm so you can still enjoy a swim after a day in the parks.
best rides, nemo, stitch live, animagique(show) tarzan(show) small world, pirates of the carribean(can be a little scary for little ones) flying carpets, stunt show in the studios is long -great for the adults but the kids got really fidgety after 20 mins(50 mins long) remember to do the dragons lair under the castle our kids loved it but some of the kids were petrified!
Plan your days the night before if you want to get the most out of your day what rides you want to go on when working these around the shows it definitely pays to prepare here we did and we had the most amazing holiday.

Just got back from DP Paris after...

Just got back from DP Paris after staying in Explorers. Room basic but kept clean, although tea/coffee not refilled. Staff were friendly and check in very easy and efficient. Breakfast a bit manic but what do you expect with nearly the whole hotel trying to make the most of thier day!
Our three boys loved the play zone and especially the pool area with the slides etc.
Travel to and from the resort was fantastic with free buses running nearly every five minutes.
Only down side to the stay was the cost of drinks in the hotel bar, nearly 8 euros for a pint of lager, with the happy hour of BOGOF extremely popular. I'd heard that France was expensive but this was still a shock.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This is an EXCELLENT hotel, I would recommend it to anybody, if fact we have stayed there for the last two years, and guess what??? we are going back there in October. I really recomend it. The staff are always very helpful, the bedrooms are always exceptionally clean. The swimming pool is great it is just right for familys with both younger and older children.
Breakfast time is good you are given the choice of what time you want eat when you book in, this is so that there are not to many people turning up at the same time, the system they got is great, also there is plenty of variety of food available.
The shuttle bus arrives every 20 minutes, sometimes you can get a seat but so what you are only on the bus for 5 to 10 minutes and every body is so excited because they are going to see mickey and his mates that nobody worries about siting.
Once again I just want to tell every one that the Explores Hotel is Fab. Just go and have a good time

Brilliant!. We had a crew room for 6 which gave our older two boys a bit more privacy, and our 5 year old was with us.The swimming pool was quite small, but was never too busy and the older boys spent most of their time in there when they weren't in the park. The Skallywags play area and pirate ship were a great hit with our 5 year old which gave us time to relax. Check-in and out were very efficient and hassle free. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was busy but only queued for cereal and then only for a couple of minutes. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hard to fault it . Our 15 year old didn't want to leave, which is unheard of!

Stayed in the Explorer with 2 Adults...
6 / 10
Mar 2008, Mr KT Fitzgerald

Stayed in the Explorer with 2 Adults and 5 children. Rooms were good, Facilities were also good. Breakfast was a bit of a cattle market. Trying to get a seat was chaotic. The quality of breakfast was pretty basis. Just bare continental. If you like loads of carbs then this will be for you. Got the supplemental breakfast (€6) one morning but none of the children would eat it. Had the buffet dinner one evening and it was excellent and pretty good values (€21 for Adults & €11 for the kids). The swimming pool was great for the kids and they got great enjoyments out of it. Service at reception was always excellent and very courteous.
The biggest disappointment and the main reason I will not return to this hotel was the shuttle bus service. It was very irregular. Had to wait 1 hour 15 minutes one morning and when you do get on you are like sardines. We got separated one morning as I could not get on with the buggy and this caused no amount of concern and worry to the rest of the family when they had to go on ahead. Had to hire a taxi on the morning of the last day to ensure we got to the bus station on time to catch the VEA shuttle back to the airport.
As I said never again unless I have my own transport....

jeeze, i loved my stay at disney :]....

jeeze, i loved my stay at disney :]. i went on a disney holiday with my mum, some people would think i am to old to be going to disney with my mum at 17 but i have been 6 times before and loved it. we'd talked about going to disney so we thought we'd get it booked. we'd stayed in stayed in the santa fe & the sequoia lodge hotel other times we had been to disney and fancied a change in hotels so we chose explorers hotel. we booked the holiday for 2 nights, 3 days. we travels by caoch and eurotunnel so day 1 was traveling to disney. we set off on the coach at 5:30 am from bradford made several pickups at other places, traveled to the eurotunnel and arrived at our hotel just after 9pm that night (making plenty of toilet stops + a toilet on board too). by then the park was closed but we took a trip into disney village for a couple of hours. we had day 2 full days in the disney parks and set of at 8pm on the 3rd night.
the exlorers hotel itself was very good, great for kids. including a heated indoor pool, play area's, arcade rooms and much more. plus the hotel had 3 restaurants and 2 bars. the staff were helpfull and friendly, even made friends with one of the bar men :]. overall i had a brilliant time at explorers hotel, with the holiday costing just over £200 per person i think we got a great deal. i actually liked it that much that i am saving my cash to defo go again near the end of the year.

don't know whats wrong with people just got back from 2 nights 3 days at disney and wish i'd won the lottery so could stay there forever! hotel great location just 2 mins pink suttle bus ride (no 54) from the parks, yeah its not empty but managed to get a seat everytime...tip get in the back of the bus its less busy, even managed to keep our buggy unfolded on most trips. hotel reception staff were fine and graet with our 3 year old son, breakfast also fine we went down at 8 am both days and had no probs getting a table or food and drinks and the choice was great and could have as much as you wanted (great for letting kids try out new foods!) take some for lunch also everyone else seemed to. room was fine clean and tidy with towels and hairdryer which i thought was great as i'd forgotton to pack mine! our little one loved this hotel as much as he loved disney it's child heaven you could spend a whole day just chillin and playing at the hotel. parks are good although didn't think much of the studios and only went on the cars ride in there. top tip book a table in advance at cafe mickey in the disney village and get all your autographs and pictures with the charecters in there it'll save you hours of time in the park plus you won't get other people pushing in as each carecter comes to your table, also you must watch the parade but chose your spot at least 45 minutes before it's due to start. and enjoy your time with mickey and friends it's fab. hope you find this helpfull. any other questions then please email me @ poohsticks21@hotmail.com and i'll try my best to help. xx

we are just back from a fantastic...

Mar 2008, Ms Y.d Derham

we are just back from a fantastic holiday in disneyland, stayed at explorers hotel and would reccomend it for anyone with young children and teenagers, not a couples hotel as all the kids running around can be noisy. There was two adults and four children ages 17 15 4 and 2.The younger two would have been happy to stay in the hotel as there was so much to do.The pool was fantastic with a pirartes ship and open until 11 each night. We stayed in the new york disney hotel before and it was boring for children in comparison with explorers hotel. The food was the best i have ever had in a hotel in france. There was a buffet for 21 euro per adult and 11euro per child up to age 12.My younger two were free as they regarded them as babies. The food included starter, main course and dessert, help yourself as much as you wanted, plenty of salads, fruit and veg and different meats and fish plus potatos which seem hard to get in france as every
meal has fries. The desserts were fab all made by the chefs. The breakfast was buffet style with croissents,rolls.fruit.ceral,yoguart and juices, you could take as much as you liked which was great.Tip.keep some for lunch. The shuttle bus from the airport costs 17euro per adult free under two.Our driver dropped us at the hotel which he didnt have to,i found staff helpful, bedrooms tidyed everyday will return to this hotel as we were well fed, entertained and its only few mins from disneyland with a great shuttle bus.

had a fantastic time at the Explorers Hotel everthing was great and the kids loved Disneyland. The Hotel was great and the pool fantastic for kids as they could still go in after returning from a busy day at the Park. You did have to queue for breakfast and the shuttle bus but this is a disney hotel so you expect it to be busy. We all had a great time and would definetly go back.

I was very disappointed with this...

I was very disappointed with this hotel. It is soulless and smelly. Check in is a nightmare. The public areas are grubby, tables are dirty and left uncleaned. I didn’t see any evidence of any cleaning going on.
The rooms are basic, badly lit and unwelcoming. The restaurant is truly awful. Breakfast is the most basic I have ever had the displeasure of eating in any hotel. Chopped up cheese and ham that looked as if it was ready to feed to a dog, cereal, croissants and rolls and that was it. Horrible grubby, smelly dining area heaving with people. Very few staff around.
If you have a very young family then this hotel may suit as there is a reasonable pool and other facilities for under 5's.
Disneyland itself was fun especially the studios with some great rides and shows. Disneyland Park apart from a few 'big' rides is aimed at younger children.
This hotel really spoilt our stay, I don’t recommend it to anyone.
