I was concerned before I arrived at the hotel as I read a number of fairly negative reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised. My family had 2 rooms & we had such a good time. The staff were very helpful & friendly, the rooms were clean, spacious & comfortable the only negative with the room was it was hot as there wasn't any air conditioning in one of the rooms. The food was good with plenty of selection. We would recommend this hotel & would book it again on any return visits to Disney. A very good overall experience.

If you're travelling with active, hardy 7-12 year old swimmers and will be happy as long as they're happy, then this could be the hotel for you. Don't expect luxury, but it's clean, the beds are comfortable, the family rooms are actually two bedrooms (one with bunks) and sleep up to six (or four if adults want a little privacy), the buffet breakfast is very generous and the pool is a winner (open 'til 11pm for those who still have energy to burn after a day in Disneyland). Okay, the pool is a little chilly (I mentioned hardy!) and I wouldn't even consider eating there outside of breakfast but this is a hotel for those who plan to spend every possible minute in the Disney parks. Think of it as a swimming pool for the kids with a comfortable b&battached. Having said that, my 11 year old and her dad were happy enough chilling out there one evening when she felt too unwell to stay in the parks. If, on the other hand, your kids are not in this bracket and either old enough to appreciate Paris or so young they won't last the pace for full days in Disneyland (opens till 10pm!), then why not stay in Paris and take the train out? Train is part of metro and takes 40 mins from Chatelet or lots of other central Paris stops and costs very little.
- Holiday Date:Mar 2010
- Advice: Stay here if your kids will still appreciate a great pool after a full day in Disneyland.

Trust me to book this hotel and then read the reviews after! Becuase I had managed to read the reviews before we left and we were taking a car, we were able to take precautions. We brought plenty of drink with us so didn't have to rely on the machines (2 euros per can), we brought with us a mini wet suit for our son (as we read reports the pool was cold) we didn't leave valuables int he room and brought additional sleeping bags should the hotel be cold (which it wasn't). I have to say though, we had no problems, the rooms were cleaned every day, we had fresh towels, a porter even wheeled our things to our room for us and was helpful when we had queries. I overheard an Australian lady complaining that there were plastic cups to drink from in rooms and not mugs - the receptionist gave a call to one of the restaurants and she was able to borrow mugs. It is ideally situated for the pickups to Disney Parc/station (by the way the Parc is also the same drop off as the station) as it's the first stop so there are always seats available. The bedding was adequate and not luxurious but is a valid and reasonable alternative to the more expensive Disney hotels - as long as you don't epect the same standards. There was some spilt jam in the corridor which seemed to remain there for the duration of our stay but on the whole we felt the establishment was clean and my son enjoyed himself. Breakfast wasn't wonderful as there was no cooked foods there - croissants, cereal, toast, differing spreads and tea/cofee/juice making facilities - but no on is monitoring how much you have. We only bothered to attend once out of our stay and ate elsewhere as the Disney Village is packed full of eating establishements...even MacDonalds.
Overall we found it reasonable.

This is one of the worst hotels i've ever stayed in and very rearly do i complain about anything.
If your looking for a cheap stay and somewhere to rest you head for a few nights, this is the hotel for you. If not don't go expecting much else.
Staff are rude and unhelpful, swimming pool FREEZING and breakfast - chaos. Dirty trays, spilt cereals and ques to get seated.
Our room was ok although the swower leaked everytime we used it plus the heating didnt work. Beds were resonably comfortable and rooms were clean - that's about it!
Good luck to anyone staying here. My advice to you, spend the extra and stay in a Disney Hotel

We have just returned from a four night stay at Explorers Hotel, over the New Year period.Without doubt the worst experience encountered was our stay at this venue. The service was bad; food poor quality and overpriced;rooms tatty. We initially booked a 2 bed 2 bath Captains Cabin (suite)for a party of 3 adults and 2 children - having seen the website it appeared to meet all of our needs.Upon booking, we were advised that it was compulsory to eat at the hotel on New Years Eve; a buffet dinner with free wine, champagne, and entertainment; at a cost of 80 euros per adult and 20 euros per child. We arrived at the hotel and before being given keys had to pay in advance for the room and the compulsory dinner. We then found that our reserved room was a standard room, not the suite that had been booked. This was two rooms, one with 2 bunk beds, and the other 4 single beds, one bathroom, and no hanging/storage space for clothing. Staff blamed us, then the agent - Benotel - for not confirming the booking. They then claimed that further emails regarding other enquiries had not been received. They eventually agreed to move us to a suite on the following afternoon, for an additional £230 - payable in advance. Initially the keys wouldn't open the doors and replacements obtained, from the less than helpful staff. The suite was shabby, lacked linen for the sofabed - which had splits on the mattress, and smelt damp. Hot water was at times nonexistant, and when reported to "guest services", the response was "keep running the taps". This took in excess of 20 minutes to obtain WARM water. We met other guests, who had booked thru Expedia, and other agents, that did not have the compulsory New Year dinner, and arranged to spend the evening in Disney. When asked to confirm this, reception staff shrugged their shoulders and told us that booking directly with them DID mean that the dinner was compulsory, but not when booking elsewhere. The highly overpriced New Year dinner, was a buffet - not much choice of food - magician, clown, and disco, which closed down at 10.50pm. The free wine and champagne -1/2 bottle per person, then 47 euro for a bottle of wine and 7.50 for a beer. When challenged about the early close down of the entertainment, a manager (?) blamed it on previous years when guests left the venue early; so they decided not to stay open until midnight. Whilst speaking to this manager about the evening being ruined, staff decided to remove the recently purchased champagne and beer so that they could finish clearing up.
Food/restaurants in general:- overpriced buffet restaurant - 29.50 per adult/ 15.00 per child - with little food choice.
Captains table:- better choice but even more expensive than eating in Disney. EG: one course steak dinner 24 euros,3 course steak dinner in Disney 29 euros.
Small pizza 10 euros minimum, fries 4 euros.
Our 4 night stay was a disaster from the moment we entered this venue - ruined mainly by the complete lack of respect shown by staff - mainly managers.
If you really want to go the Disneyland Paris, PLEASE do yourself a favour and don't even consider this hotel.

We have just returned from a five day break at the hotel.
The hotel is fantastic for kids and my two year old is still talking about it.
The hoitel from top to bottom is clean and fresh with plenty to do for children. There is a fantastic pool, softplay area and pirates ship for them to play in.
The staff all speak english and are very helpfull. One evening my daughter fell of her bed and required a hospital visit (no fault of the hotel) they arranged for the paramedics to come to the hotel, translated and even picked us up from the hospital when we were finished!
The only reason I have not rated the hotel as 10/10 is the price of food and drink, however this is not a reflection of the hotel charging inflated prices more that it seems to be the case that food and drink in general are very expensive.
I cant stress enough how great this hotel is!

- Advice: Food is expensive in the park and not worth the cost. Head to Disney village for a McDonalds to sav

I recently visited this hotel - 8th - 12th June 2009
THE RECEPTION
Reception and Lobby is beautiful, really nicely cleaned, amusements for the children (small, coin required, carousel and a small coin required car ride)Very large reception area with plenty benches to sit. Staff are lovely and theres a couple of english members of staff, although the french members of staff spoke very well english. Seperate area for the customer enquiries, fantastic!
THE POOL
The Pool is average, in my opinion, not the largest of pools and a very small area that is very shallow for the younger children. there is a large ship in the center on the pool that is very fun, there is a large pirates head on the top of this ship and every few minutes a loud bell with sound and the pirates head fills with water then gets tipped upside down, brilliant for the kids.
Theres two slides for the children, one big green tunnel slide that goes outside and back into the pool, very good.
A smaller yellow slide for the young ones is brilliant, curves round a corner and back in to the pool.
When i visited the pool, it was extremely cold for me, it even turned my nephews lips blue!
We did make a complaint about this so hopefully they will warm it up.
THE POOL LOCKERS
The lockers for the pool are a little complicated and they have no english signs of how to to do it, basically:
1) you choose and empty locker and in the machine type what locker number you have chosen, then press the green button that says 'VALID'
2) choose a four digit pin code and enter this in to the machine and again press 'VALID'
3) close your locker after you have done all these. NEVER before.
to open the locker, repeat those steps...
THE ROOM
The rooms are basic hotel rooms, i was in a family room which consisted of one double bed and two single beds, very comfortable.
The bathroom consists of a shower and a sink, the toilet however is in a seperate room just next door, i have no idea why?!
There is a large samsung flat screen TV in the room which is lovely, you get the basic english channels, cartoons and SKY news, maybe the other odd channel but i never watched the TV much.
You get a small kettle and unlimited amount of paper cups as the cleaners will top this up for you every day.
When you arrive you are given a small bag with sugar coffee, milk, tea and hot chocolate
in. When this runs out you are able to go to reception to request more.
There is no balcony, but we were hardly in the rooms so no need for one really.
You get an open wardrobe with 6 shelves next to it with a safe on the top shelf, never used the safe so i am unaware of how you use it.
I have read reviews of valuble items going missing in the rooms, however i left an ipod touch, a mobile phone and a new ipod nano on show and not once did they move. The cleaners i had were trustworthy.
BREAKFAST
You give a time that you want to have breakfast between on arrival, any time between 7am and 10am, i went for half 9 and there was still plenty left.
You get a few different area, one for cereal - golden nuggets or these chocolate looking quaver things, quite nice though.
one for a full english breakfast (you have to pay 6euros though)
one for different types of bread, croissants, chocolate croissants, and some hard bread..
one for fruit and yoghurt (pineapple, melon and watermelon, berry, apricot or natural yoghurt)
one for ham and cheese
fridges for choclote spread and jam
HOTEL FACILITIES
There is a free pink shuttle bus that comes every ten minutes to the hotel that takes you straight to the Disneyland Park which takes approximately 10 minutes.
It does however stop off at two or three other hotels first, were the lucky ones and were the first stop so we are guarenteed seats!
There is a childrens play area downstairs which is okay, however the front door to enter is always rammed with shoes, and there are signs saying maximum of 49 children, however there are no staff to monitor how many children go in and for how long so there could be at one point be 20 children and at another point 100 children.. nobody checks which i don't like.
The food i nice but pricey. They sell pizza for 10.50euros and a portion of (beautiful) chips are 4euros.
A pint of coca-cola is 5euros and a bottle of 1664 is 6euro50.
not sure of any other prices thats all i bought
The gift shop is small and pricey again, a pen ranges from 3 to 5 euros.
many different keyrings around the same price.
cups and wine glasses between 8-15euros
childrens teddies range between 9euros-30euros depending on the size
photo albums are 15 euros
Massive car park if you are driving down, guarenteed a space.
INSIDE THE PARK PRICES
chips are all between 4 and 4.50euros, they are lovely but again expensive.
for a burger and chips and chicken nugget and chips with two drinks cost 19.90euros.
everywhere is the same price inside the park.
Overall i had a nice holiday, i think 5 days was long enough for me as it will expensive to stay longer and i was sick of eating the same things for breakfast.

we went to the explorers hotel as we thought it looked very nice in brochure as disney hotels were too expensive.check in was very fast and the rooms were spotless.house keepers came in all the time.the hotel was very clean the only thing which was not soo good was the price of food and drink hence the 9/10.we went to the restaurant once and it was all you can eat.there wasnt very much choice.we had our breakfast in the hotel as it was included in price that was really good.again all you can eat.being at disneyland though we only had a quick bite as we wanted to get to parks.staff were always very helpful.we were going to an eveing tour of paris(just amazing) and the reception helped us with that.also if we wanted a taxi they done that for us.at the end of our stay we werent to leave til 7pm so there is a left luggage locker you can use to keep all your suitcases etc.this was a massive help as we didnt have anything to carry about.you put ur own code in locker so no one else can get in to it.overall this hotel was brilliant.was really impressed with it and were planning on booking up next year to the same hotel.

what can I say-where do I start? DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL would be an honest advice to anyone that values there personal belongings and safety of their children and their sanity! made me proud to be from GREAT Britain and proud of our country.
play areas = DIRTY, staff = RUDE,when you can find one, usually all huddled around reception desk. Customer service/care = NON EXISTANT, RIP-OFF? They give a whole new meaning to the word!!!
And Food, absolutely terrible. Rooms, boast international channel tv's, yeah, only if you want to be ripped off-yet again! swimming pool, FREEZING beyond anything you have stuck your foot in before! and worse still, NO LIFE GUARDS-again french law doesn't say they have to. So, take your kids, watch them carefully and take a BIG packet of disinfectant wipes, take all the money you have got, you will need every last penny just to feed your kids! and DO not leave anything valuable in your room, because french law says unless you saw a person take your stuff, no crime has been committed!!, But you left your phone, or your ear-rings, or your diamond ring-don't matter, they have not seen it, and you can't prove it. staff smug and arrogant. Bye Bye France, and explorers hotel, never, never again!!

Booked this as a cheaper alternative to one of the Disney Hotels and pleased with the outcome. Was worried about the negative comments before we went but the hotel is clean, good facilities, great pool for kids (but cold water), rooms are basic but adequate - after all, they are only for putting your head down at the end of a long trudge round the Park - we had a Crew 6 for 5 or us, had double bed and 2 singles in the main room and a bunk in an adjoining room, all clean and made up daily. Yes there are paper cups for tea making but who cares about that! The trouble with Eurodisney is being in France - found the service everywhere to be excessively slow, we were an inconvience to the French (both workers and toursits), and everything is OVER-PRICED - cost of a beer is about £6 and a meal for 5 (2 adults and 3 children) is £100 plus. The pricing is everywhere in Eurodisney so not just in the hotel but I guess that the low Euro exchange rate does not help. We think that we might investigate going to USA Disney as the service is far better and food quality too. But Explorers Hotel is fine and would use again if returning to Paris Disney
