The hotel is beautiful, the food and service is excellent. The hotel boasts one of the most appropriate atmosphere's of any hotel I have visited in Austria. Be wary of charges. The night before our departure we were presented with a considerable bill. The management and... more

way above the average ski hotel..
from zzook
Mannis is a brilliant place to stay in Mayrhofen. Good location right on the main drag, handy for ski rentals next door and bars and cafes close by. Incredible food and extremely friendly staff in the hotel restaurant. Rooms were very good size and nicely kitted out. Bathrooms very clean! The pool on the roof was a godsend: late afternoon after a hot days skiing, sitting in the jacuzzi pool , sun streaming down and snowy mountains all around. Magic. Even went up there before dinner one night when it was all lit up, had a swim and a steam to soothe aching muscles before heading out. The Italian restaurant in the hotel is very popular and well worth a try instead of the hotel restaurant one night of your stay. Greek (?!?) barman is very affable and stays up as long as the customers are there! God love him. From talking to others in diiferent hotels we really felt that we had got the best deal.. I don't think we had any complaints at all ( and there were six of us!) We'll be back!
Great place to stay for skiing!
from SuZeeDee
Four of us stayed in Manni's Sporthotel while skiing in Austria this year, and it ranks of one of the best hotels I've stayed in while skiing in Europe. The rooms were lovely - clean and comfortable, although the decor left a bit to be desired. The bathroom was clean, nice robes & slippers provided. Overall the hotel's facilitites were very good. The spa area is very nice - the outdoor pool is fab at night, you can lie in the water and watch the piste-bashers at work on the slopes close-by. Really cool!! The food was really good, excellent dinners with a nice choice - plenty of food! The breakfasts were lovely - again, loads of choice and no shortage of food. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for our friends who had their 1 year old son with them. Location-wise I couldn't imagine better - close to the Penkenbahn gondola and just across from a bus stop if you want to travel further afield. The train station is about a 10-15 min walk in ski boots and carrying skis for those who wish to adventure even further than the buses will carry you! You're in the centre of the town with loads of bars etc. close by. I would definitely stay here again, in fact we're planning to go there again this winter!
Fantastic Hotel

Just got back after a great week ski-ing in Mayerhofen. This Hotel was absolutely fantastic from the rooms to the Restaurant with the food being worthy of mention. The Staff were very helpful and accomodating. Hotel has a small indoor pool and a larger outdoor one on the roof which we requested useage and they opened it for us. Centrally located on the Main Street and a 5 minute walk to the Penkenbahn it was ideally located. I would recommend this Hotel without doubt, we are intending to return to Mayrhofen in the future and will stay again at the Mannis.
excellent hotel

a group of 18 of us stayed here for a week and everybodies final conclusion was that we all loved this hotel.the rooms were clean and quite large ,the restaurant and service was excellent, location was right in the centre and close to the ski lift and last but not least was the barman philip who was great fun and really made our stay fun.the manager of this hotel should give themselves a big pat on the back.we will be back.
Loved Mannis Sporthotel
from tils
We have just returned from our 3rd stay in Austria! We loved the diversity of Mayerhofen and there are so many walks to to that 2 weeks are not enough. We are very well travelled, NZ, Oz, Carribean, Far East etc. Mannis is a home from home! It may not be the most palatial hotel, however the personal service far outweighs this. It is spotlessly clean and very quiet. You can wander up to the rooftop pool with the stunning views in your dressing gown and slippers [provided]. There is a sauna and steam room and on tap herbal teas and fruit. The meals are delicious and plentiful. I had special dietary requirements that were difficult to cater for and the chef altered the menu every night to cater for me. Even I dont manage to do this at home! The hotel owners were visible and the staff were excellent. We hired great bikes for 5 euros daily and cycled beside the railway track and when the cycle was too much we hopped on the train back to Mayerhofen. This is a fab hotel and worth a visit. Thanks to the staff... you were great!
Would definately return to this wonderful hotel

Very surprised to read the reports of small food portions. I am probably the greediest person ever when it comes to food and eat most people under the table. Found the portions to be perfect and felt comfortably stuffed after every meal. Am very fussy when it comes to food and me and my husband found the food and waiter service to be out of this world. I can honestly say that this is the best hotel i have ever stayed in. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly and the rooms are lovely. Can find no fault what so ever. We stayed here whilst skiing and thought it was so good that we are now planning to return for a walking holiday in the summer!
all good

Stayed at mannis for Christmas 2005. lovely hotel, our corner room for 2 adults and 1 child was a good size and very comfortable. The roof top pool was great with lovely views all over Mayrhofen. We stayed half board and found the food generally very tasty, portions can be small, and there can be a bit of a melee to get to the salad buffet, which dissapears quicker than it can be replenished. This however does not take away from the overall dining experience. Staff were very accomodating towards our 2 year old boy, offering variations on the set menu at mealtimes. There is also a comfortable lounge area to relax after a day on the piste. Mayrhofen itself is excellent and the skiing on the Penken is varied and expansive. The Ahorn is worth a visit, but only for a day for intermediate skiers and up, as the runs are short and uncomplicated, great for getting your ski legs back, but not interesting enough to keep you there. The red back to the bottom of the gondola is good and will finish off your time on this side of the valley. For beginners and families the Ahorn is great as all is close at hand, so nobody strays to far. The Penken has a much larger ski area, the only downside being that the only access from the centre of Mayrhofen is the Penken bahn which gets very crowded morning and evening with ski schools. The fact that there is no possibilty of skiing back to the resort means that you invariably face a queue to get of the mountain in the evening as well, which can be a pain. Overall though it is a good resort to which we will return, but not immediately and when we do, we will certainly consider mannis again.
Great hotel, but not enough food!!
from X5OT
Stayed at this hotel for a week skiing in January 2006. The hotel itself was lovely, very clean and well-kept, and the indoor/outdoor pool & outdoor hot tub were a real bouns after a hard day skiing. Having said that, the food, while very high quality, was disappointing. Tiny tiny portions of very fancy things - not what you need after a hard day on the slopes!! We really needed some nice bowls of pasta, etc to store up some energy for the next day!! We ended up feeling quite hungry on several days. The salad bar was poor, in terms of variety and quantity. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a lovely place to stay, and are happy to put up with tiny food portions. We will not stay again, purely because of the food - definitely not the stuff you need as keen skiers! Everything else about the place was great.
Mayrhofen is just fanatastic

Superb hotel in great location, mountains all round, views from the roof pool and jacuzzi sensatiional. Rooms and hotel spotlessly clean. Staff generally friendly. Unfortunately the food and service was not up to standard, the food is beautifully prepared but tiny portions, ice cream one day was two mouthfuls! tiny pieces of steak and fish, salad bar uninspiring. If you are late for breakfast and things have been eaten by early guests then they are loath to replenish things like bread, fruit etc, and twice when we asked for cooked items they did not appear at all, and waiting staff seemed to be at loggerheads with the chefs. Waited an hour for the main course one night! If you have a good appitite this may not be the place for you. Having been to Austria 5 times we were surprised to find this in the restaurant, which is where most hotels here excel. Mayrhofen and area are beautiful and great for summer walking. Recommend you buy a Zillercard which saves you money if you intend to use the cable cars and chair lifts and local transport.
Mayrhofen great for summer walking, Mannis Sporthotel lovely
from Anna002
Mannis Sporthotel: My husband and I stayed at the Mannis Sporthotel in Mayrhofen for a week in August 2004, and absolutely loved it. All the staff were really friendly and attentive, particularly in the restaurant. We stayed on a half-board basis, so breakfast and four-course evening meal were included in our room rate. Lunch was also included in the form of a packed lunch which you made up yourself, taking whatever you wanted from the breakfast buffet (fruit, crisps, cartons of drink and various rolls and sandwiches that you could make up yourself). We were a bit nervous about staying on a food-included basis before we went because we wondered if the quality of the food would be poor because it was included in the price. On the contrary, the food and the service were both excellent. We put on weight at the end of the week as we ate so much! The food was truly delicious and if you didn't like anything on the menu, they would make you up something different there and then. They really went out of their way to make sure you had four courses each evening if you wanted them! Our room was spacious and had a nice balcony, although the view was nothing special, but who really spends time in their hotel room when they're on holiday! The rooftop pool was absolutely great. It was very relaxing to sunbathe for a bit and dip in the pool, while admiring the views of the mountains. Mayrhofen: I know that Mayrhofen is a very well-known and well-liked skiing destination, but rest assured that it is equally great for summer walking. We took the cable cars up to the top of the mountains and had some great walks. Mayrhofen is very pretty too, with flowers everywhere in summer. Mayrhofen is bigger, busier and livelier than other places in the Tyrol, so if you are looking for total isolation and seclusion, then this is probably not the place for you. That is not to say it is a noisy or very busy place, but just that it does have shops and restaurants, and therefore more people, than some other places in the Tyrol, where you can't even get anything to eat hardly. We like fairly quiet places, and are not into drinking and clubbing, but we do like places that have facilities (e.g. a few shops and restaurants) and don't want total and complete isolation. Mayrhofen suited us perfectly. We hired a car, but made sure that the hotel we booked into had free parking as we had heard that parking in Mayrhofen is a nightmare. Be warned - it is indeed a nightmare. There is hardly anywhere to park, so do make sure your hotel has a car park if you plan on taking a car. We were mightily relieved that we had been warned about that fact.
