Just returned from a superb week in Obergurgl, the snow conditions were perfect! the Haus Gurgl was excellent, the room was superb, clean, roomy, and very well presented. The staff were very helpful, breakfast was excellent, evening meals were taken at the Edelweiss & Gurgl, again excellent.
I would reccomend the accomodation without reserve, the only improvement would be tea and coffee making facilities in the room, however this was only a phone call away.

We have just returned from an excellent weeks skiing in Obergurgl. We found Haus Gurgl to be a very friendly hotel. The rooms were clean & spacious with a powerful shower. The breakfast was a good continental selection with scrambled egg. The fruit salad was great.
We ate out in the evenings at the two pizza restaurants in Obergurgl and Hotel Wiesental. We tried to book the Fondue evening at the Nedderhutte on Thursday evening, but were too late.
It was our first visit to Obergurgl & just about everyone we spoke to were return visitors. It is true that there are very few queues for the lifts, even at half term. We will be returning.

Stayed for the third time; it's a small friendly place. Approx 5 min walk into Obergurgl's village centre, but directly outside bus stops going each way. Just below is a main lift into the heart of the skiing area. [No queuing].
The Haus Gurgl is on the main road but it is very peaceful & comfortable. It has a sauna & solarium
You stay bed & breakfast, typical continental with cereals & boiled eggs/ scrambled. Choice of drinks. There is a pizza restaurant [brilliant menu, must try the garlic soup...] & ski hire shop in the same building.
If you stay half board you go to the Edelweiss & Gurgl Hotel in the village. Service & food is excellent, 5 courses with choice of soup & mains. They really look after people with food allegies.
Quite Frankly I wouldn't stay anywhere else, unless you want to have a place with a swimming pool & pay an extra 2 or 3 hundred pounds!

Firstly Obergurgl comes very highly recommended from me, it is amazing the snow conditions were great and on the whole the people were amazing! Haus gurgl is nice as a bed and breakfast serving a typical continental buffet from 7.30 till 10 am however we were disappointed with the fact there was no discount for the hotels pizzeria which we would have eaten at most nights if there had been. We dinned in the evening at a hotel across the road, i wouldn't stay there if you paid me, the food was ok but they thought we were a party of 2 instead of three and they had us sit in a room on our own until the third day when they realised they had a table in the restaurant all along, moreover another restaurant which the hotel over the road owns was called something like krumpal stradl. We booked the day before going, when we got there they informed us that we had to book a day in advance for the fondue which they failed to ask us if we wanted the day before, the lady then had the nerve to ask if we thought she was a mind reader! We then went to the pic-nic which u could get fondue and it was pleasant and in my opinion under rated (do not be put off by the astro turf). Haus gurgl is in a good location and has a ski shop right next door. I really recommend a visit to the 'cu bar' where they serve the best hot chocolate. Also up the mountain is the Nederhutte which is amazing, quick service, good food and great waiters.Ski school is extremly good and the two rudi's as instructors and christian are the best :) hope this helps, will be visiting obergurgl next year but maybe staying in another hotel :)
