Lovely boutique type hotel in great area
from CMHDublin
Charming attractive hotel with lots of character and friendly staff. Quiet and brilliantly located near to all the main sites. Quiet area in the evening so if you want to go out clubbing every night, perhaps not for you, but there are enough little restaurants nearby including a lovely fish place. My room wasn't enormous (but I was on my own so they gave me a small double) but the simple elegance of the decor (designed by Belgian designer) made it seem more spacious than it was, it was light and airy and I could see Aghia Sophia and the...

It was nice
from wasapninworld
My wife and I stayed at the Celal Sultan hotel at the end of July 2007. It was second time visiting Istanbul but my first time with the wife. The hotel is a walking distance from all the major sites and we even got the view of Hagia Sophia from our hotel room. It was great. The service was good and staff very polite. The free hotel pick up service is great and the people carrier van was very nice and comfortable. Just a note here that right next to the hotel there is a airport drop of service which costs 4euros per person as opposed to 35...

thank you Celal- I'll be back.
from AussieWanderlust
Just back from my first - and definitely not last- trip to Istanbul where i stayed at the fabulous Celal Sultan. In a quiet side street but just moments from main attractions, this was a great base for a few days of exploring. The incredibly friendly and helpful staff took obvious pleasure in providing travel tips on how to enjoy their city, and they seemed to have all information at their fingertips. Bedrooms aren't luxurious but are comfortable and kept immaculately clean, view from the roof terrace stunning, breakfasts are plentiful,...

Loved the Celal Sultan
from dijoromi
A Tripadvisor member from Lincolnshire, England. We have just returned from staying for 3 nights at the Celal Sultan Hotel on our first visit to Istanbul. Its position makes it a marvellous base for exploring the Sultanahmet area of the city. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Cistern and Topkapi Palace are very close, and the Grand Bazaar is within easy walking distance. The hotel staff couldn`t have been more welcoming and helpful. They booked us a table at the Rami restaurant and we think this gave us a place on the top...

Lovely hotel at a great location
from krnworld
I stayed at Celal Sultan hotel for 3 nights recently. This hotel is located in Old City and major touristic sites like Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosques, Grand Bazzar are within 5-10 minutes walking distance. I took a shuttle bus (30 Liras) from the Ataturk airport to the hotel and it took about 20 minutes. Alternatively, the hotel arranges an airport transfer for 30 euros or you can take a metro and tram. From city to the airport, you can take a shuttle bus from a travel agent outside the hotel for 4 euros (8 liras). The good sized...

Great Location
from Anniekabanny
I made the booking via email direct with the hotel and arranged for them to pick us up from the airport. It took ages for us to go through customs and we didn't think the driver would wait for us but sure enough, he was there and we were picked up in a leather lined Mercedes van. This hotel was in the perfect location and all the historic sites were in easy walking distance. The room, although very small was tastefully decorated, air conditioned and had a modern bathroom with excellent shower. The bar/restaurant on the roof deck...

Fantastic location, service, rooftop dining/drinks, breakfast and rate
from JohnGaltUs
Positives are location in heart of old town but on a side street so low noise, service at all levels, views from rooftop restaurant/bar, buffet breakfast and room rates. Rooms were fair size and comfortable, although a little worn at edges like in the bathroom. Negatives are smoking in the lobby (rooms are non-smoking). A tip would be to use the hotel van for airport transfers (if you need a van, I don't know about taxi). We had 5 people, requiring a van from the airport, and the hotel van was 1/3 less expensive when we...

Fantastic Boutique Hotel- with the quint essential old charmof yesteryear
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the hotel in June 07 for 2 nights, then 2 nights away (on a tour to Gallipoli) then back for 2 nights. Seffer, the driver for the hotel was waiting for us at the airport- a lovely man who would not let me or our daughter wheel our suitcases- a real gentleman!! The van was more like a limo- complete with leather interior and about 12 seats just for the 4 of us!! Only thing missing was the spa pool. The driving is pretty agggresive in this part of the world- they drive very fast and toot their horns alot!! The...

Too expensive
from trevego
we picked this hotel because we have been told that it is location is good. It is really good but there are at least 100 more hotels in the same location;we found out when we see.The website of the hotel is great, everything looks fine. But when u come to the actual place you see that it is a sort of apartment block converted into a hotel squeezed in a narrow street. And the extra prices......Oooh; do not dare to drink anything there. Very very expensive, u can buy a bottle of whisky; for the price of a single in their bar. There are lots of...

from seamermaid0505
Little hotel idealy placed nearby Blue Mosquée,Topkapi, Sofia. The evenning is this part of Istanbul desert. Very very smal rooms and beds not comfortable. The staf is ok. Breakfast is good only the orange juice is very bad. If you want a hotel with a good price and a good situation this hotel is ok
