Best Western Eresin Taxim

I recently stayed at the hotel and wanted to state that iI had a very pleasant and relaxing time. Specifically, I felt that the standard of the environment and accommodation of the hotel ensured that I was able to enjoy my time in Istanbul. The staff including the front of desk, the waiters and the cleaners all exercised a confident but quiet competence and were always willing to assist me in an efficient manner. I went to a conference in Istanbul in June, 2007 and stayed in this hotel. Eresin Taxim was a mixed bag. The hotel is situated in a relatively quiet area, close to the busy Taksim square. However, there is construction work going on just beside the hotel. I had construction workers singing and working 5 meters from my window at 7th floor 1 am at night. Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights, entrance is very small and was in process of renovation, wouldn't actually imagine the hotel would be open in the state the exterior was. But staff very friendly and efficient, no complaints whatsoever with any member of staff. The room although it was clean, was one of the most outdated, reading other reviews i must think there are rooms that are updated and those that are from last century:) If you get an average price of 40 pounds may be worth it, but definetely not worth paying more for the... more

Good value in excellent location in the heart of Istanbul. 3 minute walk from the airport bus terminal at Taksim Square. 5 minutes to posh neighborhoods and easy access to business areas and tourist areas. Very attentive staff and free wireless!

Best Western Eresin Taxim.... For sure it was not the Best hotel, I stayed in. In their website they describe their guest rooms as comfortable, but when you arrive there, you will be surprised by the size... You can hardly move inside! Additionally, upon checking out, I had to pay $100 extra, for having "burned" the bed-side table with my cigarette. arrived late. friendly welcome. very modern room, plasma tv, cd player ( no discs) safe in room, brilliant bathroom including jacuzzi bath, unfortunately a/c stopped working after 2 nights, open wardrobe and lack of clothes space, breakfast more than adaquate if not inspired, bar defininitely not up to 'Irish' standards ie dead as dodo, new extension soon promising views of bosphorous, jazuzzi swimming pool fun and sauna and steam room were a bonus. hotel central to taxim square and walking distance to main shopping street/night... more

The Eresin Taxim Hotel in Istanbul is clean, friendly and conveniently located to Taxim Square. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English. Wireless internet service cost 15 Euros per day and was only available in the lobby. International phone calls were more expensive than what I paid in other hotels in Istanbul and on the Mediterranean, but the cost was about what I would have expected to pay for an international call made in a hotel in the US. Having travelled extensively around Europe and the Middle East, I can without a doubt say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It is advertised as 4 star hotel, but more befitting would be to rate it 2 stars or 3 stars if you are feeling generous. The staff barely spoke English and were rude. This hotel is located a couple of blocks from Taxim or "Taksim" Square. Generally a nice area, with many hotels on the adjacent blocks. Hotel is now operated as a Best Western Hotel. Staff had limited English skills, and given the language barrier, the staff were not particularly personable. Rooms were clean and pleasant, altho a bit worn. Bathroom was small and crowded, with no counter space, and the sink immediately in front of the toilet. A/C seemed to barely be working. There was no Internet broadband access at the hotel.... more

I have just returned from a trip to Istanbul and had the misfortune of staying at the Best Western Eresin Taxim Hotel. This hotel is completely devoid of atmosphere and had the worst breakfast buffet I have ever endured. The restaurant displays the same lack of imagination as the rest of the hotel with the food being pedestrian at best. The room I stayed in was faded and, although spotlessly clean, I spend as little time there as possible.
