Just returned from one week at this hotel. We have previouly stayed at another hotel in this chain in Greece. We like the hotel, the room was spacious and comfortable, the staff was pleasent, although the reception staff where not always helpful. The pool area and eating area around the pool was lovely and we never felt crowded. The only thing wrong with the holiday was the food, althought there was lots of salad and fruit at hand we did not enjoy the lunch and dinners that were provided. It appeared that the meals were always being repeated but with a slight alternation, and there was a lack of communication from staff to say where lunch was being served, either the chinese or italian by the pool or in the main dinning room. We did enjoy this week but would not perhaps go to this hotel again. We would also not recommend this holiday if you have children around eight or nine as the activities were very poor and you were constantly being pressured to take part. It did feel like a 18 - 30 hotel at times.

Great hotel if you want to eat or swim in swimming pool, but in the middle of nowhere.
Drinks were awful, only water, beer and wine drinkable, tesco value orange juice is like ambrosia comparing to that liquid served by the hotel.
Room standard well below four stars, hotels beach? i have never ever seen worse.
Internet 4euro per hour because... like i was told at reception "you are on all inclusive, so you have to pay for a few things only"?!?!
Well, i paid for that, didnt i???

just got back from the hotels finall week of the season
we stayed in the bunglows by the pool which was very clean and tidy the bedding was changed every day only thing was no kettle and beds were a little hard
it was great to see the hotel didnt let standards slip as we were the last guests for them
the food was great a fantastic choice for adults and kids and it was all fresh
the pools are great and cater for all ages with good size shallow and deep areas
the only thing that didnt do the hotel justice was the entertainment even our rep admitted it was below par but has promised a change for the next season i would really recomend the hotel to any familys we thought it was great and will be thinking of re booking!!

Me and boyfriend stayed at this hotel from the 30th sep to 7th oct 2008. We stayed in one of the bungalows seperate from the hotel which we found really nice, with a slight view of the sea and the main pool area.We found the hotel very nice and modern and the food was excellent with a large variety to suit all people.Food is served all day long with breakfast and evening meals served in the main dining area and lunch and snacks served all day from the pool snack bars.Their is also a chinses kiosk and italian snack bar where they do great pizzas. The pool area was fantastic with 3 large swimming pools and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The pool area was the main thing that stood out for the hotel, the best ive seen from a hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful all the time and never rude or ignorant. The beach is nice although quite stoney but the view is beautiful. The only thing that was a let down about the hotel was the evening entertainment although the kids enjoyed it the adult enertainment wasnt great, i believe this was due to it being the end of the season and that acts were brought in usually in busier periods. An advantage to being all inclusive was that it was self service with the beer n soft drinks so you didnt need to queue and the kids could help themselves but if u didnt want a lager then all other drinks were served at the bar with no fuss. Their is much to do outside of the hotel, just a few shops and bars but everything you need is right there in the hotel including a shop. If u do want to venture out their is platanias just 5mins taxi drive away that will cost around 5 euros.Or their is chania main resort which is very very busy but has all other bars shops and restaurants. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and will definetly be returning this hotel again next year for a fortnight.Ignore what the other reviews say slating this place, its fantastic!!!!!!

The ONLY thing that spoilt this holiday was the absolutely clinical precision of selfish guests who daily reserved all the round pool front sun loungers which they did not on some occasions, come to occupy for several hours.
The management should stop this practice immediately

just got back from a week hols all inclusive at the creta princess and the only thing i am sad about is that i never booked for two weeks, great pools, great facilities, great beach, great food............ yes the rooms let it down slightly but one , who sits in their rooms all day and two this is basic greece we are talking about. also the animation team on the nightlife front let it down a little (there is only so much agadoo! and the birdie song you can take) but my kids loved every minute of it and being the ages of 11,7,2 the holiday catered for all of them in a great way, there is always something to do. i must add just make sure you set your alarm for the towels on sunbeds. all in all a great family place and probably the best holiday we have had in years, roll on next summer holiday!!!!!

Arrived back from the Louis Creta Princess on the 10th June after a 2 week holiday with my family of 4 & another family of 4. We had bungalow rooms side by side with a side sea view. The rooms are lovely, very cleverly designed to fit a double bed & 2 singles which could be used as couches if there were only 2 of you in the room. Quite small when fully occupied although my family with children of 8 & 10 found it perfectly adequate. Maid service is every day & very efficient.
The pools & grounds are just as lovely as on the photo's & we found everywhere clean.
The resturants were all lovely, in the day you can choose from the italian ( pizza highly recommended), chinese (not our favorite) or a variety from the poolside bar which always included meat or fish barbecued in front of you. In the evening dinner was served in the main restaurant which always had a good varitey of food & usually included a carvery meat as well. Salads were of a very high standard & are available at lunchtime & dinner. Breakfast had all the usual ie toast ceral & fry up but also had pancakes most days & yogurt, fruit & crossants.
The beach is a mixture of sand & pebbles with a small cluster of rocks at one end that all the children take their nets to fish from. There was a lovely breeze on the beach which when it got very hot was very welcome.
We had no problem getting sunbeds by the pool or on the beach & there were additional sunbeds piled up around the pool if more were needed.
The animation team do the entertainment in the day & evening. They took the children off to do various activities during the holiday ie football, crazy golf & basketball which they really enjoyed. They also did lots of activities for adults & children ie table tennis competition, aqua aerobics, volleyball, darts etc. There was no pressure to join in with the activities if you didn't want to. The evening entertainment was a bit amature but the children found it hilarious. A few proffessional shows wouldn't have gone a miss. The first choice team & the amimation team both do a mini disco for the younger children which is very good.
The Pirate ship on the beach is a great hit for all the children.
We took the shuttle bus to Chania which is a lovely place, very pretty and well worth a visit, but find somewhere to eat away from the main harbour if you are on a tight budget. We also took a trip on the little train to the water park which was also a good day out. You can order a packed lunch from reception the day before, when you go out for the day, which consisted of sandwiches, salad, crackers cheese & cake with a carton of juice & fresh fruit. Well worth it if you don't mind carrying it. I noticed that some people had ordered one to take to the airport on their trip home!
The hotel itself is slightly remote & the only drawback would be that there is nowhere to walk around in the evening. Platanias, the next village along is only about 15 minutes away & can be reached by the main bus which picks up right outside the hotel every half hour.
We had a fantastic holiday & would definately recommend a trip.

We nearly didn't book for this hotel after reading some of the reviews, but on the basis that all hotels we looked at had some bad reviews we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. I've come to the conclusion that British holidaymakers aren't happy unless they are complaining.
Yes from the outside the Louis Creta Princess could do with a coat of paint but how many times do you hear "never judge a book by it's cover". The interior and grounds were beautiful and well maintained.
We are a family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 children under 9, we had two connecting rooms which were basic but clean and comfortable with an excellent maid service every day. Our view from the balcony was overlooking the pools and trees and was truly lovely.
Our kids had a great time on the pirate ship which is basic but fabulous for climbing up and down. The beach is stony in places but still quite sandy.
The food was beautiful every night and none of us found it difficult to fill a plate, including the children. We never had to wait for a table and the staff worked hard to clear tables and reset them asap, although there was never a shortage in all the time we were there. Plenty of high chairs available for every meal sitting. There were flies in the main restaurant but in a hot country that is to be expected.
When we were at the hotel in the day we spent it in the pool for younger children and it was fabulous. All the pools were clean and there were plenty of loungers for everybody. We were poolside at various times of the day and not once did we have a problem finding loungers.
I found it hard to believe reading previous reviews that people were short of things to do. We played table tennis, mini golf, tennis, boules and water aerobics plus there was other things on offer too but we were limited with the children. Life is what you make it and the hotel can only provide things for people to do, they can't force people to participate.
We loved our trip to Chania on the free bus provided by the hotel. The harbour was enchanting and the people were lovely, especially when the breeze blew our eldest's hat into the water. No sooner had she started to cry than a lovely lady who owned one of the stalls was on her hands and knees with a broom trying to fish it out. A younger local man took over and didn't give up until he had successfully retrieved it.
I have read unflattering reviews regarding the staff. We found them all to be efficient and polite and excellent at their work. On the day we were checking out a porter turned up on a buggy to take our cases to reception which saved us the struggle of coping with cases and children! Some cynics may say that staff only do things for tips but any that did anything for us disappeared before we had chance to tip them.
The only thing that let the hotel down as far as we were concerned was the entertainment crew. Our daughters loved the mini disco prior to the nights entertainment but we rarely stayed longer than 20 minutes after the show started as it was so dire. Our eldest had been particularly looking forward to the Grease night but was bitterly disappointed as the crew were just miming to the soundtrack (dialogue as well as songs) and were horrendous. I know these teams are never of a professional standard but these were by far the worst we've ever seen. That said I assume they change every season so next time we go it might be better.
In short, we had a fantastic time at this hotel and would recommend it to anybody. We are looking to go back next year, we've never felt the desire to return to the same place before which should speak volumes.

We have just returned from 1 weeks all inclusive (4-11 Sept 07) at the Louis Creta Princess and I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We are a family of 4, two adults, and 2 teenagers. We have been on many all inclusive holidays and found this rated well amongst similar Greek resorts.
I had read many reviews giving reports of bad accommodation, bad food, dirty shabby surrounds, and un-helpful and miserable staff. I found the complete opposite to be true. Our connecting rooms were quite big enough, clean, room service every day and bigger than many package holiday hotels.
The food was very good, not cold and plenty of choice. We may have been lucky in the week we chose but there was always a choice of seats, tables cleared promptly of used plates and friendly staff in all areas of the hotel.
We never had to guard sunbeds, always available even later in the afternoon. The pool was fantastic and cleaner than most we have been in.
The area the hotel lacks is daytime facilities and evening entertainment. Our teenage children had been looking forward to the water sports, this turned out to be windsurfing.
The animation team were ok, not the best. The evening shows were pretty bad, most people leaving half way through.
I would like to say in closing how helpful the hotel staff and First Choice rep were when one of my children had an accident and needed to go to hospital to have her leg x-rayed and subsequently set in a cast. They put themselves out, arranged a wheelchair and were constantly asking if they could do anything to help (the accident did not happen at the hotel).
Crete is a lovely island, Chania harbour is beautiful by night, and we would definitely return to see more. The Creta Princess is a good place to sightsee from and we would consider returning here in the future.

We have just had a fantastic holiday at this hotel. We stayed in the bungalows by the pool which even though a bit small for a family of 4 where clean. The food was great they even had a children's choice.
The pools were lovely my two children were never out of them. The hotel has their own entertainment team for the day and evening times. Which the children loved.
The reception staff were fantastic they swapped our room from the main hotel to the bungalow which no complain or charge.
The rooms do have air conditioning if you need it. A bus goes 3 times a day free of charge into Chania every day and the reception provide free towels for your sun bed instead of taking your own out.
First Choice seem to be the main tour operator for this hotel. We never saw our Thompson rep for the whole of the holiday.

we went for a two wk stay and really enjoyed our holiday apart from a few things, to many rude and greedy eastern europeans who also reserved sun loungers for their whole holiday and was never told to remove them so many days were unable to get sunloungers complained to hotel staff but wasn't interested. The waiting staff and food were excellent no complaints there and plenty of choice just needed to go late for meals so you weren't pushed and shoved by foreigners for food thinking that they weren't going to get anything. Was also told they got a really cheap deal for there hotel which is certainly unfair as we paid over £2000 for our holiday. Would like to thank the english animation team Crystal,Amy,Lars,Bobby and Thessa if it wasn't for them my children would certainly not have enjoyed their holiday as there was also no kids club for the english kids.
