The Hotel is fantastic, the pools are very clean and spacious, the rooms are in some retrospect basic but most Greek hotel rooms are.
The food is enjoyable that offers Cultural and English cuisine, the staff and animators are very helpful and polite towards guests no matter the time of day.
The beach is just literally about 1 minute from the hotel which is private with beautiful sand and water, plenty of sports available for all ages so no boredom will strike and finally the location of the hotel is perfect for not only families who seek a peaceful getaway, but also for the younger generation.
The town is only a taxi ride away which offers a variety of bars.
I hope this review will be useful as I am only speaking the truth. I recommend that you should go there for yourself as it will be a memorable holiday.

After much debate and deliberation between ourselves and family and friends, we booked our main holiday with First Choice for a fortnight at the four stars Louis Creta Princess Club Hotel, Crete. Our party consists of 4 adults and 2 teenagers (14 and 16).
Having just returned from this holiday, I wish to make you aware of our immense and unanimous dissatisfaction we had to endure from 17th October to 31st October 2006
This Hotel fell very short of the description and high standard they set out in there brochure.
The children’s organised activities were very disappointing only archery and basketball available. We too shared their disappointment when the Chinese Restaurant, out side BBQ with show cooking, and pizza Restaurant all closed and disassembled ready for storage.
Although the pool area was very nice, several stray dogs constantly begged food and left excrement around. The beach wasn’t much better with rubbish, plastic bottles and debris scattered all over, and no attempt was made to clean it up.
The only restaurant available served predictable, poorly presented meals, using very cheap cuts of meat, often served cold and infested with flies. Only after complaints from me and other guests did the food eventually get covered.
The hotel standard of cleanliness everywhere was very poor, and when our complaints were given to the hotel reception unsatisfactory explanations were given. The First Choice Reps were made aware of our concerns and dissatisfaction of the situation, and I understand they are making a report of the events themselves.
Since the 20th October we watched the hotel staff closing down the hotel around us, from closing the pool bar early 8:00pm to moving chairs sun beds and tables into storage whilst we were sat next to them. We felt like unwanted guests.
In summary we would like to describe our holiday as Budget at a Luxury price, which fell drastically short of everyone’s expectations.

I went to Louis Creta Princess with my partner for 2 weeks all inclusive (oct 2006).
For 4 star accommodation I was quite shocked when we arrived as the hotel from the outside looked slightly battered, the reception area is quite small and upon room allocation I burst into tears. The rooms are very dated and the beds are extremely hard.
The pools are very nice and actually look like the brochure's pictures < probably the only good thing about the holiday.
The Chinese buffet restaurant never opened once, the Italian restaurant was only open one week out of our two however this was due to bad weather. The Italian restaurant opens from 10.00 am until 3.00pm it has pizza, pasta, toasties and salads etc however the pizza is made at 10.00 in the morning and is not available until 1.00pm?
The snack bar in the hotel bar/lobby had food put in at 10.00am and was left there until someone could be bothered to take it away, I wouldn’t touch it if my life depended on it, talk about food safety regulations, it was basically left over’s from breakfast.
Breakfast opens between 07.00 and 10.00 now I like my food and can pretty much stomach most things but the food was so cold you had to wonder if it had been cooked however there was a good variety of things from sausages, bacon, scrambled egg, cereals bread selections etc, etc, everything on the breakfast menu was very bland!
The evening meals were served from 07.00pm until 9.30pm. I noticed that the food was put out at 6.30pm and it stood there until 07.00pm when there was a mad rush of several hundred people fighting to get some warm food. The food was cold for the whole of the two weeks we was there, and several sections of the restaurant weren’t even open. A waste of time!
The entertainment: I have to applaud the animation team in particular a guy called Eddie who was fantastic. Although there was nothing much to do in the grounds they tried there best to keep all ages entertained, the disco area reminded me of peter Kay’s bingo hall in phoenix nights. I went to a few of the shows they put on and the best one was Greece Lightning. The animation team mimed their way through an actual DVD of the film, quite hilarious but fun.
I would say there is a wide mix of nationalities at this resort: English / German / Dutch / Swiss however I came to the conclusion this hotel is catered more for the over 50's.
The beach is full of stones & rocks and is quite ugly. The drinks tasted watered down and the shop in the hotel was extortionate, there is a shop literally opposite the hotel and is half the price and the staff are much more friendlier.
Overall not a good holiday and I think the brochure from first choice misrepresents this resort.

I went to Louis Creta princess with my mum and dad for two weeks although I was on my own (I’m an extremely shy person) the animation team wouldn’t take no for an answer to get you up dancing and joining in on the games! We came back and first choice had to use 3 coaches and a couple of taxis to transfer the English back to the airport there was also a lot of people due to fly back to Manchester later in the day. :(. I enjoyed every minute of it the food, drink, entertainment activities during the day etc.
The animation team there are brilliant especially Laura, there evening entertainment is excellent the dancing is perfect and on time, the comedy shows aren't brilliant but them made you laugh at how stupid they were! He he I still cant work out when the team rest in the day, they start at 10am doing games and pool side activities during the day they then perform the show from 9 and are in the disco non stop dancing.
There is a lot of choice on the food but you do get bored of it by the end of the holiday because there is a nonstop supply of it! Normally all inclusive ice cream isn’t very tasty but at Creta Princess is fab I couldn’t eat enough of it! The alcohol isn't as strong as it would be if you had to by it but that’s a good thing as you drink all day and night.
The rooms are small but you only put your head down a few hours, the bar staff and most hotel staff are very helpful.
The swimming pool is perfect for the younger children as you walk into it and is stays shallow for a while and you can keep an eye on them.
I strongly recommend this hotel to families and couples! PS do not let the kids have laser guns during the shows as the disrupt the shows... enjoy your holiday if you are going there!

This hotel was ok and it's size. We ordered a room with side sea view but because we didn't find the papers until the end we were stuck away from others until we complained and got a swimming pool view, (still not a beach front)
The food was good, for lunch served 1-3 you could have pizza area with pasta and salad, or in another section have a Chinese (if you call it a Chinese), or have a meal by the pool, their lunches were always served outside. You have a lighter lunch in the main hotel which was open 3pm til midnight which was a salad, some hot snacks, bread and Madeira cakes (very lovely) it was quiet and out of the heat.
Swimming pools were good (although people including my son) kept cutting their foot in one of them (where the games were played) this happened to several people. The instructions were to not dive in or jump from the bridges, but people did and there were no attendants to say otherwise. The location of the hotel was not great as there was nothing much around, with no paths towards the front of the hotel and the beach is not really a place to go for a morning stroll as when they say shingle they mean shingle with rocks, stone and gritty sand, which you could easily break your ankle on.
The hotel rooms were a very downside, when they say basic they forget to mention claustrophobic in both room and bathroom. They have two single beds and a sofa that can attach another bed on top. Oh they also only have 2 draw spaces and a wardrobe, one side is full of winter covers and sheets, so clothes space hardly any. The bathroom not much to go on. The cleaner she only changes your towels 3 times a week and bed linen the same (if she felt like it).
The cleaner, she mopped the floors (she might as well have left it as it was before because it would have been cleaner. She used the same water from all the other rooms she cleaned, the floors didn't dry and when you wiped them yourself the tissue was a dingy yellow colour which smelled of urine. She did not clean under the beds as there was about a months or more worth of dust.
First Choice and the hotel did good entertainment for the children although timing was not great in the evenings as food was served from 7-9:30, the children’s disco was at 8:30, so dinner was always a rush job and never feel as though you could relax as you were clock watching.
Entertainment for adults (2) very poor, they only have a stage outside which is where all entertainment was held, no other place. It was the same routine each week, (the animation team worked very hard as they really worked all day and night). There was no where for adults to dance with their children (oh a disco which started at 11 till 2am but no-one turns up, no atmosphere and was usually full of young kids that were allowed to run around all hours of the night). You could not relax and stay up all night as there was nothing to do and drinking from plastic cups was not my ideal of relaxation with a pint. Only in the hotel was where you would get glass drinks from which was away from all entertainment.
We went into town Chania. it was too hot to walk around, too dirty and smelly, oh the market well might as well called it an indoor mini mart about 10 shops inside, that sell food and lots of knives that were on display as if it was candy. All over Crete this was. It was also very expensive especially in their town city Chania. Watch out for bogus cafes where you get a drink we ordered 8 drinks 4 lemonades, 1lrg beer, 2 small beers and an orange juice, 35euros, toilets were filthy and usually unisex. We went to another place to drink ordered 5 lemonades, 1 large beer and orange juice 17 euros (much better than before still expensive).
I personally would not go back to Crete!

Just come back from 2 weeks at this Hotel what a fantastic place. The food is wonderful and so much of you would certainly not starve. Plenty of drinks help yourself to all drinks except for cocktails and spirit even in the dining room. There is no dress code as stated in the brochures.
Do not listen to bad reports about this hotel it is excellent. The rooms are nice and clean. They were cleaned everyday towels changed when needed and as far as the comments about the air conditioning there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The Garden Rooms are really nice.
Entertainment not too bad. The kids club brilliant they have three different times and they even take the kids for their evening meals a couple of times a week. The children’s play ship on the beach is great and very safe.
The beach is the only down side as it is pebbles and not nice sand but with the wonderful pools there is not much need to go to the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

Ok the hotel may need a lick of paint, but overall we had a great week here with our 2 kids (7 & 11). The beach is all pebbles, the entertainment at night isn't up to much, and the rooms are small, but on a positive note, the pools were lovely, the hotel staff were polite, the Italian in-house entertainment team were great with the kids and the food was really good, especially at lunch times with a choice of fresh pizzas, pastas, salads, barbecue or even Chinese.
The drink choice for all inclusive was excellent. The beer, wine & kids drinks are on tap, so you never queue. There is also a wide selection of spirits included with 3 different cocktails each day. There are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance, and a larger village a 10 min taxi ride away.
To sum up - 3rd all inc we've been to and probably the best. Would definitely go again!

Our 3rd return to this hotel and it did not let us down. The accommodation is spotless the staff are friendly (from the ladies who clean the loos to the Manager).
Not a place to go if you are on a diet though as the food is fantastic even though the menu is repeated on your second week there is an abundance of choice so you cannot fit everything in on your first week anyway. The reps try their best with the daytime activities - some would say too hard as they can be a little annoying if you just want to read and soak up the rays.
The only downside to this hotel is the evening entertainment, for a very large hotel the area designated is far too small. Needless to say we have just booked again for August this year. Hope to see you there!!!

We were very disappointed in this hotel. We’ve been all inclusive for the last 4 years and to hotels in the same chain (Louis) - and had very good hols. This hotel was poor by comparison - the food was very bland, dining room was barren, noisy and crowded - quite horrible really - unless you go in the half board bit, which is better. We were amazed at how miserable the staff were. The pools were good and yes it’s true, the lunchtime food was much better than the dinner - but that’s about all we could say in its favour. The hotel building is very tatty and in need of a major makeover/repairs and if you have anyone in adjoining rooms, or above that is remotely noisy you’ll certainly know about it ! Otherwise we liked Maleme. It’s very quiet (no good if you want nightlife entertainment mind) but if you like nothing more than a wander along a quiet beachfront in the evening and a handful of quite pleasant restaurants you then you’ll enjoy it here. We’d go back to Maleme for sure - but not to the Creta Princess - ever !

3hrs 40mins flight from Gatwick and only 35 mins transfer from Chania (or Hania as they call it).NOT 1hr 20 mins as stated in the brochures.
We had a garden ground floor room over looking tree’s not the best views and not that big for 2 adults and 2 children and an infants in cot. I would highly recommend having interconnecting rooms if you have kid. Not that it really mattered too much we only showered and slept there. Thinking about the showers mind the baths they are very sloppy you might slip, also the air conditioning wasn’t to good either. Sheets, towels changed often and when needed, rooms are clean enough. 3 euros a day for safety box in room, to be paid at the end of week. In room....Shampoo & soap dispensers, Small fridge, hair dryer, Wall Radio, TV, phone but no kettle!
FANTACTIC POOLS...... with bridges. You must REMEMBER to get up early about 6-7am to put your towels out or you won’t get a sunbed, "sad I know but you will have to do it". Take your own towels or you can hire some but they will fine if you use the room ones.
FOOD.....Bucks fizz for breaky fresh pancakes, waffles, omelettes all alternate mornings. Lunches have to be the best meals of the day BBQ freshly cooked meats great, pizza’s A1 yummy..... salads, spag bog and so much more plus CHIPS!! All the fruits are good too must not forget the Profiteroles:-)
I wasn’t very happy with the dinners as I didn’t really want to rush to change for dinner early, if you weren’t there by 9pm you didn’t have a choice. Kids meals started a little earlier that was a good idea.
P.S there’s no dress code as stated too for men as far as I could make out. You could get cakes and biscuits and sandwiches till late in main building. NOT many high chairs and not all very safe by the pool bar area.
DRINKS free serve tea, coffee, cold beer, red n white wine all quite good! coke, orange, lemonade, soda water, kids cocktails and water all free serve. Daily change of cocktails at all three bars and normal drinks.
There is a mini market on site but it is DOUBLE the price of the little shops down the next road found along bottom of the beach to the right, so go out to them for all the kids blow up floats.
CHILDRENS kids club was good they could win certificate that were given out in the evening before mini disco. The animation team were new the week we went and were funny!! Disco in main building from 11pm everyone welcome.
BEACH.... was very stony, sea was clear but a little choppy. Pirate ship was quite cool though. You could hire all sorts of things to play all day long.
DAYS OUT..... The little blue train Mmmmm not that fun, we got on it to Chania for the morning, seem to take forever. We had to use that train again to the water park, that was a good day out, BUT again don’t buy it from the reps it cost me 75euros and the next rd do the same pick up at hotel for 55 euros (70mins travelling to it).
Photos prices at the park are 5 euros each or 3 for 10 euros.
Great holiday for a family with kids only I’d say. I’d go back but I never go to the same place twice.

Excellent holiday! Totally recommended for all types of holiday.
The hotel is lovely. Although Maleme area is quiet everything you could possible need is on the hotel grounds. The pools are fantastic and it’s right on the beach where there are lots of watersports.
Cleanliness of the hotel is perfect and the staff can’t do enough for you.
The food was great, big selection and lots of different places, the BBQ and pizzeria are fantastic for lunch!
The animation team are great (you have to join Water Gym with Thomas!) There are constantly activities taking place so you can have as busy or relaxing holiday as you choose!
Definitely recommended!

We travelled with 2 adults and 2 children aged 7, 8 we had a wicked time. The hotel was excellent just as in the brochure.
Food was good and drink was ace. Loads for the kids to do.
Entertainment was for all ages.
Beach is good bit pebbly but good for a suntan.
Hotel room bit small but we managed it great views from balcony.
A free bus which takes you to next town well worth going to do some shopping.
