Have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Almyrida Beach hotel. The hotel was very clean, towels changed most days, the food was a very good standard even for my children. The pools were quiet and everything was wonderful the staff were so helpful.
The villiage is also very nice, and room on the beach even in August.
I could not find anything to complain about.

The Almyrida Beach Hotel is a fabulously friendly, very clean and restful place to stay. The staff are all first class, nothing too much trouble and they all seemed to be genuinely, constantly smiling.
The food was first class and not overpriced and, price wise, comparable with local tavernas. The service was brilliant. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and very clean. The pool was lovely (and I don't like pools).
The sandy beach is only about 50 yards away and this is also kept very clean; I saw it being tidied every morning.
There is a good local bus service to Chania and this takes about 45mins in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Tickets can be purchased form the hotel.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

This was our second visit to the Almyrida Beach Hotel. We first stayed there in June for one week and were so impressed by the value for money (we booked through Med Hotels) and resort that we decided to go again in September for two weeks.
The hotel itself is of a good standard. The rooms were a nice size and the facilities great. It was also cleaned everyday. Compared to other Greek accommodation, I found this to be a high standard. The other reviews talk about the lack of entertainment. The Greek night was great and I think that is enough. I would be upset if they started putting other entertainment on and ruined the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. I think if people want more entertainment then perhaps they need to stay at busier resorts.
We found the food fine. The majority of the time we were there, there was something that suited us. Sometimes if there wasn’t much we would fancy, we would go out instead. It was nice to have that choice.
The resort itself is quiet and relaxing which is what appeals to us. There are a few bars and tavernas to visit. Our favourite bars were the new Atlantis Bar and Francoise. You are always guaranteed a warm welcome there. We loved going up to Plaka and having a nice meal followed by a drink in one of the comfy chairs in Takis Bar.
You should hire a car as there are so many lovely places to visit. We drove around all the little villages and visited less well know places such as Marathi. We also visited both Chania and Rethymon which are both gorgeous.
All in all a relaxing holiday in a nice small resort.

A family of five, including three children of primary school age, we stayed at the aptly named Almyrida Beach Hotel for fourteen nights from the 13th July 2007.
Almyrida is a small but developed resort some fifteen miles east of Chania. The beach is blue flag and patrolled by a determined young lifeguard who keeps an eye on the breezy sea front.
The hotel, located just back from the beach, is spotlessly clean and modern. The staff are competent, fairly friendly and always around. We had rooms next door to each other but the hotel does not offer those with adjoining doors.
The breakfasts and evening meals were buffet style, freshly prepared, and with a fair range of meal options. Our fellow guests were - at first - largely Swedish - but more English (Gatwick airport) visitors arrived as the fortnight drew to a close.
Our children enjoyed the clean, if cool, swimming pool which by and large was orderly and inviting, ironically other than when one of the airlines dropped off some cabin crew staff who managed to be a nuisance for a short time.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this resort and accommodation and may return next year, which as a rule we seldom do, normally seeking out somewhere new.

Just got back from a week in the Almyrida Beach Hotel. If you are after a relaxing, chilled out holiday this is the place to be. All of the people in the hotel are so friendly, the place is spotless and the resort is typical old Greece. Sit and relax with a bottle of Mythos and watch the world go by. If you are planning to holiday here have no fears you are in for a great relaxing holiday.

Lovely, clean rooms, with nice friendly cleaners, also the receptionist waiters and all staff concerned are friendly and helpful.
The hotel has a nice tranquil feel, great for a relaxing holiday, the pool is cleaned daily so is the entire hotel, no fault but the food is a bit dull, and cold.
I actually stayed 2 weeks here, the second week the food was being served in the new hotel opposite, which was still as dull.
Not much happening in the evenings no entertainment, but on Thursday Greek dancers and a singer arrived, this was for the first week none for the second week.
The bowling alley opened in the new hotel, and a pool table, a few problems with working, but hay it was something to do! Good food in nearby restaurants, buy your owns drinks from super market as the hotels are overpriced, and store in you fridge for the pool days.
Had a bad experience our second week as we went to a dump of a place so returned to Almyrida and stay in new hotel second week. So we got to experience both hotels, this is a nice village, but not much happening, kids might find it quite, and parents finding it hard to amuse them.
A bus runs in to Chaina around 10.30 but time you get there, and walk from bus station, it's time to catch the only next bus back. So we caught a taxi back and made a day of it.
Stay clear away from serious village hotel. Almyrida is fine you won’t be disappointed on these hotels a good 3* and a holiday is what you make it.
A car is a good way of seeing this beautiful island. We book through med hotels, and I want you to know if you have a problem in any of their hotels be prepared to spend out the same money again ,to either upgrade or be moved.
And look at the bookings on other people’s comments about them, as they say no one complains about their hotels, not true! And they don’t seem to care about it. Also they are not Abta approved so you have no legs to stand on. Sometimes the hotel you see are not the rooms you are getting. And they don’t show the worst pictures of the worst rooms, so please do your homework on your holiday!

Great hotel, rooms are clean and fresh, with great staff to help you.
There was 4 of us in this room, with plenty of space, maids cleaned the room every day, and receptionist are there 24 hours to help you. Nothing is too much to ask them.
The food was o.k. but not much choice, and this could of been hotter. Again staff was great, and friendly. Pool area was so clean, and very safe, for children.
Not much happening in the evenings, only Thursday Greek dancers, and singers. Drinks a bit dear. You can buy at the shops and take back to your fridge in the room, and take them in for dinner. We also had a week in the sister hotel opposite and they are now serving the food from this hotel, again food was the same.
Hotel very modern this has a bowling alley, pool, and the internet, when it was working?
Great staff also run this hotel, and the rooms are to a top quality with plenty of room great balcony views of the sea. And the pools. No bath just shower called a wet room, we certainly got every thing wet including the toilet roll, toilet and towels.
Not too sure on this room, I did not like. All rooms have hairdryer, but no kettles in the rooms. Hot drink are a bit dear, so take your own kettle plenty of sockets.
Overall this is a quite place for relaxing, we hired a car and visited Chania on the bus this cost 2.50euros only thing you only have 3 hours before you return, and it takes 25mins to get there, then a further 10mins walk to the old part, there is so much to see and do here, boat trips train ride horse and cart rides, plenty of shops and streets to visit, we returned by taxi 25erous as we made a good day of it.
Great English cafe up the road, proper sausages and beans, thick bacon good tea and coffee overall had a good stay.

We took a local bus into Chania((Hania) the second largest town in Crete which took about 40 minutes and was well worth visiting. Make sure you go off the main access roads and into the back alleys.
The hotel was very modern and minimalistic. The room was large and airy and bathroom was lovely. Towels were changed every day and the room was made to look lovely by the maids who arranged the towels into artistic designs each day. All the staff were wonderful especially when we had to re-book our flight home as we had been with XL. Nothing was too much trouble and if anything this was the redeamimg feature of the hotel because the food left quite a lot to be desired. Breakfast was ok but could get boring if you were staying for more than a week. As for the evening meal, I would suggest eating out as everything had a sameness about it.
We would not return to this hotel simply because we never return to where we have been before but never-the-less we had a great holiday.
