Melia Granada

Great hotel, fabulous, spacious, clean rooms, in town centre. We travelled in a group of 10 people and each room was without fault. Great to have a comfortable place to siesta in - away from the 40 degree heat. Not to mention their black out blinds which left everyone sleeping until 10 each morning - talk about relaxing!! Short walk to main shopping street and city tour bus, and Alhambra bus. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Granada. Without a doubt, stay there again.

We got a great deal off the Net and it was a wonderful room. We are budget travelers and it was hard to leave. It was close enough to everything. 7-8 Euro (with tip) cab ride from the bus and train station.

Nice hotel in a great location in Granada (5 minutes from Catedral). We got an excellent rate on the hotel's website. The room, including bathroom, was clean and modern. Looks like tour groups use this hotel also.

We were here in may. We found a great rate in their web site and they gave us a big room. The hotel is perfectly located and it offers everything a tourist would need during its stay. It is not the most charming place, but it is comfortable and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is also great.

The Melia Granada is not new, but it is in good shape. The location is excellent... right in the city centre and close to the Cathedral and the Alhambra. The staff is very friendly and helpful for finding restaurants or bus routes around the city. Always very busy, probably because many tours select this hotel to check-in their clients. A recommendation about the parking: the hotel charges EUR 15 per day. Your car is taken away by a valet. We stayed at this hotel in early January 2005 booking on the internet the night before our arrival at an excellent price. The room was lovely, the location great, and the service most efficient.

The Melia' Granada was a good value, well situated, with clean quiet rooms, an efficient staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. The breakfast room even had a little section of tables in a non-smoking area--a very welcome break in a land of smoke-filled restaurants. There was a comfortable bar attached to the lobby, that provided welcome respite after a day of touring. Although there were no non-smoking rooms in the hotel, the room did not smell badly. I would stay there again, given the good internet rate we had.

We (couple and baby) stayed at the Melia Granada for 3 days in November 2004, and were very impressed. In Europe this must be considered a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was splendid, with a lot of choice. Good location, on a chic shopping street. Staff friendly and eager to help. We did find the street noise a problem at night, but I suppose we could have asked for a room away from the street. Staying at the Melia Granada was a wonderful experience. We were there for two nights in late October '04. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and clean. My only complaint was that the walls were a bit thin. We could hear voices (and a hair dryer) from the adjacent room, but it was not so bad as to affect our comfort. Of course, this may have been due to where our room was located. The staff was extremely helpful, and the hotel's location could not have been better for what we went to Granada to see (the Alhambra, the cathedral, ...).... more

We visit Spain regularly and decided to spend a few days in Granada. We booked two rooms (as we have two children) direct with sol melia and got an excellent deal - a weekend rate for a midweek stay and 50% off the second room. When we arrived the rooms were not only excellent, but were linked. We have stayed in other hotels at high prices and requested adjoining rooms and been located at opposite ends of the hotel.
