This hotel saved us from Hostal Atenas
We were to stay at a different place but it was terrible; found this in the Rick Steves book. I read other reviews of this hotel but we had a very good experience. We got a room with a terrace which the view wasn't great but it was nice to have the full glass doors. The room smelled fine, the A/C worked, the staff was very nice & breakfast is included if you show the receptionist the Rick Steves book - he recommends AnaCapri. The breakfast was very good. Overall a good experience for us.
Noisy, smelly and hard to find
Like some other reviews mentioned, our small hotel room stunk of cigarettes, even though it was "sin fumar". The street noise was loud, and our beds were not too great. We could not find the hotel and had to park in a 30e parking lot and walk around to find it. Note, the NH hotel has a great parking garage and an arrangement with the Ana Capri, but maybe its better just to stay at the NH. On the plus side. The location is good, and there are a lot of good eats, bars and stores nearby. The staff was very nice and more then willing to... more
Very solid, clean room
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night in March, and it was a perfectly lovely room, bright and quiet. The room was a bit small and tight, and the "double bed" was two beds pushed together, but it was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice, and quite surprisingly the hotel has amazing huge fluffy bath towels. It was unexpected and a nice treat. The location is excellent, a minute's walk from the main square and very close to the Cathedral. The hotel staff speaks excellent English and gladly let us leave our luggage in their... more
Very Friendly Staff
We stayed at the Anicapri in March of 2004. Our room faced the street yet we found the new windows in our room kept out the noise very well. The room was clean but could have been a little bigger. Breakfast was over-priced. The best part about our stay at the Anacapri was its location and Kathy, one of the receptionists. She was extremely helpful and informative. Without her involvement, we would have never gotten into the Alhambra as they said they were 'sold out' when we tried getting tickets. ... more
Fantastic Find
Stumbling into Granada unknowingly on the October Spanish long weekend, we were greeted with nothing but full hotels. After calling every hotel we could muster a number for, as well as walking into about 30 hotels, I think we found the very last room in Granada at Anacapri. And what a treat it was! Small room and a simple, basic hotel – but impeccably clean with pleasant decor, the friendliest staff I have ever met, and unbeatable location right in the middle of everything you want to see. We parked in a public lot a fair ways... more
Noisy Area..... Average Hotel
If you value sleep at all then this is not the place for you. The street it is located on has several bars and restaurants that are busy to 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning, especially on Friday and Saturday. The rest of the hotel was average. The staff was very helpful.
Really enjoyed our one night stay
We stayed in this hotel for one night in September 2004 at a rate of about 97 euro. It was very nice: friendly staff, clean, attractive, and half a block from a special bus that zipped up the hill to the Alhambra. Breakfast is not included and is a bit overpriced at 7 euros, but that was not a major problem. Our room was on the small side, but acceptable. The hotel provided a portable crib for our daughter. There is an internet cafe, lots of restaurants (many Moroccan), and lots of stores very close by. As others have said, the... more
Well...
The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. However, the room we were given was really very very small. To make it worse, there was a pervasive smell of smoke in the room. Not very good. Breakfast was also limited. Still, the location was excellent - close to the Alahambra and close to the catheral and real chapel. I would still recommend the hotel, but try to ask for a non-smokey room.
Great Location, Spotless Room, Helpful Staff
One way streets make finding this hotel a challenge, but it is easy to locate if you download the map on their website. Once there, you are steps away from the Plaza, Cathedral, taxi stand and buses to take you to the Albazin or Alhambra. Double paned windows all but obliterate street noise. The extremely helpful staff assisted me in rescheduling my Alhambra reservations. Stayed in early April 2004, paid 72 euros.
sleepless in granada
Spent one night here after driving from Seville. Do not attempt to find it. We had to park at a public parking spot (on Dr Olorizo street)and take a cab. The driver laughed when I told her I tried to find it by myself. The room was clean and fresh. Hotel staff was very helpful with information. You cannot sleep in this hotel if your room faces the street. Noise of motorcycles (very popular in spain) groups of yelling people and a street cleaning machine that passed twice that night kept me awake all night. It stopped at 5 am. Note:... more
