This is our 4th year and we can only endorse all the positive comments. If you want a quite and relaxing beach holiday this is the place to go.
One item worth noting is the fantastic walking. Get talking to the two brothers and they will help you find some wonderful walks that take you into some stunning scenery.
If you have young teenage children - don't worry. Make a point of introducing them to other teenage children at the hotel (and there will be some) and then just forget about them.

We have been visiting Troulos Bay Hotel for fourteen years. It's wonderful. The staff are like family and greet us with love.
The view of the beach is just wonderful. We have made lovely friends over the years and keep in touch. The Varrelli taverna is our favourite with George and Rosemary and two lovely sons. Rosemary even collects me from the hotel each time we visit them.
So everything is just great and yes we have already booked for next year. Can't wait to go back next year.

Just returned from our third stay on the beautiful island of Skiathos. This is the first time we have stayed at the hotel, although we have eaten there in previous holidays.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome and contrary to some reports about breakfast we enjoyed the selection on offer.
Basically every day there was a choice of muesli or cornflakes, peaches and Greek yoghurt and honey. Also cheese and ham and boiled eggs available every day. There was a rotation of scrambled egg and thin strips of smokey bacon, beans, croissants, and sweet bread. Fruit juice, tea and coffee also on tap. Sitting in the comfortable dining area looking out at the blue Aegean Sea was a wonderful start to each day.
The only criticism I would have of evening dining is that the selection of wine is limited and no house wine is on offer so prices start at 9 Euros. Having said that the food was simple but excellent and good value for money.
Restaurants we tried again this year and would recommend are:
Nector and Ambrosia (Next to bus stop 19 up a steep flight of steps). Wonderful choice of traditional Greek dishes and served by waitresses in Greek costume. Had three excellent meals there all reasonably priced.
Bonaparte - in the centre down Evangelista Street on the right. English speaking waiters from Sweden. Food was fantastic and well presented although a little bit more expensive than the others, well worth it.
Pandarosi - At the crossroads in Troulos. What can I say? For 8.50 Euros we had a simple but excellent meal and were plied with drinks all night which were included in the price! We have eaten here several times over the years and the atmosphere is friendly and the service good. Their Lamb Kleftico was fantastic and they have now added Souvlaki to the special menu choice as well.
Snack bar on Troulos beach at the far end of the beach do a great Greek salad and the hotel also do cheese pies for snacks at lunch time.
We hired a quad bike for the first time which I was quite worried about, but it turned out to be the best thing we have done on holiday. It was an automatic four wheel drive and took us all over the island to areas we would never have seen.
We visited Kastro which is breathtaking and also the hidden beach near Koukanaries. We also went to the dogs home three times and took out six dogs for two hour walks which we really enjoyed. The bike cost 75 Euros for three days which included an excess waiver which we thought was worth it for peace of mind. Crash helmets were provided and the bike was great for the steep hills on the north side of the island.
Would recommend the lazy days at sea boat trip which goes out from Troulos beach at 10am every day except Friday and Sunday and costs 10 Euros. We have done this trip three times now and it’s a great day out with the chance to visit secluded beaches for swimming and a stop for lunch.
We previously have stayed at Byzantium which was great and Maria Yannis which was also good. But for location and the comfort of the lounge it has got to be the hotel. We can’t wait to go back!

My boyfriend and I (aged 20 and 25)...

My boyfriend and I (aged 20 and 25) really enjoyed our stay at Troulos Bay hotel.
The hotel was nice and quiet which was nice for the day time and at night time we got the frequent bus into Skiathos town where there are many bars and restaurants!
We enjoyed Troulos because of its location, we could stay in Troulos if we wanted a quiet night or head into the town if we were feeling more energetic.
The hotel itself was nice and clean, I would say slightly basic for its price but I think we pay for the location.
The breakfast was of an average standard we only went to breakfast twice during our 2 weeks stay.
The hotel restaurant is average but was handy for our first night when we didn’t know where anywhere was.
The Bus service is good but can get really crowded so if a taxi came along which they do regularly, we used to flag it down and it would cost around 6 Euros to Skiathos town.
We are really looking forward to going back to the hotel in June this year.

Jan 2007,  Not Specified

We stayed here for the second time in July 2006.
We love the location of the hotel; it's second to none although it does make you a little lazy rolling out of bed and straight onto the beach!
We found the breakfasts a bit dull, they seemed to lack variation and they needed jazzing up a bit.
Whilst we love the hotel, we did think that we were paying handsomely for this holiday due to the location, not for the rooms, which we think are pretty basic.
We made a decision not to stay at the TBH again simply because we think it’s over priced and the bar shuts at midnight!

A modest but well managed hotel on a gorgeous beach! We had a lovely time and were most impressed by the genuine care an warm-heartedness offered by the hotels receptionist/manager (everything seems to go through her!)! We feel we've made a good friend and will return to Toulos Bay the moment we are free to do so! Peace and quiet in a beautiful and hospitable environment-what more could we ask for?

If you want peace this is the place to go, my partner and I like quiet and this almost beat us, the food was fantastic.
The staff are amazing, the beach is great, the hotel standards are good the room was cleaned every day we had no complaints whatsoever.
We will go back maybe next time only for a week though as this is the ideal quick getaway but by the end of the 2 weeks we were almost too board I do stress the almost bit.

Jul 2006, Miss M Campbell

I took my Mum (78) to the Troulos Bay Hotel in May this year. Although we have both been to Greece many times we were very impressed with the view that greeted us on arrival.
Troulos Bay is beautiful and to find a relaxed, friendly, clean, reasonably priced hotel looking out to the sea was heaven, particularly after being delayed at Gatwick for 3 hours! The rooms are small and quite basic but for people used to Greece this is not unusual.
What was unusual was the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms each day - clean towels daily and sheets almost daily. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the gardens and out to sea, and had it's own little patio to sit out and have a G&T at 6.00pm each day! The staff were very courteous, patient and good fun and the overall service was terrific.
We only ventured outside the hotel a few times in the week to have dinner as we were so chilled out after a day on the beach, lunch on the deck and cocktails in the evening a quick shower and pulling on some jeans was all we fancied. In short if anyone needs a reminder that the sun does shine after a long UK winter, this place is a real tonic! Don't expect nightlife or fancy bars - this is cozy Greece with true hospitality.

Jul 2006, Mr A Lee

Just got back from our third stay at this fantastic hotel. We are not new to the Greek Islands so have seen most things, the good, the bad and the ugly. Skiathos, and Troulos Bay Hotel in particular, are definitely in the first of these categories. The staff treat you as old friends with hugs and handshakes as soon as you walk in the place, and treated us with warmth and humour throughout our stay. This is something you hear from all guests.
Superb scenery, beaches etc. Troulos has a good verity of tavernas and restaurants Ambrosia and Nectar is well worth the climb up the steps. Any animal lovers should visit Skiathos Dog Shelter run by Scottish saint called Helen, she needs all the support she can get.
The island is very pretty you do not need to hire a car as the bus service is the best in Greece! Boat trips worthwhile particularly the one that leaves from Troulos Bay. No wild nightlife just a relaxing beach holiday destination.

Excellent accommodation - Friendly &...

May 2004, Mr D Neath

Excellent accommodation - Friendly & helpful staff, Spotlessly clean all with a sea view to die for! If you want wild nightlife then go to another resort but for us the whole holiday was excellent with plenty of life in town, a 6 euro taxi ride away or e1.20 pp each way on the bus.
If you go to Skiathos you need to hire a jeep to see the whole island. It’s not worth bothering with a car because much of the island is dirt tracks with very steep hills. First Choice were offering a package including all necessary insurances for 75 euros per day but shop around. I managed to get a Suzuki Vitara for 57 euros per day with every conceivable insurance and excess included from Hertz rent a car in Skiathos town. It is possible to get hire cars / jeeps much cheaper but beware of the excesses.
If you are a biker don’t even think about hiring a scooter. These poor things get hammered to death on the rough terrain - Get yourself an off road bike instead - Far safer & far better.
Just a note about booking -
There were just the two of us on this holiday and after checking out the net + telephone booking options (the internet 'special offer' price was over £470 & the telephone booking option was almost £480 with 'free insurance' compared with a brochure price of £304 per person!) we went to local travel agents and got the whole lot with extra legroom seats for just over 400 quid including insurance! When I asked the reason for the difference in price I was told that this was because the internet and telephone booking sites were charging for under occupancy + a sea view. As we only wanted a twin bed studio apartment, all of which have sea views I think this was a good attempt at a rip off! The moral is (as usual) to shop around and challenge prices if they don’t reflect the brochure price!
All in all this was a brilliant holiday with excellent value.

This was our second visit to the Troulos Bay Hotel and once again we were not disappointed. Second visit are often a letdown. This was not. Skiathos in early May is beautiful. For anyone who enjoys walking and wild flowers, then this is the ideal place to be. The added advantage of early May is that the resort and the whole Island are very quiet and peaceful with mainly older couples there. If you are looking for a wild time, then you are in the wrong resort. The hotel was fist class. The rooms ,although quite small , were clean and well looked after. The bed linen and towels were changed regularly. Breakfast, although plain, was good and plentiful. The view from the dining room at breakfast time must be one of the best of any Hotel in Greece!! The hotel staff are first class. We had a medical emergency whilst there and their prompt actions and support helped us to overcome our problems. All in all a first class holiday at a first class Hotel in a first class resort on a beautiful island.
