Conveniently located
Great Location. friendly staff. Nice bar in the lobby. The only issue was the noise in the middle of the night from the speedsters on 2 wheelers but it was not their fault as the city centre is busy till the early hours on a weekend. Rooms could be larger - overall good value for money.
good value
Finding accomodation in Granada was not as easy as in Seville. given that the main attraction is the Alhambra and to stay near it is quite expensive and I would personally not recommend it as it is quite a bit away from the city centre. We stayed 2 nights (Fri & Sat)in the Corona and it was okay. Clean and comfortable and about a 15 minute walk to the Capilla Real which has loads of nice bars and resturants nearby. We were leaving on the Sunday for Frigiliana and seeing as it is a 4 star I did not pre book a car. Imagine my horror when they... more
Enjoyed our stay at the Corona
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September. We found the staff on reception very helpful. We had already booked the Alhambra Palace on line but we booked a flamenco show at reception after chatting to the staff. Our room was very nice and kept beautifully clean. The only thing we were dissapointed with was the bar. Whenever we wanted to buy a drink we had to go and find someone to serve us! We had read the report about the friendly bar man but he must have been on holiday during our stay!! We loved Granada and would definitely use... more
a very good hotel
We stayed at this hotel for four nights in september, the hotel was very clean and the room a good size the bathroom was fine and cleaned each day.The staff were helpful and polite. the air conditioner was very welcom. 15 minutes walk to cathedral area but a bus stop was only about 3 minutes walk away. We booked Alhambra tickets on line before we left U.K and also open air bus tickets on City Pass deal this also allowed 9 bus rides whiich we were glad of in the heat of the day.We would recommend this hotel to others and would stay here... more
Noisy!
staid in rooms 516 and 518 just underneath the swimming pool and next to the service entry; constant noise due to opening/closing service door and maids preparing trolley; no possibility for siesta as swimming pool noises to be heard through the ceiling; on top of that a construction site was undertaken behind the hotel which worked also on saturday morning... breakfast buffet offered selection of cheap bacon, sausiges and cheese; Spain has such great fine meats but none of them were available; if you arrived towards the end, no refils... more
Great Find
We traveled here with 5 children. This was a very pleasant stay. The location is very good, and the rooms are clean. Bathrooms are just fine. There is a very lovely cafe in the lobby that is perfect for breakfast if you don't want the whole buffet, and a good rest spot after walking all day. There is a squash court and also a small pool on the roof - only open during the summer. The front desk staff was very helpful. If you have a car, they park it for you. Good value!
Nice place, I'd go there again
A very nice hotel. Room was spacious, though had no view to speak of. The bathroom was larger than in most hotels and everything was very clean. There's a rooftop pool, though there were no towels out when we got there. There's pay internet at two terminals in the lobby and a decent bar. The hotel's about a 15 minute walk from the main part of the city, up a busy shopping street. Front desk workers were a bit aloof but helpful when asked.
Good location, friendly staff
Enjoyed our one night stay, good location and service
Good all round hotel despite the rude dining room staff
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in May 2007. Easy to find and drive to from the motorway. Welcomed efficiently, flunky parked the car in their basement - 12 euros per night. Very good bar staff. Bedroom was well equipped, quiet, although like most rooms a little dark as they are grouped round light wells.Breakfast was reasonable quality in fairly sterile room, but waiting staff - (classic rude middle aged male Spanish) - were sensationally bad - ignore the customers at all costs or huff and puff at the simplest request! (Found... more
Good location. excellent staff
On arriving at this hotel the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and modern, which is unusual for a city centre hotel in Spain. The breakfast was more than adequate, with a wide choice of hot and cold buffet items. The location was good, about 15 minutes walk to the main square. There is a rooftop pool, but this is fairly small and only open in the summer, and there is a massage room and squash court available. I recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Granada, and will stick my neck... more
