Best Western Dauro II

The Dauro II is a Best Western located a 5-minute walk downhill from the main tourist square where city mini buses leave for Alhambra. It's a nice area, with many restaurant options and shopping. The front door opens to a pedestrial-only street, but the taxi was able to get reasonably close to a rear door for unloading luggage -- there is a little walk up a ramp to the hotel. Our room had some problems but to their credit they switched our room over as soon as we requested it. So the lesson here is speak up, don't wait until the next morning. The hotel is dated, but our 2nd room had a newer bathroom than the first one. It was more spacious too, so if you get one of these rooms you'll be happier. The staff were delightful & the breakfast was very good. Some rooms face the cafe street which can be noisey so stay away from those rooms too. We stayed for 2 nights & enjoyed the whole... more

We were looking for a clean hotel with rooms that were of a reasonable size and a central location. We found all the above in the Dauro 2. The location was excellent and the breakfast wich was included in the price was one of the best continental breakfast I have had. I would stay here again and would strongly recommend it.

We returned from the Best Western Dauro II in Granda a week ago. The hotel was in a very central location on a pedestrianized street with lots lovely resturants. It was about a 5 minute walk from were the airport bus drops you off ( the driver will shout out Hotel Navas which is on the same street as the Best Western ). This was probably the most difficult location to get to with a car. I would recommend you ask the hotel to send you specific driving directions. The front of the hotel is positioned on a pedestrian street, so you need to arrive at the rear entrance and then they will park your car for you in their remote lot for 12 Euro per day. We spent 4 lovely days in Granada at the Best Western Dauro 11 hotel. Our bedroom was clean and spacious with a newly fitted bathroom. The breakfasts were very good with excellent buffet style fare. The hotel is handily situated at the end of Navas, a street containing many tapas bars and restaurants, so there is no need to go hungry or thirsty. The Dauro II is a good, centrally located hotel, right next to a selection of nice tapas bars. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and decent breakfasts. It's very convenient for the shops, markets, Alhambra etc. The only negative is they seem to have a problem with the plumbing as we could hear other people's showers and toilets as loud as though they were in our room. Hotel is very centrally located. The room we stayed in was very comfortable with mini bar and safe. Room and bathroom very clean as is the whole of Granada. Breakfast very good and hotel has its own reasonably priced cafe/bar. Get off airport bus{3 euros each way}at the cathedral. Hotel is five minutes walk. Walk up to the Albacin where you can have an open air drink overlooking the Alhambra. Even at the end of January we were able to lunch outside in the sunshine {high 50s}. Well worth a three day trip. Such a fine location ...on its' own tapas street! Rooms were good enough and nice and clean, with a French-type balcony over looking the street..great veiw of the rooftops and beautiful blue sky. Be careful leaning out your balcony after tapas time...the railing is very low! It was nice to go back to the hotel to take a breather between tapas times...and watch the very sturdy Granadians below obviously not needing a break! I have to get back to Granada. It has become one of my very few favorite cities in Europe.

After a few problems finding the hotel [may have been my map reading of course] we were greeted by a friendly man on reception who dealt with our requirements very efficiently. We were extremely delighted with our room, spacious clean & an oversized bathroom. To our amazement, the view was just wonderful. We felt this was a tremendous 3* hotel. We have stayed in a 5* with far less room, we would definately stay in Dauro ll again. Granada was a super city to stay in with breathtaking Alhambra, a must if visiting Granada.
