great stay with plenty of room by bcblcb
10 / 10

my brother and I just stayed at the property and found this to be the best room we booked for our trip. The rate was fantastic. The location is in the heart of sorrento. Everything is at your doorstep. The owner took great pride in his b&b. The room was spotless, the bathroom was twice the size of most bathrooms throughout europe. The ferry service to the islands is a 5 minute walk. The main train station is also a couple of blocks away. The two brothers who run the casa dominova were extremely freindly and helpfull throughout our stay. we stayed 3 nights and would recomend the casa to all. thank you for a great stay. brian

Excellent Location in Sorrento by dromomorka

We booked online and arrived from Naples late. We met Ciro at the Giglio Restaurant and were guided the few blocks to Casa Dominova. Nice part of town, easy walking distance to everything. Room was spacious, light and comfortable. Bathroom large by European standards. Carolina and Ciro were very attentive and ensured a great stay. Breakfast was very good. We booked two nights and elected to stay a third because of the service and enjoyment of Sorrento and surrounding sights. I recommend Casa Dominova without reservation.

friendly B & B by joelCanada

friendly atmosphere. Owner, Ciro was very attentive to our well being. Moderately priced rooms, spartan rooms but very comfortable. Well located in town. Extremely clean. Breakfast was excellent served in an orange grove courtyard or in bed! Highly recomendable, not fancy but very friendly and good value.

Owner also runs a wonderful restaurant around the corner from B & B. superb food and ambiance. The restaurant's name is Da Gigino. Very enjoyable stay.

A little disappointing - sorry! by A TripAdvisor Member
4 / 10

I'm going to be really honest with this review as it was previous reviews that led us to stay at this B&B for 5 days.

The location of Casa Dominova is teriffic! Right in the heart of beautiful alleyway-style streets with tiny shops selling stunning Italian handbags and shoes, local produce such as Mozarella, ice-cream parlours etc. The sea is a two minute stroll across the road where you can enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun go down and the coastline light up after dark.

Thats the nice bit over with I'm afraid.

The setup of Casa Dominova was not what I expected at all. It appears that the ground level of one of these olde-worlde buildings belongs to Ciro and Patrizia where there are 7 apartments all centred around a small tree-filled courtyard. We were in Room 7 right by the glass-fronted door of the building. The room was incredibly dark but I have to say it was very clean - the bathroom was spotless.

The faults - there was brown coloured mould all over two of the walls. The room was incredibly damp, when you got into bed, the sheets and matress felt wet and when you took your clothes out of the wardrobe, they too felt damp. The bathroom looked completely new but it was so tiny. Room cleaning is at an extra charge and although the sign in the room said we would get clean towels daily, we didn't...not even loo paper! We had to ask Patrizia on several occasions for these to be sorted, especially when nothing dries out in the room you end up with soggy towels every day.

Also, from a female point of view, there was no dressing table to sit at to do your hair or makeup - indeed there was actually a real lack of surface space to put anything on.

Breakfast is served in the courtyard which is quite pleasant but only consists of one croissant, a pack of dried toast with jam and a cappuccino

Noise was only a small issue. When people were coming in and out of the apartments, you could hear everything, especially kids charging up and down outside the room. The courtyard outside is open all day so when we went back to the room for a lie down after doing so much walking, you could hear people outside...especially the kids!!!

After our first night, we tried to find a hotel to move to but as we were only paying 75 Euros a night we would have ended up paying double to move to a hotel. My husband decided we should stay on and spend a little more on sightseeing so we could be in the room as little as possible.

However - their restaurant 'Da Gigino' is about a three minute walk away and is situated on a lovely quiet street/alleyway. The food was teriffic, probably one of the better priced eateries we visited. Excellent service and we also were given discount as we were staying in their B&B. I must say, Ciro was lovely and I feel so sorry that I have to write negative things as he made our last meal a lovely experience just by being so friendly...it is a shame that the B&B side lets him down (whilst at his restaurant, we heard another couple complaining about having no towels changed either).

So all in all, a beautiful town in Italy but next time we would definetely find another place to stay but in the same area, or on Corso Italia which is beautiful and so central. But definetely eat at Da Gigino on via degli Archi - that was well worth it!

Sorry Casa Dominova, but you just didn't do it for us.

we are sorry for this disappointed but in these last 4 years the structure is improved, the rooms have been painted with harmonious and delicate colors and are quiet and pleasant. Good breakfast in our beautiful garden.

Great B&B - good location, very quiet. by Rick61

Casa Dominova was a great place to stay - it is located in the central part of town, near the sea-front. It was remarkably quiet. The room was large, clean and had all the usual furniture. Shower room was fine. The only thing that let it down in my view was a rather thin and lumpy mattress. Make sure that you let Patrizia and Ciro (the owners) when you are planning to arrive so that they can let you in, or take your mobile so that you can phone.

Breakfast was coffee and croissant - usual fare for Italy - served in the little courtyard. The owners also have a restaurant in town, which is definitely worth a visit.

Perfect Place to Stay by DrLAM

Just returned from a stay at this lovely little place. It was clean, spacious, and in a great location. The restaurant associated with the hotel (Da Gigino) is a great value as well - the food is amazing, the service perfect, and you couldn't ask for a better location and atmosphere.

The walls are a bit thin, but the noise didn't detract from my experience.

STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Little Gem by liz5757

I just arrived back from two nights and this lovely B&B. You couldn't pick a better place in terms of people or location. This place is central to everything in Sorrento and can be found easily whether arriving by train, car or ferry.

The room was newly decorated (pictures on web site are exaclty as they are) to a lovely standard and spotless. I tested the airconditioning for the summer months and it was modern and worked fantstically. The minor downside is that this is in an apartment building and you do get sounds of neighbors. The walls can be somewhat thin as we found out with a loud person snoring next door.

We ate dinner at the families restaurant located nearby both nights because the food, location, atmosphere and service were all excellent. Both the B&B and dinner came at excellent value for money.

I would go back in a hearbeat and recommend both places to anyone. I booked this based on the previous tripadvisor posting and it was absolutely spot on.

Great B&B by trainingnan

We stayed in Casa Dominova for one night in Sorrento. The location was excellent! The room was large, cheerfully decorated and included a kitchen area. The bathroom was spotless. Unfortunately, we had to leave for Rome too early, so we missed breakfast.

The family that owns Casa Dominova also runs a restaurant da Gigino. We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. Food, wine, and atmosphere was very, very good.

Tripadvisor, please include Casa Dominova in the list of b&b's for Sorrento. The travelers who go to your site will not be disappointed.
