Jimmy's the man - hotel is beautiful ;)
My husband and myself work as dj's and travel every week to many hotels all over the world - and being American and female and jewish and a new yorker LOL, I'm very picky ;). We arrived at night to the Santa Paula and were upgraded to a Junior Superior Suite ( I think - room number 001) which was such a comfortable, lovely room with a free minibar. The courtyard and running fountains scattered about the grounds (and little alcoves) is exactly what the doctor ordered for a romantic get away - in a city that means you can still go find some... more
Luxurious Haven
Stayed here one night because we could not get two nights in a row at the parador. Almost was sorry we'd booked the parador for our second night; this hotel was an oasis of calm and great design in the heart of Granada. Our room was on the Gran Via and construction taking place across the street; however, our rooms was perfectly quiet with the windows shut. Room was not huge, but very well appointed with a comfortable bed and very modern, nice bathroom with oversized tub. Gratis mini-bar was a nice touch; beer, sodas, water and juices... more
Top quality hotel in an historic property
My wife and I stayed at the AC Palcio de Santa Paula for two nights last summer. It is a beautifully renovated 15th century convent. The mix of modern amenities, classy decor and quality service makes this an excellent choice. The restaurant served dinner in the open air courtyard with a live string trio performing elegant classical music. It made for a very special evening. I can comfortably recommend this property to anyone looking for a higher end hotel.
Not as good as it sounds
This is a nice hotel, as long as you stay in the original part of the building. The new wing is just like any other business style hotel and feels decidedly detached from the old convent. The merger of the two has not been done well. The staff are friendly however understaffing is a problem. This hotel over promises and under delivers. A free mini bar is included, however this consists of a couple of bottles of coke and some water. If you want wine etc you have to order room service or go to the bar. A visit to the bar for 24 hour... more
Excellent hotel in Granada
We stayed at the AC Palacio de Santa Paula for two nights and had a fantastic time! The hotel is a converted monastery with an amazing courtyard and historical details reminding guests about its heritage. However, it has a very modern and contemporary feel to it and exudes 5-star luxury. We stayed in a standard room on the 4th floor and had no problems with noise from the outside. The hotel is located on the Gran Via de Colon which is close enough, yet far away from the Plaza Nuevo to escape all the hussle and bussle. Our room was... more
A Gem In Granada
This hotel was absolutely stunning. The rooms had character and were beautiful decorated. It was as if you were in a spanish villa. The staff were very helpful and all spoke English. The breakfast was excellent. The restuarant staff were quick with service and always helpful. The location was very convenient to all attractions and city centre. I would highely recommend this hotel for pleasure or business.
Lovely hotel, bit noisy though
Very nice hotel, surprisingly modern entrance area with the old bits at the back housing the resturant and bar area. I would agree with the other comments on this site in that it is very noisy being situated on the Gran Via a very busy main throughfare. Throughly enjoyed my stay here and would return. Food good, location good, very modern and well equipped rooms. The only gripe would be the noise factor.
Very luxurious, but get a de luxe room
Very nice and luxurious, with elegant rooms and a wonderful patio. However one warning, the standard rooms are on a busy street, although you do not hear any noises because you have triple glazing. The de luxe rooms are instead facing the inner patio, which is just fabolous! Do not dine at the restaurant, the location in the patio is excellent but the food is bad and overpriced.
cooooooooooooool place
My husband and I decided to have a midweek break in Granada and chose this hotel after reading other reviews. We were not dissappointed. We paid about £80.00 per room per night and it was worth every penny. The temperature when we were there was 36 every day and the hotel was a refuge of cool air making it very comfortable. The bedroom was lovely with a great bathroom which had lots of toiletries and extras provided like sewing kit, toothbrushes etc. The room had a free minibar which was restocked each night with coke, fruit... more
