Mare Apartments Reviews
" Everywhere was spotless. The crew... "

Everywhere was spotless. The crew were always helpful and very honest, better than we were led to believe. however, our cabin was just below the bar, and with very early starts for trips ,it was very difficult to get to sleep. If you don't like French people avoid these ships, they outnumbered us by about three to one. One really worrying incident, a man was very badly burnt in the dining room and not one crew member knew what to do. Our Egyptologist who was great, took the man to hospital. The food was well cooked and there was plenty of variety. Fantastic value for money.

When we arrived I was rather distressed to see that the pool was 'postage stamp size', however, once we walked 3 mins to the beach, which was secluded and felt very private, I changed my mind.
I am not usually a beach fan, but, spent nearly every day on this little beach, very well looked after all day by the attendant. We had friends staying at various other Apartments/Hotels in Agios, they had to get cabs every where; we walked easily with a 19th month old in the pushchair to the bars, restaurants, harbour and shops.
The Apartments themselves where extremely clean and well maintained. Although we were self catering we always eat out, so, the lack of facilities (2 ring grill and kettle),did not matter. If you are going there and expecting to cook a large variety of meals, you may need to re think your menu.
The bars at the harbour where good fun, especially Sirrious and Aquaries. The restaurants at the harbour we found to be very expensive and the food did not live up to the bill.
However, the restaurants to the right of our lovely beach were not only a bargain but also very tasty and friendly. With excellent high chair facilities.

The boat had entertainment most nights. The shop on board is a gold mine. My husband was nibbled by some flying creature and Marcus had the ideal cream. His prices are fixed but are reasonable. He's got a lovely range of jewellery and clothing. If he hasn't got what you want on board when we dock at the main ports he can normally get hold of it for you.
If you're looking at doing a cruise and stay I would recommend you do the cruise first.
The only downside was that unless you got up at silly o'clock you couldn't get a sunbed.
