Enjoyed our stay

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in March. After arriving at the train station it took about 25 minutes to walk to the Hotel. It's not a very difficult walk but if you prefer not to walk I believe there is a bus that drops you off close by. The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was very good. It is about a 20 minute walk to the cathedral, which was fine for us. Hotel Abril is in quieter neighborhood with a more local/residential feel. Clean, quiet, secure.

This hotel was chosen because it was a one minute walk from the convent of 'Las Hermanas de la Compañia de la Cruz'. ( http://www.hermandades-de-sevilla.org/sorangela/index.html ) We attended a mass and an oracion inside the convent aside from spending time alongside the tomb of Santa Ángela de la Cruz. I would have rated the hotel with a full 5 stars if the beds were firmer. We ate a pleasant meal in the restaurant 'El Bacalao' ( www.restaurantesbaco.es ).

The hotel was great for our stay: very comfortable, helpful staff, a small cafeteria where you could have a cup of coffee at any time, great location near all the historic sites, plus the hotel staff provides you with very useful information about the city. Great value for the prize we paid. Would surely stay there again.

We stayed at the Hotel Abril for 3 nights in early September and were impressed mainly with the excellent location of the hotel. The Hotel is within 10 minutes walk of the city centre, the river, and the Alameda de Hercules. Our room had no natural light but was clean, quiet and fairly big. The staff were incredibly friendly and had excellent local knowledge. The free coffee, tea and biscuits was much appreciated after walking around this amazing city for hours. Great service, great price for the room, great location

We stayed here in June in a bed with three single beds for 60 euros total, very pleased. We walked to the Cathedral and the Alcázar in 15 minutes, and there are plenty of great restaurants and shops near the Hotel, located right in the historic center. They also let us leave our baggage there in storage for a week before leaving. I highly recommend it!

Like an earlier reviewer, we were given a room on the ground floor in the rear that had only one window, which looked into the computer room/common room. This meant we could not open the curtains, and therefore had no natural light or air. Needless to say, we tried to spend as little time in the room as possible. The room itself was reasonably clean. The hotel is close enough to the city center, but it is not really in the city center. You can walk anywhere in a matter of 20-30 minutes or so, but to get to the hotel from the center you...

Beautiful city, depressing hotel

We were given a room on the ground floor in the back. The only window opened on to a tiny courtyard. Anyone talking in this courtyard sounded much louder than if they were in the room with us. This space was used quite a bit-understandably, if other rooms were as ugly and uncomfortable as ours. We had been in Spain for three weeks by then, and had gotten into the habit of spending the late afternoon in our room resting/reading/drinking wine so that we could try to stay up late and join the crowds of people who seem to fill the...
