NH Plaza de Armas

This is a large comfortable hotel reasonably close to the shopping area of Seville, not as easy for the tourist area. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is a bit scruffy and intimidating, and a woman on her own would be well advised to use taxis at night. That said the taxi driver from the RENFE station tried to rip me off by charging 15 euros for what should have been a short journey. We took a taxi from the train station for 6 euro, which wasnt that bad. The hotel is approximately 10-15 mins walk from the shopping center and the Catheral. The room was clean and cozy. The receptions were helpful but their English was not very fluent, so you have to guess what they were trying to tell you. Other than that, the hotel was quite nice.

We arrived in Seville to a scorching 49 degrees! We took the airport bus to the city centre from where it was a ten minute walk/4 euro taxi trip to the hotel. I was so glad that we had chosen a modern hotel with good AC! We arrived earlier then official check-in time but were not kept waiting by the very efficient and helpful reception staff. We found the rooms very comfortable and clean. The decor felt a lot like a scandinavian hotel. The rooms were very nice, albeit without any spanish feel. And, for those wondering... the A/C worked very well for Sevilla in July (one of the primary selection criteria given to me by my husband) The hotel seemed to cater to business travelers. My wife and myself had a long weekend break in Seville and stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Our room was very modern and the bathroom facilities were excellent, no complaints about the room at all. The staff were excellent although the bar lacked a great deal of charcater. Although it was 30c the rooftop pool had icebergs in it and it took a great deal of effort to make yourself go in ! I would have liked the upstairs bar/cafe to be open next to the pool but they said this did not happen in May even when it was 30c outside... more

This is indeed a 3* star hotel and one should not expect it to be as other NH hotels which are normally 4*. The service was good and the staff very helpfull when we wanted to change hotels which is unusual. Could have been since we were going to another NH one :) The rooms are VERY small! The photos supplied in their guide book are NOT correct. It is out dated and if renovated we did not see evidence of that. My hubby and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night in mid-July 2003. It takes you about 10 minutes walk to go to the Cathedral and the shopping areas. Medium room size and needs some maintenance. The hotel was partly under renovation during our stay. Incidentally, my friends also stayed at this hotel during thier trip to Sevilla in late August 2003. They said that their room was modern and new. Possibly, they were given a "renovated" room. Anyway, this is not a bad hotel.
