Rather wary about the resort before...
10 / 10
Jan 2006, Mrs L Caulfield

Rather wary about the resort before we left the U.K, but when we arrived we truly did find paradise. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was really varied and a large selection (something to suit everybody) the waiters were really attentive.
The rooms were really well equipped, the fridge was a godsend. The mini-market was well stocked. The variety of swimming pools was really nice, you could use a different pool each day. The trips were really good value for money especially swimming with dolphins (£60) for a thoroughly exciting time.
The main area of Naama Bay was only a short stroll away with plenty of bars, restaurants and good selection of shops. Overall the holiday was fantastic, we planned to return at Christmas (though we were put off by the bombings, we will definitely be returning sometime this year can't wait.

Just returned from a superb week in...
8 / 10
Mar 2005, Mr Steve Atherton

Just returned from a superb week in Naama Bay with the family. Weather was first class, just the tonic for getting ready for the summer back in the UK.
Other updates relating to Sharm El Sheikh all do it justice so no need to add further on this. Specifically regarding the Rosetta Hotel, the following plus and negative points shaped my overall rating of 8/10:
Positives
Good location if looking to be close to Naama, which we were given the family were not keen to stay put in one location/complex all week;
Clean & functional facilities within the hotel, including 5 pools spread throughout the complex. All suiting different needs;
As with most hotels in this area, the staff are generally keen to please and help
Negatives
Room facilities were well used and tired, albeit functional and clean.
To go to the beach or into Naama @ night, family had to run the gauntlet of crossing a busy dual carriageway / main road outside the hotel. One to watch if you have very young children;
We paid for half board but after the 3rd night and an increasing ‘groundhog’ day view of the fare on offer, we decided to start eating out in Naama itself to give us more variety and enjoyment. For all of us, by the 3rd night we had become fed up with the same type of bulk produced food, although it was presented well and was perfectly edible. If school dinners are your thing, then this Egyptian variation will be fine. If not, go for B&B only. :-)

I can’t get over just how perfect...

Aug 2004, Mrs T Baker

I can’t get over just how perfect this holiday was! The hotel, the staff, the weather (52"), the food just couldn’t have been better. The only slight niggle (and I mean TINY) was the main road. Could be a nightmare to cross!
We were treated as though we were royalty all the time, & there was always someone around to see to your every need. They all seem to really like the English! The snorkelling was out of this world & the Bedouin night was brilliant. Everybody should do it! We probably stayed in the best part of the Hotel, just past the on site mini market. It had the largest of the 4 (or 5) pools,& a really good pool & snack bar. The farthest from the main reception, but that was no problem, and there was a larger mini market just around the corner! Bit of a steep walk back after a night out, but as long as your shoes weren’t too slippy it was fine.
Quite a few security guards, but they were unobtrusive & really friendly. Made you feel quite safe really!!

Could not have wished for a better holiday. the hotel is basic but very clean. the staff treat you like royalty and could not be any more friendly and helpful.
The rep(Danielle) was brilliant and everything was very well organised including all the trips.
The resort is good and eating out is very cheap and the sea certainly does not let you down.
Take plenty of sun cream as the weather is extremely hot( 40c+)the sea is around 24c.

Jun 2004, Mr A Lunn

Excellent hotel, very clean, with a choice of 4 pools. Quite a variety at breakfast but not much English food - omelettes and toast is all you’ll get - unless you like spicy sausages and pastries. We never felt ill from eating here, even drank the watery orange juice! Although the evening meal here is reportedly naff, recommend the Shanghai Chinese also on site. Drinks in reception bar £1.50 for a large Stella.
Kids club is good but gets hot in there. A long walk if you are in the section up past the mini market - but it’s a nicer pool up there. Bring non-slip shoes - I slipped on the steps and down the ramps three times and it hurts! Not rubber ones - my husbands pool shoes melted from the hot floors and beach!
Small fridge in room big enough for drinks and bits of food etc, it’s not a mini-bar. Internet cafe is £2 per hour - there are only 4 PCs though.
Very good at fixing things quickly when you complain - air conditioning and bath taps - although tried to charge us for the replacement tap that was broken anyway on checking out. Tried to make us pay by saying it would have to come out of the reception guy’s pay! After much arguing and waiting we didn’t pay. Cheek!! Mixture of ages here, resort very child friendly and mix of English, Spanish, Italian and Germans.
NOTE: hope you have a good rep cause ours was rubbish! (airtours).

This holiday was brill! I really enjoyed all of the diving. Unas who was our diving club was really helpful and informative. The food on all of the dive boats was excellent.
The hotel was good too, the cleaning services were brill. The food at the hotel could have been better though.
Overall our holiday was excellent and I would definatly do it again!
