Inglaterra Hotel

Does not deserve its star rating. Just returned from Spain (Jan 1, 2005) and stayed in 6 different hotels and this one was by far the worst. The others were all 3 star and very comfortable and affordable. Shabby furniture and beding. The hallways smelled like sewage. Even after calling onetravelsource, they still would not honor that breakfast was included in our reservations. Very rude and would not recommend this hotel. Sorry we stayed here.

The hotel has a great location, just a few minutes walk from the cathedral, the main shopping centre and only 10 minutes to the river. All the staff were friendly. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and the dinner menu looked good, although we did not dine in. The bedrooms were very comfortable. I'd suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel as Plaza Nueva gets going early. Also beware: only the 1st floor is designated as the no smoking floor.

This hotel is no four-star, despite its stellar location. The room was shabby, dripping water from the ceiling. The window was like a prison window, opening to a noisy back alley. Dining room not bad for breakfast. The location is what it has going for it - but it is in major need of renovations. I couldn't believe it called itself a four-star... four half-stars, maybe...
