If you want a really quiet and restful holiday, then this is the place for you! a small "village like" complex of self catering apartments within their own grounds and only a minute from the beach. it is used mainly by Portuguese holiday makers, but everyone was very friendly and helpful especially the receptionist Elsa who spoke very good English. manta rota is a small village and there is nothing to do but relax! there are a few very good restaurants which serve locally caught fish but if you like a really good barbecue go and find a small cafe called the mars bar and ask for their special bbq'ed ribs. if you want bright lights and action do not go to manta rota leave it quiet for me!!

We love this place. We have been twice and plan to go again next year. The standard of accommodation is excellent. It is all on the level so ideal for older people or those with mobility problems. Fantastic, simple restaurants within walking distance.
Elsa is wonderful and we hope she's still there.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quality self-catering, quiet, Portuguese holiday.
