Having stayed in other highly rated establishments in Sultanahmet, this is by far the BEST. If you are lucky you will be greeted by Vulcan a former NYC cab driver who talks just like Joey from Friends. The entire staff's hospitality is unsurpassed , as is the complimentary breakfast which isn't just your typical Turkish breakfast. Melon, cereals, eggs, cheeses, yoghurt, and dried fruits are all on offer and can be enjoyed on the sun-drenched roof terrace that overlooks the ocean. Thıs place kıcks butt. We stayed here twıce -- once on the way ın wıth a pal (ın the dorm) and another tıme on the way out ın a double room. Everythıng ıs perfectly clean and works -- great fıxtures even ın the dorm bathrooms. None of that stupıd 'taco bed' sıtuatıon so prevelant ın lesser places where the bed slouches and you wake up wıth a backache. Staff knows all and ıs cheerful. We stayed elsewhere when we fırst arrıved ın Istanbul and only moved here later... don't make the mıstake we dıd. Enjoy!

We stayed at Agora guest house in Istanbul for two nights. The guesthouse is completely new and spotless. We spend the first night in a 6 bed dormitory with very comfy beds, individual lockers etc. The shared bathroom was really clean and had many cubicles and showers with huge shower heads. We found the Agora Guesthouse to be perfect and stayed 3 nights on the first occasion and then one more night 3 weeks later. The management is very professional, friendly and are always on hand to ensure guests have no problems. The rooms are extremely well appointed and exceptionally clean and fresh - with a lovely view. There are flat screen TV sets with English channels, internet, fridges and air/con. This hotel is new and confortable, The owner is just so sympatic and help you for everything, that amazing! Nice location and great view from the terrasse.

Agora Guesthouse is situated just a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet square. The street has beautiful little shops on it, being so close to the centre of the tourist life, it is still quiet and cosy. At night you can go admire Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque all lit up, but also take a stroll into the neighourhood to discover alleys with pubs and restaurants.
