Hacienda La Boticaria Hotel

We had an incredible 3 night stay at La Boticaria. We arrived late in the evening. After checking in, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was very good (we had venison and boar) and service was outstanding. Being low season, the hotel was not very busy however there was ample staff on hand to take care of all of our needs. The property is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are accessible for long or short walks. The horse stables are also a must see. We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of September 07 and enjoyed the hotel very much although there are some negative points. Firstly, I understood the hotel was less than 10km from the airport but the fare for the journey was 55 euros. Likewise the following day we went to Seville by taxi and it cost us 35 euros each way. To me this seemed rather a lot. The taxi driver who took us back to the hotel after a day in the city had never heard of the hotel either so make sure you have some directions to help get you back! All you need to be aware of to appreciate this hotel is that the target audience are corporate customers. It's like staying at somewhere like Penny Hill Park...it's Ok, but just souless. Despite the hotel being emtpy we were still given a room overlooking the unfinished garden. And finally the potentially lovely pool area is ruined by the lack of view.

We stayed here for a weekend during July which is without a doubt the hottest I have ever experienced Sevilla. I would advice to stay spring, early summer, autumn or winter to properly enjoy this establishment. The hotel itself is lovely. The reception and entrance very airy and impressive. We changed from a normal room to a junior suite as the first was located so that the sun was on the outside wall all day which even the best airconditioning would struggle with. This hotel 20 min drive outside Seville. You will need a car to stay there and be mobile. But if you do have a car, it is worth staying. The hotel is very new and the staffs are friendly. The rooms are not big (but it is Europe after all) but comfortable. I like this hotel more than other 5 stars inside the city is because it gives you a great sense of space.
