Flats in Luxor

This was my first trip to Egypt and I loved it so much. I owe that to Jane from Flats in Luxor. She was recommended to me by a mutual friend in Miami and I am so greatful. We have just got back from our holiday in Luxor . Although this was not my first (or even second) trip to Luxor, I am not the most experienced of travelers; I know parts of Cairo well enough to make my way around, but Luxor is very different. The flat itself was fine in some ways - it was clean and the view from the balcony was lovely. However it was clearly made to look good in photos, rather than to live in eg the kitchen was less than basic etc. This was OK however. The main problem was that the owner put pressure on us to use all her services (donkey rides, taxis, felucca rides etc etc with the line that using local service is better for the community. We are a family of 4 with two teens and just came back from a 10 day visit to Egypt. We stayed for 5 nights in flats in Luxor at El Gezira (west bank). The flat we stayed in (Osiris) was huge with 3 double bedrooms, large living room, kitchen , bathroom and lovely balconies. The flat has both AC and fans in each room, large windows, and comfortable beds. We loved to stay on the west bank because it was so peaceful and no hassle.
