Hotel Don Paco

The Don Paco is typical of many Spanish city centre hotels, in that the official star rating is nowhere near a true reflection of what the hotel actually merits. The decor, facilities and even the staff seem to be stuck in the 1970s. It must be said, however, that on a purely functional basis this hotel serves it's purpose. This was not an exciting hotel to stay in. Although the service was great, the rooms are very cramped and have the feeling of the 1970's. The television did not work properly, and the bathroom was not as clean as a hotel should be. The restaurant had great food for both dinner and breakfast, and the close proximity to restaurants and bars gives this rating a boost. Also, the rooftop pool is a great addition to an overall 3 star hotel. I probably would not come back to this hotel in the future.

Having read previous reviews of the hotel, we were a little wary, as they'd ranged from terrible to above average. The hotel is very well situated in the historic area of the city and is only a short taxi ride to/from the airport (around €22 fare). The hotel itself is somewhat dated but is nonetheless clean and serviceable.
