Hotel was fantastic, this is our second time in Egypt, we love it. Ritz Carlton was fantastic. Hotel staff were very friendly, couldn,t do enough for you. The room was cleaned every day, Would definitely be going back. The only problem was we should have flown with Thomas Cook airline but they changed our flight time twice and then they decided to use AMC air lines. Would not fly with them again, also would not go with Thomas Cook again.
The Air Hostesses were not friendly. People kept pressing for assistance it took them a long time to assist. One Air Hostess sat at the front of the air craft with her feet up I was very disapointed with the service. Please avoid AMC Airlines if possible.

We are a family of 5 and booked half-board for a week. The hotel definitely met our expectations. Our rooms were comfortable and very clean and the air-conditioning was wonderful! As previously mentioned, bottled water was left in our rooms in the evening, which was most welcome. The food was excellent, both at breakfast and at evening time. Drinks and snacks at the pool and hotel bar weren't cheap, but if you stay in a 5 star hotel, then you can only expect to pay 5 star prices.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming and were brilliant with the children. The pools were never crowded and there were plently of sunloungers and shade.
The hotel grounds were very pretty and the views of the sea from our rooms was lovely.
We would definitley go back again. My only criticism was the time of our flights. We missed our evening meal when we arrived as the restaurant had closed and left just before the restaurant opened on our return flight. This has nothing to do with the service at the hotel, but Tour Operators should realize that when you only go away for 7 days, the times of flights could mean you lose money by not having meals you have paid for.
Also, be carfeul not to have ice in your drinks or drink any water except bottled water. I had a very bad stomach the day we left and so did several other people. Apparently, it is known as "Pharoah's Revenge" and is quite common.
All in all, if you are looking for a superior hotel with good food and excellent facilities, the Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh is the hotel for you.

We booked our holiday only 2 weeks before we went, and then i had a look at some reviews. I was a little concerned at some of them because they didnt put very good comments.
I can only say that i needent of worried it was absolutely beautiful. the hotel was stunning overlooking the red sea, the grounds are well looked after and lovely to walk through. We had paid extra for a room with a sea view but having got there after dark we couldnt see wether it had, but in the morning we were not happy with the view so we told reception who immediately changed our room to a much better sea view. The room was beautifully furnished and we were given a bottle of water each day. The food and choice in the restaurant was excellent and couldnt be faulted. There was a well equiped air conditioned gym and a beauty spa which me and my husband had some treatments at which were wonderful. When I looked at the reviews someone had put that the pool was dirty, I can only say, they were not at the ritz carlton, as the pools were crystal clear and were being cleaned every night until the early hours. All of the grounds and pool erea was spottless. The staff were always very friendly, polite and only too happy to help you nothing was too much trouble. The sea was lovely and warm and the snorkling was great, the fish amazing. Every thing about the ritz carlton was wonderful and if i had to fault anything then I would say that maybe room service could have been a little bit quicker at times but that is all. Anyone staying here should have a fantastic time and if they dont, well then theres just no pleasing some people.

We booked this hotel for a luxury...

Apr 2008, Mrs E Steele

We booked this hotel for a luxury break at October half term. We have two children and had booked two suites. They were nice though a little tired. The first warning is you have to get up early to get a sun lounger with shade. Everyone had been taken even from 6.30am!! This was due to the fact that you must do a deal with the pool attendants. We were definitly slow on this uptake.
The food pricey and not the best like the previous review head out for a better meal. We had booked the japanese restaurant and this must have been one of the most expensive meals for four. Even lunches held you captive and these also proved to be pricey.
The finale was that we had no hot water for three nights!
We certainly will not be rushing back.

We have stayed at two other five star hotels in harm, but never experienced the prices at this hotel for both average food and drinks. Ten english pounds for two bottles of lager!. We quickly realised we would have to eat and drink in nearby Nama Bay where the food was far better and cheap as well.
Unless you are extremely rich stay away

A lovely hotel with great rooms and pools. The restaurants are good but can be pricey.
Drinks are very expensive and it is best to go to the town and buy your own water and alcohol but don't touch the rose wine.
No problems with holiday tummy-even for my young daughters. I have been at Easter and in October before when the climate is more pleasant.
The staff can be excellent but the pool service was poor. Definitely recommend this but at a different time of year.

Sights of the magnificent Red Sea, as...

Jun 2005, Miss Rachel Sharp

Sights of the magnificent Red Sea, as a group of three sisters we enjoyed this holiday in Sharm El Sheikh. An ideal place for snorkelling. Although we didn’t go snorkelling there was many other tours available. The city tour, including a taster of the Sheesha (traditional smoking). The glass bottom boat tour.
We also took an hour flight to Cairo, to see the Pyramids of Giza and the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar. The essential tourist area is called Naama Bay, there is a complimentary shuttle bus from the hotel 3 times a day. This a also a great place for clubbing and night but not too bad for the day either, if you love bargain hunting for souvenirs and t-shirts and jewellery, good for haggling too. If you wish you can also exchange your partner for camels and this isn’t a joke!
The hotel location very good only 5 mins walk to Fantasia Alf Leila (great for night life, disco and belly dancing till early morning). Rooms was always in order, housekeeping came twice a day and also gave complimentary mineral water every day. There was unrestricted air conditioning too. Large bathrooms with marble floors complete with bath and shower. Large bathrooms with marble floors complete with bath and shower.
We had a sea view room which had lovely garden views and a beach view. The garden areas were taken care of very well, they are impressive.
The hotel beach was safe, pleasant and spotless, it is situated on a cliff which was nice and breezy especially when the sun is strong. If you want a sun bed on the best spots you would ideally have to book before 8am.
Swimming pools were sparkling and you could hardly smell any chlorine.
Overall, it’s a five star standard of hotel, I would surely go again June 2006.

Superb hotel. Friendly and efficient...

Jun 2004, Mr R M Albon

Superb hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Lovely food. There is a reason I gave this hotel 10 out of 10 as it is nigh on perfect. I liked it so much that I booked a return holiday only a few months after my first. Wonderful.
In detail, the hotel itself and the grounds are immaculate, lush and a joy to behold. The Ritz foyer is quite a sight; walls of glass reveal the panorama of the Red Sea and the Tiran Islands in the distance. Marble adorns every square inch of floor, a pianist plays soothing, soft melodies on a grand piano and 70+ (yes, I counted them whilst waiting for a friend) discreet air conditioners keep the huge space as cool as a cucumber.
The suites range from a large room with en suite right up to the $2400 a night Ritz Carlton Suite. Since I am not Steve Jobs, I opted for a superior room which was larger than average and had ocean views. All the rooms can either have two queen sized beds or a king sized bed. With multiples of that if you get the larger suites. The rooms are not overly plush, rather leaning toward very clean, minimal and airy. Every room has a large, very secluded balcony or patio. The en suite is large and immaculate with bath, separate shower, toilet and bidet. All flooring is a polished marble. Believe me when I say that whilst experiencing the Egypt heat, I could never get enough of the lovely air-conditioned marble of the hotel. A note on room air conditioning: it is very efficient, quite quiet and very non invasive.
The restaurants are exactly what you would expect from a five star hotel. Superb choice, excellent service and a joy to dine in. Special recommendations go to the Lebanese Farous and its divine mixed Mezzeh; a starter large enough to satisfy the heartiest appetites.
The hotel has no real classical sandy beach to speak of. It does have a protected reef that is considered to be one of the greatest places in the world to experience scuba diving and snorkelling. A wonder to behold as long as you respect the coral reef and watch your step.
Not the best hotel for children. The Ritz does have a large children’s pool which like the rest of the swimming pools in the hotel, is maintained to a high standard. The water has very low chlorine levels (tested daily), which should result in no tears. The children’s pool is situated next to the deepest part of the main pool (3 metres in depth), which seemed rather odd. Though there is no worry as the deep pool is fenced in by a foot and a half fence all around.

Mar 2004, Mr K Moser

A luxurious hotel where your every whim is accommodated. You cannot pour your own wine before a waiter does it for you. Rooms very comfortable, staff all speak English (with varying ability) and are very helpful and courteous. Poolside - slices of melon and chilled flannels twice daily, two towels for your lounger, one as a pillow both arranged by the attendant. Beautiful grounds and very quiet at night.
Arrival is unlike usual hotels, they come to you once you are comfortably seated and you and your bags are delivered by electric cart to your room.
Only drawback, its remote from any other restaurants or shops. The restaurants within the hotel are excellent with the base one having themed evenings - not the same meals repeated each evening.
Wonderful coral reef reached via a floating jetty from the hotel's private beach, water very clear - ideal for snorkeling or scuba
