Catalonia Giralda Hotel

Out of the way location, does not make this a desirable property. At least a 20-25 minute walk to any of the historical sites. We had to look at 3 separate rooms as the a/c (we were there July19&20th) did not work properly in our first room, not at all in the second room. third room had a very strong musty smell but eventually the a/c kicked on and cleared the air. Don't come here expecting any kind of 4 star quality. The rooms are a bit shabby, paper thin walls meant we had to bang on them to shut up the chattering couple next door, 3am! I reckon we were on a floor reserved for discounted customers. There was an Asian sports team of some sort staying on the same floor and we were awoken by phlegm being cleared very energetically every morning - horrible. I stayed at the Giralda Hotel during the week of the UEFA Cup Final, so you can imagine how busy it was! The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room did not have a very good view in spite of the brochure saying there were good views of the City and the Cathedral, but overall the quality was good. A great choice of breakfast and the bar staff were very friendly.

We stayed here in March, 2003. The location is convenient, but this hotel has plumbing problems. In the room we were given, the toilet leaked onto the floor and there was a terrible odor. We asked to change rooms and found the 2nd room also had a bad odor. The staff was very accomodating, but cleanliness is a problem.
