Casa Vitae Hotel

This was a excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast served in the wonderful courtyard was excellent. The location in the old town made it easy to walk to numerous restaurants and tourist destinations but parking is some distance away. On the negative side the rooms do not all have a safe and free wireless internet as advertised. From our room because of the wall thickness it could only be accessed in the courtyard. I really loved this place! I really felt at home during this one week holidays in Casa Vitae in Rethimno!!!!! The hotel is marvelous and the people there always ready to help and offer their best of hospitality!! Not to mention the super-duper breakfast at the beautiful renaissance yard, surrounded by flowers of all kinds !!! I made a booking through hotels.com for two nights at Casa Vitae after having read all the fantastic reviews. The room description and the price I paid reflected the suite, as described on the Casa Vitae and hotels.com website. Upon arrival we were taken to a building opposite with a tiny room and a bathroom so small I could barely turn around myself let alone swing a cat. Worth to be visited. Situated in the centre of the old town it is very calm. Service is very good and clean. Kind persons. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a family member even a friend. Will come back again. Best Manipulix

There are other reviews with descriptions of the hotel. None describes the terrace at night, with its soft lights in wall niches, its pond, the sound of running water and a glass of ouzo with freshly squeezed orange juice. The suite we had was big, air-conditioned, with marble floors, a Venetian stone wall, fridge, a bathroom with a powerful jacuzzi and a balcony to sit out on. The staff were friendly and helpful. Casa Vitae is a beautifully renovated 600 year old building in the Old Town. The hotel opened only about a year ago and nothing was spared in this renovation. Our room was very large with beautiful stone walls and many windows. The bathroom was large and lavish complete with an elaborate jacuzzi. and a ceiling mural. gorgeous building very spacious rooms with excellent bathrooms the courtyard is very beautifull and a nice place to relax with breakfast or a drink,maria the housekeeper is a pleasure to meet and the owner is very helpful and speaks excellent english and allways happy to help and make your stay enjoyable walk out of the hotel straight into the old town narrow streets with excellent tavernas close by.the building is really interesting didnt want to leave
